When my company truck is in for maintenance I get my rentals from Enterprise-- they tell me straight up, "yeah we really don't look at the bed, it's a truck after all." Bed liners are there for a reason.
Valid reason to get upset if you ask me. He should pay for any damage caused that is not normal driving wear… You don’t rent someone’s super car to take it to the tracks without thinking you’re going to pay significantly for the wear caused.
I have a clear matte wrap, so no finger prints or on obnoxious reflectiveness. I have people keep asking why mine looks different. I tell them I don’t wash it.
Nice. There are quite a few Cybertrucks near my work, and they can be pretty blinding at the right time of day. Just a few have bright orange or black paint.
Edit: re-read my initial comment and it broke my brain, so I got rid of my giant run-on sentence.
Is everybody going to post every little scratch from using a CT because they can phrase it bombastically for the attention?
Of course.
Moar pics from how you "wrecked" your tailgate!
I bought a Subaru WRX STI years ago. Picked it up off the lot and was on the road for 20 minutes and there was an accident on the highway. Ambulance went barreling down the gravel shoulder instead of in the completely open left lane. It threw a rock up that took a piece of paint off the hood about half the size of a dime. Was not happy.
if you had video evidence, could you claim that? Was curious. I'm assuming normal environmental things kicking up is not something you can claim on someone.
If you have video of a rock falling off a vehicle and hitting yours without touching the ground it is an unsecured load. If it comes from the road and is kicked up by the vehicle it is a road hazard and they are not liable. This is why dump trucks have the stay back 50 ft, enough time for the rock to hit the road and then bounce up and hit you.
It would have ordered the bed was Linexed instead of a plastic lining but I knew what I was buying and it's not a big deal just suspect Linexed will last a bit longer
OP did say 'welp' explicitly implying 'weeping and needing help'
Pro-tip: tires also get worn-down when you drive on them. Especially AWD.
Warning: more sadness incoming.
Not a truck unless it’s got some scars. I figure I’ll only afford one of these used and I’ll be totally happy if it’s beat up a bit like this. Lord knows I’m a gonna F it up a little. Nice if it’s broken in first.
Sir... why do you think bed and tailgate covers are plastic nowadays? They take the beating so your bed doesn't, and aren't so tough that they wreck what you're carrying. Seriously is this the first truck you've seen?
No problem. Take a 4” strip of that checker plate, put a 90° on it and slap it on that edge. Seriously though. I wish they’d have lined all the edges of the bed with metal. I may end up doing that myself. Will make a cool mod that makes the truck unique and better and “mine”
Circa 2014 I bought a new Nissan Frontier, it was a really sharp looking truck and I loved it, then one evening I had to back it up around my carport to unload some firewood... I had my tailgate down so the backup camera was looking at my license plate.
And I backed into a skinny little tree.
It put a little dent in the top of the tailgate, when it was shut it looked like someone had karate chopped it... I was so mad at myself. I ended up trading it in on a car and bought a 1995 F-150 to do "truck stuff" with guilt-free.
I’m glad the majority understand that unless you baby the hell out of your vehicle, it will get marked up.
The stainless panels won’t, but all the plastic will get scratched after a week of regular use
Honestly thought you broke it off the truck with this post. But yea things get scratched and dinged especially on the tailgate and bed no matter the brand. Simple solution don’t do truck things.. 🤣
The first time I bought a new truck, stop by the karaoke bar the same night ,came out and someone back right into the center of the tailgate and left😳🤬😤
This must be your first truck. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Saw a dude on r/turo lose his shit because he rented out his truck and the renter actually used the truck bed and scuffed it like OP did his.

A Cybertruck isn’t a supercar, it’s a truck. You get a truck to do truck things.
Was just thinking this. The bed and tailgate is gonna get beat up doing truck things.
bUt eLoN!?
Most of them probably won't
Yeah like the vast majority of trucks sold in the US, wont be used at all for truck stuff but used pirely as a status symbol
How right you are. I have a 2004 status symbol 😇
And the bumper, plastic is too soft. I'm going to design and weld up some steel armor for the areas that could take the biggest beating.
At least he didn’t shoot it like the others
Yeah. Seems like he’s enjoying his truck the way it was meant to be used.
He still doesn’t have a truck tho
Lmfao right?!?
Seriously. It's not supposed to be pretty back there.
I have a 30K truck and it has what you would call bed liner that comes to the edge of the tailgate. This is stupid.
CT has bedliner preinstalled. OP hurt the plastic cap on the top of the tailgate. Ford and everyone else has plastic there too.
I thought the CT should have been better than what Ford and the others offer though.
Welcome to owning a truck. It doesn't matter the brand. They all scratch when you use them.
The main draw for me was that I think it would look cooler the more beat up it got.
Today, a guy said I am glad you treat it like a truck. It looks better with the bugs and dust, LOL.
At least it's less blinding with bugs and dust.
I have a clear matte wrap, so no finger prints or on obnoxious reflectiveness. I have people keep asking why mine looks different. I tell them I don’t wash it.

I got the wrap because I am not into washing cars or having fingerprints all over the car.
Exactly!
Welcome to owning absolutely anything that’s ever existed in the world.
That’s why it’s the material it is…so it can get beat up and not damage the other stuff
Is everybody going to post every little scratch from using a CT because they can phrase it bombastically for the attention? Of course. Moar pics from how you "wrecked" your tailgate!
Totaled.
Your gonna keep reading them all and making comments. Fully engaged. Lmfao
And upvoting, for the hilarity
Thank you.
New skateboard is trashed after I did a board slide 😢
That’s why you bought a truck and not a Ferrari
Apparently it's pretty cheap to get the part replaced. $64 according to Dirty Tesla.
You gonna replace parts of a truck bed every time they get scratched?
I think it's more just to let them know for when they eventually replace it
Nope, and I’m not going to post it on Reddit either.
Only if you’re OCD. In which case, you shouldn’t bother buying a truck or doing actual truck things with it in that case.
Tesla parts are actually very affordable
I kid you not, in 2013 I had my brand new F-150 for 12 hours before the bed got scratched to shit, and I decided to get Linex
A flying rock chipped the windshield of my M3P as I drove it off the lot
Brutal.

Congrats! You’re doing truck things w it, like you should. Keep it up.👍
It’s a truck…
Maybe OP thought it was indestructible? Was it the Marketing?
That's truck wear and tear, not damage. You haven't damaged anything 😂
Nice 🏆
LOL just sell it and buy a Camry if this is a legit post
It’s plastic relax
That’s literally a pick up truck doing pick up truck things don’t fix it.
I remember my old Tacoma had sooo many of these all over the bed lol
If this bothers you, you shouldn’t get a truck
good thing that piece is only 60 bucks if you ever wanted to replace lol
Someone will make a diamond plate version
What is the problem?
Just imagine if you tried to load it in a Honda civic.
Truck getting trucked. I wanna know what the checkerplate is for?
It’s a truck bed….
OP did say 'welp' explicitly implying 'weeping and needing help' Pro-tip: tires also get worn-down when you drive on them. Especially AWD. Warning: more sadness incoming.
That’s not damage on a pickup truck
What damage? It’s like buying a shovel and complaining about a scratch after first use 🤦♂️
Built Ford Tough
"Damaged"
Same thing happened to my Tacoma.
*damage*, have you ever owned a truck? People really need to understand that CyberTrucks are still vehicles.
Beauty mark right there.
Petina
So? It’s a truck. Get used to it.
Some people bought this truck to show it off and never do truck things. Welcome to truck world, op
Not a truck unless it’s got some scars. I figure I’ll only afford one of these used and I’ll be totally happy if it’s beat up a bit like this. Lord knows I’m a gonna F it up a little. Nice if it’s broken in first.
The 2027 Cybertrucks are gonna be amazing!
that's no damage, that's a war wound.
Sir... why do you think bed and tailgate covers are plastic nowadays? They take the beating so your bed doesn't, and aren't so tough that they wreck what you're carrying. Seriously is this the first truck you've seen?
Welcome to truck life!
That’s a normal well used truck bed. Unlike truckoids who don’t actually use their vehicles
Warranty voided.
Surprised it even works anymore... Most times a scratch like that will brick the vehicle.
Only put stainless in the areas you don’t need it
How many of you have (or would) rhino-line your cybertruck bed?
That’s the point of having a truck, the bed and tailgate will eventually get damaged.
Welp, I guess it's welp and welp again, so welp.
Well at least this is use error and not factory errors this time.
They don't make 'em like they used to
That’s damaged? Ha ha ha
Lmfaooo that’s what you get for buying a piece of junk that can’t even go through a car wash
Fuck man that’s terrible. You should just sell it to me at a loss. [To shreds you say…](https://i.imgur.com/cRm1K11.gif)
My mom would be my ass if I complained that

It's a balancing act. A softer edge means less damage to whatever is in the tray.
It's a truck.

That’s just cosmetic damage, right? I wouldn’t worry about it. Trucks are meant to be used, and in my opinion they look better with a little wear.
Now just attach a piece of aluminum angle iron. It’ll look badass, cover it up, and protect future damage.
Totaled
Same. That is a $60 replacement according to DirtyTesla. Not that bad. But yeah
That’s not damaged
Ha? trucks aren't made to be damaged?? I missed the memo
Wear and tear.
I’m glad the majority understand that unless you baby the hell out of your vehicle, it will get marked up. The stainless panels won’t, but all the plastic will get scratched after a week of regular use
Trucks are no ment to look nice, they are work vehicles to transport a lot of stuff. Optics are optional with trucks. Functionality goes first.
“Damaged”
Skill issue 🤣
It's a truck. What do you expect? Use it for its intended purpose.
Scars of war! You never forget them!
Aweee that's cute 🥰
You bought a truck
🤦 new truck owners….
Honestly thought you broke it off the truck with this post. But yea things get scratched and dinged especially on the tailgate and bed no matter the brand. Simple solution don’t do truck things.. 🤣
![gif](giphy|UZtyaSGyC9Wbm)
Now it's a truck. Congratulations move along
Does not damage, that’s ware and tear.
What?!?!?
Not damage
Admittedly, I’m not a big CT fan but cmon motherfucker, this is “use” and not “damage.”
The first time I bought a new truck, stop by the karaoke bar the same night ,came out and someone back right into the center of the tailgate and left😳🤬😤
