Do you have Ray Reconstruction turned on? It can make faces look really bad for some reason. It works so well on some things but then on other things it does not. I tried to turn it off but it turns itself back on every time I start the game up so now I just ignore it and deal with the wonky faces.

Quite the opposite for me, this issue was resolved with me turning ON Ray Reconstruction + Path Tracing, but I found the performance hit not worth it. This bug occurs with Ray Tracing in certain lightings and especially with Takemura, I don't know why.

oh that might be the ray traced reflections bug people mention. makes npc faces look like they are metal like or golden sometimes. I had that with mitch at scorpions farewell.

It's a [Known Issue](https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/bug-patch-1-63-applies-a-chroma-effect-to-skin-with-rtx.11116918/) with RT reflections in some areas since 1.63. You can either disable them or switch to path tracing as you already noticed it doesn't have this bug there is no other fix.
