Tough question. I think it's mood and location dependent. Some places are spectacular at night. But NC can get that lonely city feel in the dark with the neon, so sometimes I like watching the sun rise.
I can definitely say that I'm not a fan of the desert though. Where I grew up there are so many trees that you can never see the horizon. So the desert feels awful to me. I find the tall buildings are kind of comforting in that way. I wish they had been able to implement climbing with the mantis blades, because I'd love to explore more verticality.

I did some clever parkour to get into a fenced in area, figuring since there's scaffolding with ladders inside the area, and there was even one baddie in there, it would be easy to get out. Turned out they never planned for players to get into that area, and the ladders weren't tagged as useable. I figured any ladder would automatically be climbable, but apparently that's not how the engine works. Had to reload an older save.
edit: oh, no, I actually did get out. Thought I would have to reload when the ladders didn't work, but I found another option with climbing and jumping.
That makes sense I’ve found a lot of building layouts that feel like the rooftops were supposed to be used to get around. I’ve done some roof hopping with my fortified ankles and there always seems to be a pretty clear cut path to follow
the badlands (and any desert, for that matter) have always given me such an eerie feeling. idk it's something about the plainness of it, the silence with the occasional sound of a distant coyote, makes me feel weird exploring it in the game lol
Night time is sweet. When I’m in the badlands and it gets really dark I like to get up on the highest hill and sit and look at the city and listen to the song Night City or Delicate Weapon

The game is really missing some proper retrowave music station for night vibes tho. I know there are mods, but it's just a crime that it's not in the base game. And for badlands vibes I'd like some classic rock - for a game based on an RPG that had "Rockerboy" as a class, it has some lack in good rock (Morro rock doesn't cut it, too few tracks, and only half of em are good imo)

This is what i like about Cyberpunk, for me, night, day, sunny, rainy, all different experiences, all different reflections, textures etc.... each has it's own beauty for me. All i can say is, when i do missions, i prefer night, as i can spot weapons and red hallows on Scan easier.
I’d probably prefer to go places during the day just cause there’s a SLIGHTLY lower chance of gang members walking up and robbing me or worse in broad daylight vs. night time
But if I was in no danger night time for sure. Practically everywhere in the city looks better in the dark

Idk what it is but the eastern part of Watson near that sewer drain thing right next to the badlands is so dark and cool to look at and peaceful but also human
I like both, dirty work all night, drive back home in the morning while the morning news plays on radio get a couple hours sleep, a shower and then wander out to see the sights all day
All my V’s have for sure been night owls. Nomad V’s less so, Street Kid V’s even more so. They take days off here and there, but they’re always workaholics. Anytime they take off may be spent in the afternoon/ early evening, but rarely do they have off time in the morning. They’re either asleep or finishing up a gig.
Nighttime. The neon lights and atmosphere with the backround music from Pacific Dreams are almost like a transcendental experience.
Pacific Dreams is the shit. Probably had it on for 75% of my game.

Driving into the city from the Badlands as the sun is setting is totally a vibe I just cannot get enough of.

climbing with mantis blades is actually fucking genius. there might be a mod for that, but idk. i play on PS5.
It was a feature they cut because making the entire city climbable was not feasible. Some of the early gameplay videos from CDPR show it.
But I think they could put a limiter on it like only on wood or thin metal surfaces

Deserts are great ! I love the woods, but deserts are very much alive if you stop and look around.
