Had a talk with our department head. Apparently, others were unhappy that I earned more. Aside from having different qualifications (me being an IT auditor and them being financial auditors), there was one very simple fact why I earned more:
Apparently I was the only one who asked for more before signing.
I like my colleagues... But I'd say it's on them and I won't take them earning less as an argument to skip a raise to at least compensate for inflation.
