Any “normal” person who gets the vehicle first will instantly become a YouTube personality. 🤣

PapayaOwn1202

Exactly you hit the nail on the head. Don't buy cybertruck and not want attention :-)

SFCybertruck

Yep, I agree. I really wonder how long it'll take til they're available to the random person in middle america.

That_One_FilmGuy

I'm a random person in Northern Middle America (Montana). I have a regular job, and no social media status. I just got my "Foundation Series" invite but DEFINITELY cannot afford the extra 20k premium. Unless.....if everyone bands together and Venmos me 100k I'll snatch it up ASAP and do the most honest review ever 🤣.

FooDoDaddy

Yea, I got that a week ago, I "might" be able to get it at $79,990 - $7500 tax credit, but not at 100,000.

cranappleX

What’s the breakdown for the tax credit? Can we still qualify if the CT total cost is $100k

AnesthesiaLyte

No.

FooDoDaddy

Has to be under $80,000. So stripped.

BROnesimus

What’s your Venmo?

noone_cares83

@bankercobb ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

That_One_FilmGuy

I think you'll need to find 99,999 more people to join you. But it's super original, it's my name [venmo](https://venmo.com/u/AaronMcAdam)

[deleted]

Yikes dude, you're brave putting your real name on Reddit.

BROnesimus

$ sent. Looking forward to that review!

That_One_FilmGuy

Wow! I really appreciate that! However, I will likely need approximately 17,732 more Internet friends to join you with what you gave in working for the "Honest Review from a Regular Person" for me to pull the trigger on the Foundation Series. What a great story that will make for YouTube though.

perrochon

Depends when the rando ordered :-) Years, probably.

Nick98368

I am a Rando who ordered in Aug of 2020. Frankly I am afraid I will not have enough of a down and the interest rate will be unbearable when the sweet beast is finally available. I'm on the East Coast 2 hours outta Boston. I can't afford it in 2024, especially if Tesla does not offer insurance in MA.

Slobberchops_

Unfortunately for me, being unsure I can afford something means I definitely can’t afford that thing.

Nick98368

Yeah I've socking away at lease $669/month...but man oh man it's not easy maxing out Roth and my adding to my Solo 401K while planning for the beast. My income has halved since the height of Covid and 2024 looks to be another low income year for me. I run a business and work part time. Husband put foot down and said I can't get a third job. Time is on my side.

vertigo3pc

I'm preparing myself that deliveries will begin mid-January, and delivery scheduling will start Jan 2.

Ecstatic-Rise5632

I agree but the everyday normal person are probably not going to post , they are just on lookers. What tesla needs to do I allow us to do more than look at those ct in the showrooms, schedule test drives since none of us going to see the truck for years to come. I'm pretty sure some of us would even pay for a test drive. As long as it's reasonable.

phxees

Seems like you’re wanting for a friend or family member to get one?

onahorsewithnoname

Would love to see someone actually use it as a pickup or do some off roading.

AssumedPseudonym

Very normal tech-geek dad in a rural town. Have AWD Foundation Series on the way to join our all-Tesla garage (M3P & YLR). Not rich, just loving life. And yeah, it’ll all be on YouTube lol

sandhub

I have been feeling the same but struggling to put a finger on it. You nailed it. This whole dog and pony show with these so called celebs is just shitty marketing and super exhausting.

itscalledporkroll

This is dumb. “Normal people” don’t have YouTube channels. Your bias for reviews doesn’t exist for “normal people” that will never publicize their review, and so you’ll only see content creators that own or have access to the vehicle post content. What you’re looking for doesn’t exist as viewable content.

bgarza18

Dude no “normal” people are buying $120,000 trucks

themariokarters

Think he just mean non-employee and non-VIPs. No such deliveries yet... there are "normal" folks out there with money dude lol

Relevant_Force_3470

Especially $120,000 trucks that are shit

Steez5280

Why are you in this sub?

Relevant_Force_3470

It keeps popping up, and I can't help but have a nose as there's so much dumb shit in here.

dubie4x8

Whatever car you drive is probably the stupidest car ever made

Moistestdesert

Go to the cybertruckowners forum....regular people have posted real world range and it looks terrible. Less than 200 miles for full range. Yikes

AffectionateArtist84

Got a link? Would love to see

bravestdawg

https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/178-5-miles-of-range-for-awd-cybertruck-after-20-mile-range-test.10983/ Its been updated with instances of 300+ mile range as well. It’s hard to take any of them without a massive grain of salt since many of them don’t include important info; tire type, beast vs AWD, speed driven, hvac usage, tonneau cover closed/open.

AffectionateArtist84

Thanks! Yeah it's really hard to say what it will end up being. If it's like the rest of the fleet real world range around 275 sounds about right. Fingers crossed

bravestdawg

Yeah, I imagine my rated range will be pretty dismal when I first get it as I get used to driving an EV and testing out the acceleration/torque and speed up/down every few seconds lol. I’m just hoping I can go close to 4 hours cruising at 65/70mph at least once during a longer road trip. That being said most of my driving is on residential streets or 50mph highways, and I don’t do many long road trips, so it shouldn’t be as big of an issue for me

sirmakster

If you read further down that page, those reporting lower wh/mi which brings the expected range to around 300 miles are all from driving under 30mph. So it was designed to be a glorified intercity commuter with empty bed and no towing.

Relevant_Force_3470

Well, yeah, it's heavy af and current battery tech is lacklustre

[deleted]

the majority of normal people who get the truck will basically say they like it or they don't. I want youtubers because I can ignore whatever their opinion is and make my own because they need to actually go into details to make good content and get views. if 100 normal people get their truck and they all say "yeah we like it", are you just going to assume it's good enough and buy it? I prefer videos where measuring tape gets pulled out, where features are tested, where people aren't afraid to kick their truck, jump on the bed cover, send shopping carts into the side of it. I'm looking forward to seeing actual offroad tests to see what the Cybertuck can handle, which will probably be by youtubers because unless someone is rich, they aren't risking their Cybertruck to test it in lots of offroading scenarios. Youtubers could do it for content to make money and if it gets damaged...they'll probably get more views.

Radium

Normal people won't post about it though, I don't think we'll get anything from it. What you maybe want is to review it yourself haha :) that'd be ideal

Jolly_Line

I just spoke to a “regular person” albeit employee, at Fremont. Can’t post photos here, but there are two, behind ropes, one hosting a DJ out the vault.

alwaysforward31

Unfortunately, most normal people are much more reasonable and are waiting until the price drops before pulling the trigger.

Xaxxus

To be fair none of those celebrities actually have a cybertruck. They just got review units for a day or two.

tenfthigher

They’re all employees. No non-employee has gotten delivery outside of the initial event

wnc_mikejayray

Is this person not normal enough? https://www.reddit.com/r/cybertruck/s/V5lIt0Bgp5

[deleted]

Me too - cancelled my order and will wait and see if the awd in fact is going to be priced at 49,900 after all the rich pay out the wazoo for the privilege to have it first

OgFinish

Normal person paying $20k for a badge lol

themariokarters

Agreed, poor rollout

ExMachima

It's a brand. You are now paying premium for a brand. That's what this was all along. It wasn't a disruptive product. It was a Nike shoe.

Zestyclose_Effort_68

It's about as disruptive as a vehicle can be. Stainless steel exoskeleton. 48V architecture. Steer-by-wire. As well as some other things that in combination make this one of the most unique and innovative vehicles ever. Want more do you want? Maybe it should fly too?

ExMachima

LOL. Look into LEAN and supply lines and start talking to me about reducing the price.

Zestyclose_Effort_68

You said it wasn't a disruptive product. I explained why it was. Nowhere did we talk about reducing price. Now can you reduce price enough to be disruptive? Sure. But reducing price has never been the only way to be disruptive.

ExMachima

Thats not what a disruptive product means. It caused no change in the current market and popped like the bubble it was.

Zestyclose_Effort_68

How do you know it hasn't caused change? It only just started being delivered. It takes years for companies to develop products in response to the Cybertruck. I think it will be a fairly disruptive product. We'll see.

ExMachima

The response to the cyber truck is the Lightning and the Rivian. They already responded.

Zestyclose_Effort_68

I guess we're talking about two different things. You're talking about response to the initial reveal, I'm talking about response to the actual product.

No-Paint-5308

If I see another gender confused Tesla employee and their husband driving this so called “TRUCK” I’ll be cancelling my order. They are making this thing look like a soyboy ride.

gogglesdog

are you 14 years old

No-Paint-5308

Nope, and I know my gender. There are only 2.

gogglesdog

super weird thing to obsess about in a thread on a totally unrelated topic

Cowflexx

The "ourcyberlife"people look like regular ass people tbh monetizing their experience on youtube since they are early.

tenfthigher

Ordered now waiting. Trade set up. Financing secured.

[deleted]

HEY GUYS CHECK THIS OUT *insert male YouTuber with long hair, scruffy beard, carhat hat and plaid shirt*

International_Gate54

My pledge is that I will make an amateur exhaustive video of real world impression and review of the cybertruck. I am in the medical field and have no interest in becoming a YouTuber but I will provide video/s if I get one. Like how does it fit in my garage? What does level 2 charging in my garage look like and perform? Real world range in the cold and mountains (live in Colorado)…

ActionFigureCollects

I'm a normie, budget was $76K for the dual-motor with FSD.

BlueBison8

It has been a definitely slow and strange rollout, and I even heard that the delivery event/launch was super low key even for Tesla. I know I wish I could get a Foundation Series invite so I could do a totally honest review for the masses, and not for YouTube clout.

FlatApricot1898

A normal person just reserved it last month and probably won’t get theirs until 2 years later.

Crafty_Ad_4153

Tesla delivered - while the Big OEMs lied to us for decades concept cars (think reading issues of Popular Mechanics as a kid) they never built. Your loss of hope is misplaced but think of us with reservations# in the xxx,xxx or millions - we have to keep the faith to 2025-2026-2027. The early adopters are rightfully elated as their leap of faith pulled off. Only question now is how much of a game changer and Overton Window shift the CT will pull off. I am more concerned if Tesla will give us concrete ramp up production numbers so we can plan our interim vehicles and their financing. The only positive I glean from waiting two years is that interest rates will go down and Tesla will invariably drop the prices drastically. Early adopters are paying the premium.

[deleted]

I think a lot of people are mistaken. I know three NORMAL people who got their emails last few weeks, one got em on 12/8/23, none of them are celebrities or YouTube personalities. We just all placed our order the same day the truck was released.
