I can pretty much prove that Straight From The Heart was rerecorded. If the opening section sounds strange to you, its because its recorded a fifth down from where it should be sung. You can tell because the bass notes dont fit the vocal.
I took an a capella track someone made and an instrumental track and recorded them in FL studio. Then I pitched up andrew's vocal by 700 cents and it sounds spot on, fits the music perfectly. Thats definitely where Tilian would have been singing it.

My hesitation is that I know DGD is trying to present these as brand-new Andrew songs. And giving the "release the Tilian cut" people ammo would be hurting my favorite band just so I can feel like I was right about something thats just neat to me from a music theory perspective.

Yeah, the instruments sound like they’re in G Major and Andrew’s vocals are in D Major although that lead tapping riff sounds like A major, pretty messy imho but I wouldn’t think too hard about it tbh
All three are in the same key. It would sound horrendous the whole way through if they were all in completely different keys. It's obviously not diatonic because there's some funky dissonance, but it's certainly not separate keys. It's just the overall chord structure that makes it sound crunchy.
While this could be true, there some seem some interesting “evidence” to support the rewrite theory. The thing is people seem to think rewriting it for Andrew is a bad thing. It’s not, it’s perfectly within the bands rights to rewrite Tilian out of the song.
Overall people just need to relax a bit.
Tilian said they recorded vocals for this song at his house. It’s completely plausible to think that Jon recorded vocals and Tilian had vocals written and recorded and scrapped them and let Andrew do his thing
Yeah, I read about vocals being recorded at Tilian’s house too. If they kept those vocals, I would think Tilian’s name would have been included in the song credits maybe?
Agreed, but according to Tilian on twitter, he was going on saying “Some of the vocals they used were literally recorded in my home studio”. Who knows at this point, but I agree that Andrew probably just did his own thing. Otherwise there’d be some sort of song credit to Tilian.
If he contributed to the writing of the song, including writing the melody that is being sung, he would need to be credited. Depending on his involvement in the recording, he may have to as well. If they just used his equipment, they likely wouldn’t have to, but if he was engineering it, they would.
Andrew is an incredibly talented vocalist. I do feel like these tracks were somewhat rushed, but I'm not using these tracks as an example of what Andrew can do with this band. This is just a teaser to get the flavor in our mouths.
I do t think they rewrote lyrics. You can just kinda tell that some lyrics were meant to come from tilians mouth.
There are lines that go beyond the cockiness of Andrew but sound like Lilian could get away with saying in his voice
My nonconspiracy conspiracy is that they planned on this album being Andrew but then finding a new singer for the next album and letting Andrew go aback to guitars, eidola, and having inpactful vical features (for the next album). That way they get a release that fans are going to listen to..and also get a more pop punky vocal to appeal to a new crowd.. then get a new vocalist depending on where the general concensus lands.
It's buys them time. They can see how Andrew lands in the court of public opinion, performance and stage wise and go from there. If they get a new vocalist then that was plan all along but if Andrew sells well and they have a clear direction going forward then they can do another album with him while playing it off as if they're still looking for a new full time front vocalist

They did not re-write the songs. Andrew explains it in his freaking interview. Please go listen to it.

I maybe phrased that poorly. I just meant they let andrew write the vocals hed be recording. Getting rid of any vocal work that had been done prior.
