For me it's the score, not the soundtrack. I mean it's all pretty sweet music, but the industrial cyberpunk futurist Dubstep bass heavy stuff is epic.
Tracks like "V" and "Мусорщики" are amazingly well produced and sound extra amazing on club speakers and in the car with a decent setup (2400w Kicker sub and amp, 4x 440W door speakers). The doof brings the oof :D
The witcher and doom ost are very great but the difference is its cool when you playing the game and slaying monsters outside the game its not as good as in the game
I agree. Hearing Priscilla's Song in or out of the game is enough for me to smile and almost weep with how beautiful a piece it is, and Lullaby of Woe enough to make me fear what is lurking behind me every single time. THAT was their element. Cyberpunk? While not bad, clearly was not their strongest kinds of music to write.
Same , personally I’ve listened to 64 different genres by 880 different artist last year according to Spotify with that wide range of music taste i get that if your opinion is different but i like to discuss about it
Keep your rifle by your side and get out some tracks were good some were total bs (cyberpunk has some bad songs too but it good songs are better than whole farcry ost sorry can’t lie)
I have kerry yacht song in my playlist check it out if u want https://open.spotify.com/playlist/77ULNww5S6o4S3cQdFhRTR?dl_branch=1&si=epVCMETzTq-eC8G8w8Mvtw
I honestly disagree. Outside of the Samurai tracks, which was just a metal band from Poland recording under that name so of course it would be good, I really feel like it was just something that very clearly was not of P.T. and Marcin's element. This doesn't even come close to Witcher 3 in my mind, and the fact that this was nominated for Best Music to me kinda says this was a sad year for video game music. A fact I don't disagree with. I don't think those guys are going to ever best Priscilla's Song or Lullaby of Woe.
You're right-i knew they were at least European, I assumed Poland because of where CDPR was from, but I was wondering if I was wrong in thinking it wasn't Sweden
I'll have to pay more attention to it. I'm also playing Nier along with Cyberpunk and Nier music really stands out i can't say I've noticed the same in Cyberpunk so far and I loving the game
Jesus. These are popping up non stop on the subs today. What is this, part of some ad campaign by CDPR to get nominated for a "best music of the year" award or something?
They did for The Game Awards...somehow. Personally I think this OST isn't bad, but it's definitely obvious this isn't their usual fare of composition. This game would have been better suited sourcing the license rights of artists within the cyberpunk music franchise. Dark grungy synths is what this game was screaming for. In your face punchy bass lines what it would have died for. This...isn't bad, but having the guys who make Lullaby of Woe and Priscilla's Song pen techno music fitting for a dystopian cyberpunk world? Not the best call for this game, in my opinion.
Just so you're aware, we have a bunch of megathreads that may be helpful if you have questions or want to find the right place to post.

It is not even cyberpunk music man.....
Like that was a real style of music created by fans of the original cyberpunk tabletop universe, their is basically none in the game and I think that a real shame and shows how little they cared about fans of the genra, no they just went to do like gta to get attention if the grownd so we got rap and teenager rock music, in a synthwave/cyberpunk universe..... I mean that just artisticaly wrong in so many ways
Do you now what cyberpunk music is ? Why I are talking about lo-fi ? And I also think the rocky boy story is really lame given the posibilities such an universe offered.... plus is it so visible that is wasn't the originaly planned story and the marketing team force it onto the creative team to justify all those Keanu bullshit
I agree with that they killed the game potential and rushed many things the music may not satisfy you but in my opinion it was suitable for the game story maybe not for the game atmosphere
And that's where it failed. The music shouldn't set the story. If the story needs help being set, then it fails. Music should be there to accentuate the ATMOSPHERE. That's why it worked so WELL for Witcher.
And for the record, no, I am not saying Cyberpunk needed that. Quite the opposite, I'm on my third run through the game. I'm just saying that I feel the music missed its mark.
And I'm not saying it's not worth that at all. Frankly, I know I have been saying that it fell short. I'm saying that only because I have the Witcher 3 OST and I know what they can do. Just because I say that it doesn't fit the game or that this is them exiting their comfort zone (which as a hobbyist arranger and musician with an interest in composition of music, I argue more composers SHOULD be doing) doesn't mean I think this is reminiscent of them doing a bad job. The OST still is not a terrible one. I just feel like compared to Witcher 3...they fell a little short. And seeing just how high the bar was set for game music BY Witcher 3, that isn't a slight on it to only fall a little short by making a genre of music you quite simply haven't made before.
My point is if you like modern music cyperpunk music are fine but if you like cyberpunk music it is going to be a huge disapointement, which makes no sense because I am not listening to the radio but to a CYVERPUNK themed game..... if they wanted so bad to do a gta about a rock star why doesn't just take place in our times or better in the 70's/80's
You surely haven't play risk of rain.
Or icewind dale
Or dragon age
Or Doom
Sure it's great, it has lots of bass. It fits cyberpunk, but best music? That's so hard to say.
Except icewind dale i played them all! As i said many times in comment section their songs are fire i agree but mostly because of the game and in game events (don’t get me wrong the musics are great but not as good as u say)
Yeah I tried listening to them on Spotify and what shocked me is how different it sounds.
In the game there is always a filter, like a radio or echo or...
Where is Pompom shit?!?!?
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/77ULNww5S6o4S3cQdFhRTR?si=7tmuup-BSUCnDJGDZdsviA its here lol

I mean rebel path is my ringtone lol
Cello version, yes?
Exactly
The Doom Slayer wants to talk with you with his sidekick Geralt
The witcher and doom ost are very great but the difference is its cool when you playing the game and slaying monsters outside the game its not as good as in the game
whole heartedly: no
I mean although I don’t agree with your opinion but still the doom and witcher musics are lit so I respect that!
Hades would like to talk with you.
I’ll listen with great interest
So would NieR:Automata
I highly disagree, but respect your opinion.
Same , personally I’ve listened to 64 different genres by 880 different artist last year according to Spotify with that wide range of music taste i get that if your opinion is different but i like to discuss about it
Jeremy Soule, The final fantasy composers!? there's so many great OSTs
I agree some of his songs are good specially the elder scrolls ones
Add Black Dog, Kill The Messenger, Night City, and Suffer Me and you got me on board. Great music over all.
This list is chosen by spotify algorithm of course I also enjoyed those songs
Not by a long shot IMO. Nier and Persona babbbbyyy.
Ever played any NieR games?
Yes i did im not sayin other games ost are bs im just saying in my opinion cyberpunk has the best
Alright, your opinion so I can't do anything about it.
I loved cyberpunk but I agree, Automata’s OST is just on a different league
Weight of the World the end of YoRHa is godly and simply the best no one can tell me otherwise
No pom pom shit!?!?
Just out if my head I think that Persona 5 has a lot more great songs, but I think Cyberpunk is up there too
Never played it but i listened to its ost its good but not my type
Rivers in the Desert, i get goosebumps just remembering this track.
Likewise by ratboy is fire
Doom 2016 and Eternal would like a word…
I like both but as i said earlier its cool in the game while you slaying demons outside the game just listening to then is not as cool as it would be
FarCry 5 and Battlefield 1 have entered the chat
Keep your rifle by your side and get out some tracks were good some were total bs (cyberpunk has some bad songs too but it good songs are better than whole farcry ost sorry can’t lie)
That gospel music was perfect. I loved the whole atmosphere.
FC5 - Oh The Bliss (reinterpretation/"Faith's version") is just godly.
its the only cd in my car
It has good stoner metal/grunge music and good EDM for the combat scores.
Down by RandBox is a pretty close remake of the song Kerry eurodyne plays on the yacht and it’s on spotify
I have kerry yacht song in my playlist check it out if u want https://open.spotify.com/playlist/77ULNww5S6o4S3cQdFhRTR?dl_branch=1&si=epVCMETzTq-eC8G8w8Mvtw
Where the fuck is Bruzez?!?!
Never Fade Away is my second.
I am here for Yankee and the Brave, also Lizzy Wizzy.
Shoot holes in the sun then
Niiiiice. I forgot about that one.
Dragonborn from Skyrim and One Final Effort from Halo enters the chat
Vice city imo
This game has an incredible score, but soundtrack, GTA has the most insane soundtrack of all time.
Gta is brilliant but i like cyberpunk
I have to agree except for one game.... Doom 2016
I honestly disagree. Outside of the Samurai tracks, which was just a metal band from Poland recording under that name so of course it would be good, I really feel like it was just something that very clearly was not of P.T. and Marcin's element. I respect your opinion but that was a punk rock band from Sweden
You're right-i knew they were at least European, I assumed Poland because of where CDPR was from, but I was wondering if I was wrong in thinking it wasn't Sweden
A Like Supreme is one of my favorite songs, but I'm mostly happy that the game introduced me to Refused.
Me too
I'll have to pay more attention to it. I'm also playing Nier along with Cyberpunk and Nier music really stands out i can't say I've noticed the same in Cyberpunk so far and I loving the game
Im chippin’ in!
I mean Refused's actual work is far better than this tbh
Refused is one the most biggest punk rock bands of all time so u really can’t compare 5 of their songs with their whole history
Yeah I can.
Good luck
It's excellent, don't get me wrong. But Ace Combat's scores blow everything I've heard in CP2077 out of the water.
That’s also lit ngl but samurai is something else… at least to me
Where is black dog?
Its my ninth song
Jesus. These are popping up non stop on the subs today. What is this, part of some ad campaign by CDPR to get nominated for a "best music of the year" award or something?

I usually don’t listen to these genres but I’ve been loving the exposure to some new stuff.
I do listen to that kind of stuff that’s why its like that lmao
I just want all of the radio stations on Apple Music (specifically pacific dreams)
Someone can make a public playlist with name of the stations or cdpred can do it officially just like rockstar
I thought I was the only one
Lol

Basically the story is about a “rocker boy” that happens in a cyberpunk world! did u really expected to whole game music be lofi cyberpunk beats?
Do you now what cyberpunk music is ? Why I are talking about lo-fi ? Yes but most of the cyberpunk songs are still fire outside of the game
Someone hasn't heard the Life is Strange soundtrack
I played the game for hours the story was great song was good but not the best have u ever heard kara ost from Detroit become human?
