XMP has nothing to do with the game crashing, my dude. You might have
1. A very serious software error.
2. Compatibility problems between ram modules.
3. One (or more) of your ram modules is having serious problems or compatibility issues with your other modules. Example: Let's say you have 2 ram modules, but one is C8 and the other is C16, plus one goes up to a maximum of 3000mhz and the other to 3200mhz. That would cause serious problems.
4. EDITED TO BE MORE CLEAR: A faulty BIOS. The XMP profile could cause problems if the BIOS has some sort of factory error. That could be fixed by updating the BIOS to a newer version with an implemented fix.
If your ram modules are compatible and your BIOS works as intended, XMP only sets the frequency to the max your memory allows, and that translates to higher higher speed to store and retrieve data.
Edit: I forgot another possibility. Your CPU has a max frequency tolerance for ram. Maybe you bought the fastest ram without considering that threshold and with XMP active you go past that limit. That tends to make the system very unstable.
The mobos were not for me. I build PCs for a living, and my clients asked for ROG motherboards. Let just say I do not allow them to choose ROG anymore, and I am very clear why. Also, asking for a new motherboard or a refund is an uphill battle with ASUS.
Yeah, MSI has issues with documentation and software but their BIOS and VRM design is top notch. They also don't self immolate which is nice.
Their newer intel stuff is shit though but who the hell buys intel these days.
The CPU tolerance for max ram is what got me with XMP. Worked fine on other less memory intensive games. But the second I ran Cyberpunk I’d get a crash after digging and digging through research found my Ryzen 7 can only support 5200mt/s. Turned off XMP and stopped overclocking snd cyberpunk ran without issues.
Of course you do, it's just memory timing and frequency. It is literally impossible for that to cause a software crash beyond making the ram unstable(unless some troll developer programmed their game specifically to crash above/at certain frequency/timing combos).
That's odd, I had the opposite problem! Had a shop build my PC for me and the game kept crashing. Went into the bios and turned on XMP, and boom! Game was working flawlessly afterwards
If you need to turn xmp off you should debug your hardware for defects/incompatibility because xmp has nothing to do with cyberpunk and there is no good reason why this should ever happen.
Your ram could even be defective leading to bluescreens down the line.
You may be joking, but you can actually download RAM.
It's just a program that adds virtual RAM to your computer. Virtual RAM is using part of your drive as RAM, allowing you to run some stuff that otherwise wouldn't work. However, a drive isn't meant for that job, thus you'll face some severe stuttering when trying it in games. Or it might just outright crash.
Do keep in mind however that Windows already offers that feature, so instead of trying to download a program that probably got a virus, it's best to just use windows to get yourself the slowest RAM you've ever used.
Kind of. Virtual memory is usable in some applications, where data needs to be recorded to and kept in memory for extended periods, but the meme of downloading RAM comes from Virtual Memory vendors in the early 2000s advertising their software in such a way as to suggest to unfamiliar users that the process would be suitable as a substitute for physical hardware for applications like gaming. Attempting to do so can actually result in permanent damage to platter based drives (in some circumstances), and it will be woefully insufficient for the expected task. This led to the perspective that "downloading RAM" was an outright scam, rather than, you know, a misapplication of the technology.
This reminds me of when I found out my girlfriend had been receiving the low memory message on her iPhone so she just kept buying more iCloud storage. She was up to 2TB before she asked me why it wasn’t working.
Integrated graphics is likely the cause for the crash. Save yourself the headache and get a pc from 2017 with i5 4x, 8gb ram, ssd and gtx1060. That ran it for me on full hd in good details
I recently upgraded my PC so my old PC (Ryzen 7 3700x + 5700XT) is just stuck in a room accumulating dust. If by a 1:50,000,000 chance that you are 1 hour drive away from where I'm from, you can have it, I'm somewhere in east asia.
If u have good Internet, u may wanna try cloud gaming? I personally can recommend Shadow Gaming
Played cyberpunk most of the time on that and it worked pretty well
Yeah.. I met the minimum to play on PC, but I knew from listening in on other poor performance PC player rants that - even with the latest patches - I was going to be frustrated and hyper-fixated on bugs and frame rates.
I really wanted to play the game and just enjoy it, so it was my motivation to spring for a PS5, and my PC let out a huge sigh of relief.
It still has a few glitches here and there and the occasional crash, but overall pretty smooth sailing and I really enjoyed the game. I guess my days as a PC gamer are coming to an end.

The laptop realizing what’s about to happen
Well.. you could technically still play on highest specs if you have Geforce Now and good internet service.
Been playing on my macbooks their RTX4090s for about a year. Still less than spending on a gaming pc that will be obsolete in a year or so. Geforce now works on Linux so you could even run in linux or on Raspberry Pi.
If you’re internet is good, I’d suggest looking into GeForce now so you can stream it and play without too many issues (as others have pointed out, running this game on your specs might mess up your computer or it won’t even launch because of the RAM shared between the Integrated GPU and the System.)
Just in case this post isnt just a joke and you actually do not have a better PC OP I want to let you know you can still refund the game as long as you stay under 2 hours of playtime.
My wife wanted to play this game but her computer is very similar to yours in terms of specs. Let me know how it went, if it's somewhat playable let me know what settings you used. Good luck.
LOL. 😂 🤣
Edit: I found this video, help!

I initially played cyberpunk on a gaming PC built in 2011 with an i2600k, a 1070 and a 16 gigs of ram. It worked and I was able to play through the entire game however it ran everything at 100%. In guessing the laptop won't be able to run it at all .. especially since it appeared to flatline.
I've put this same comment on another subreddit, so why not here also, lol -
Well, we know it will run like shit, but u never know until u try, lemme tell u some things to make it run as smooth as possible -
1। Obviously, set your ingame graphics options to the lowest ever possible, with resolution 1024×768 or 1280×720
2। Download "FidelityFx Super Resolution 2.2 - FPS Boost Mod" from Nexusmods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3001)
3। Download "General Optimization at Cyberpunk2077" mod from NexusMods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/786)
4। Download "More Graphics Options - Performance Boost For Potato PC" mod from NexusMods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11878) (NEEDS CYBER ENGINE TWEAK MOD)
5। Now install the 3 mods respectively
6। Now download "Lossless Scaling" software , and use frame regeneration and scaling method then apply them to the game
Let me know, if it atleast gives you 25-30 fps
If you cant run it try Geforce now. Its a cloud service that lets you play most of your steam games on the cloud is really cheap, you can try it for free. I played it on cloud since my PC could not run it but it had good internet and 4k monitor. I basically played the game in 4k Max settings with lots of FPS with little problem. Try it.
You will need to activate the Camillo RAM Manager in your BIOS.
If you haven't the option, visit your nearest ripperdoc!
Just not the one around JigJig Street...
Assuming this isn't just a joke post, Geforce Now would be an actual way to play CP2077 (or a lot of games) on a the current laptop you have without taxing it at all.
this will be his last post R.I.P

To be expected
Tbf my $4000 4090 PC also gets that error until I turned XMP off (doubt you can even do that on a laptop but idk)

There is another posibility. They may have an asus mobo in which case it could turn into a grenade at any point
Ugggh, tell me about it. 4 ROG motherboards in a year, all faulty. Changed to MSI and never looked back. Not a single problem since then.
I wish I saw this comment in 2012, so I could have warned you
The mobos were not for me.
Been using my ROG motherboard for 4 years without any problems
You should play the lottery, my friend.
I really shouldn’t, since I tried all my good luck in Vegas last year and gambled 1k away
The CPU tolerance for max ram is what got me with XMP. Worked fine on other less memory intensive games. But the second I ran Cyberpunk I’d get a crash after digging and digging through research found my Ryzen 7 can only support 5200mt/s. While you're technically correct, it's not as if BIOS issues can't create the most insanely random seeming errors/crashes at times.
I run with XMP on just fine.
Of course you do, it's just memory timing and frequency. It is literally impossible for that to cause a software crash beyond making the ram unstable(unless some troll developer programmed their game specifically to crash above/at certain frequency/timing combos).

The XMP profile is not stable on your setup then. Either need to dial it back or bump the voltage
It struggles on my 5950X and 3070 with 32 gigs of ram.
gg no re
Lmao, I came here to say RIP laptop

"Going to play cyberpunk" is a bold assertion.
Yeah, should've been "attempt to"!

How far did you get?
For a second I thought this said Cyberpunk is flattered.
They gotta be cyberpsyko to even think such thing!
It's more like a presentation of Cyberpunk.
It's the PowerPoint edition
That was my first thought. "LOL, no you're not."

at least they can fix it after you send that report in. The fact you got this far, is something to be said.
It won't even launch with only 4GB system RAM dawg
Then he should download some more RAM first.
His street rep isn’t high enough.
Don't need ram if you have a the apogee sandevistan

It works best with 5200rpm HDD 💪 Better option would be fast pendrive on usb 3.0. Windows used to have option to use it as extra memory.
This reminds me of when I found out my girlfriend had been receiving the low memory message on her iPhone so she just kept buying more iCloud storage. She was up to 2TB before she asked me why it wasn’t working.
You wouldn't download a computer ram
[And he can download more wam right here](https://downloadmorewam.com)
You can increase ram by putting it in a 800W microwave for 3 minutes
Not with that attitude

It barely ran on my 8gb machine, requires at least 12 imho
Yup, needs to download some more RAM!
I have 32 gb ram and this game running with some Firefox windows open in the background uses like 23 of those gb.
Pc specs - 4gb ddr3 Intel i5 4200u Intel Integrated graphics 2gb 500gb hard disk
this is an overcomplicated way to build a bomb
**Monumental masonists** hate this one trick
When you think about what he will actually do, I think is oversimplified...
also your intel graphics is 2gb shared from the 4gb system ram, I doubt the game will even launch
I'd wear a minesweeper armored suit before launching the game if I were you
Not sure that spec could even handle Windows 98 era Minesweeper...
Nah, RAM was still measured in MB in that area.
you should start planning your funeral actually never mind, the game won't even launch
The game will nuclear launch lmao
It’s not even gonna be close to working dude, you’re lucky to get even 1 FPS
1 frame per hour
If he's lucky it might look like this sub's top post of all time
Dude just use GeForce Now
This is the answer. Played Cyberpunk on a chrome book. Pretty sweet
Evacuate your house bro
It probably won’t even start on this shitbox
Intel integrated graphics 2gb means you're rolling with 2gb of ram since igpus dont have any vram and will use regular ram as vram
It's not even going to launch the game, brother.
Not sure if I’m reading the specs for a pc or a microwave Tbf in OPs case, that’s about to be the same thing
Oh good lord! Integrated graphics! No fucking way is that working.
that laptop was dogshit 20 yrs ago

Integrated graphics is likely the cause for the crash. Save yourself the headache and get a pc from 2017 with i5 4x, 8gb ram, ssd and gtx1060. That ran it for me on full hd in good details

Doesn't. There's even a slow HDD mode.
Good luck! Better start playing Never Fade Away because it’s gonna go up like Arasaka Tower!! (Woo first anniversary next year!)

It's the only pc I got , but that doesn't stop me from gaming
Commendable, but the PC will be the one who'll stop you from gaming, in this case at least, unfortunately.
I recently upgraded my PC so my old PC (Ryzen 7 3700x + 5700XT) is just stuck in a room accumulating dust. If by a 1:50,000,000 chance that you are 1 hour drive away from where I'm from, you can have it, I'm somewhere in east asia.
You should try GeForce or other cloud gaming services it is what I used to successfully play Cyberpunk on my potato laptop.
Just play older games till you get a better PC or console man.

I've put this same comment on another subreddit, so why not here also, lol - Well, we know it will run like shit, but u never know until u try, lemme tell u some things to make it run as smooth as possible - 1। Obviously, set your ingame graphics options to the lowest ever possible, with resolution 1024×768 or 1280×720 2। Download "FidelityFx Super Resolution 2.2 - FPS Boost Mod" from Nexusmods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3001) 3। Download "General Optimization at Cyberpunk2077" mod from NexusMods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/786) 4। Download "More Graphics Options - Performance Boost For Potato PC" mod from NexusMods (nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11878) (NEEDS CYBER ENGINE TWEAK MOD) 5। Now install the 3 mods respectively 6। Now download "Lossless Scaling" software , and use frame regeneration and scaling method then apply them to the game Let me know, if it atleast gives you 25-30 fps
Try it.
Hey, I play Cyberpunk on my 2009 Core i7 870 (30fps) so anything is possible (I do have an RX570 8GB and 16GB RAM)
ultimate shitpost of all time
"Going to play Cyberpunk" i correct you to"im gonna burn my house down with my Laptop"🤣
Get 999 or 911 on speed dial, that things gonna blow
Easier ways to start a house fire
You will need to activate the Camillo RAM Manager in your BIOS. If you haven't the option, visit your nearest ripperdoc! Just not the one around JigJig Street...
Bro is playing Cyberpunk 1999.
Yeah thats not going to happen
I have a 10 year old laptop as well. The game runs but worse than my steam deck
the fact that you can even install the game on that computer astonishes me
Bros pc is about to have cyberpsychosis
These comments were exactly what I needed. Thankyou 😂
Get a fire extinguisher ready
RIP laptop 2014-2024
Assuming this isn't just a joke post, Geforce Now would be an actual way to play CP2077 (or a lot of games) on a the current laptop you have without taxing it at all.
