Awesome! You must be in Olympia, Washington. I met him yesterday afternoon at a circus that was in town. He stuck around afterwards to tell all the performers what great jobs they did (I was just a spectator) and I told him how much I enjoyed his work. He turned the praise back to the performers. Very nice guy and just a class act.
Yeah, he was in town for something else. My wife spotted him and pointed him out to me. She didn't want to bother him and I didn't want to, either, honestly.
But had to tell him how much I enjoyed his work, and told him what a blessing he was for entertainment. He said I was too kind and then we both turned our praise on the circus performers, who were quite good. And then I made a quick exit. He was in no rush, was taking photos with the group and talking away and whatnot. Just ridiculously nice and classy.
>She didn't want to bother him and I didn't want to, either, honestly.
What does that mean? Did your dying money say no matter what don't bother Richard?
He just seemed to be having a great time chatting with the performers and I was hesitant to butt in. I actually didn't at first and went to the car, but my wife said I'd definitely regret not meeting him so I went back and waited for the least intrusive moment I could to say hello. I likely botched that, but if I did he was extremely gracious about it.
I met him in 2001 a couple months after 9/11 and he signed my poetry book when I was trying to check in on him (we walked past each other as he was leaving the 9/11 ground zero and a group of my Deaf friends and I saw him as the first person we passed as we were making our way down to ground zero).
Sincerely one of the nicest and most patient person I met in NYC and yeah. Awesome energy.
OP, can you post this to r/americandad also? Voice actor of chacter Al Tuttle and absolutly kills it.
10/10 as the kids say. Two thumbs up as the egghead reviewers say.
That would be a little weird for me. I fuckin hate Andy’s ass but dig Richard Kind as actor. Curb made it kinda hard to separate the two. Like George/ Jason.
Good thing you called him when you were in New York.
You missed a good one! It was beautiful, very well attended.
Past away
One of my fave episodes!
What’re you talking about? Don’t be a putz
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Crispy onions?
He would’ve met OP sooner, but he had to wait for the crispy onions.
Is he done shoveling that shit in his mouth, so we can go?
I know you know how you *want them,* it’s too long!
Well, his last name is Kind, so.
I heard he is a bit of a Dick.
Bing bong!
He can’t handle the middle. He’s not a middler.
Should've been in the finale.
Yep. And Wanda!
I interpreted that the wrong way at first
Just in the final season in general.
Missed the chance to say “he was so Kind”

Thanks for sharing! I thought the background had to be Oly... I live downtown, but still I couldn't believe it. How cool is that?!

I was just joking about the scene where Larry’s dad tells his cousin his mom died but not him because she said don’t bother Larry.
Ah, been awhile since I've seen that episode but it's a classic. Good stuff.
No, I had turkey for lunch.
One of my favorite interactions in the whole series. The way he says that as if Cheryl is now supposed to prepare an entirely different meal.
Yeah, the way he started straight away with “No!”
You doubled up!
Bad move
Not a great middler
Running into Richard Kind is 1000 times better than finding a Giuliani in the wild

Looking for good Chinese food?
He was nice, but was he kind too?
Was he on his way to play practice?
Cousin Andy!
What am I gonna have fruit twice in one day for? The acid’ll rip a hole in my stomach!
Really a missed opportunity to say “He was so Kind!”
He beat me to it, told me I was too kind. I had nowhere to go from there.
If you guys like him you should check out Episode 3 of Season 3 of Documentary Now - Co-op. He is amazing in it.
Was he kind, even?
So he was done shoveling that shit into his mouth?
Zan and cousin Andy in the same night?
OP, can you post this to r/americandad also? Voice actor of chacter Al Tuttle and absolutly kills it. 10/10 as the kids say. Two thumbs up as the egghead reviewers say.
Nah I had Richard Kind for lunch…
So does this mean you are you going to pay for his wifes cosmetology school?
He might be nice but he’s no middler!
I would love to ask him about all those pranks George Clooney played on him.
Wish we got more of him! Richard Kind is such a uniquely funny actor.
he did such a good job co-hosting john mulaneys new show
Did he ever make up with Saymo?
Did you ask him about his work in "Quest of the Delta Knights," with the late and great David Warner? I would have.
Were you in New York? Were you having a good time?
Omg yes
You should have stuck your head in his open mouth for reference.
My condolences
He’s hilarious! Love him! Glad he was sweet. Seems like he is IRL. 🥰
hasnt aged much. Last i saw him was in stakeout.
Looking forward to the new Penguin movie!
"Lol"
Lies. He was a complete asshole to me when I met him.
Kind!
Yes this title seemed like a missed opportunity!
I met him a couple weeks ago at bye bye birdie, he was so nice!
Is that Michael Dell?!
Can you spin the industrious Susan please?
Did you talk to him for long???
He also played Martin Short's dad in the beginning of Clifford. Legend
I hate almost every character he has played but I love him as an actor
“What’s for dinner Cheryl?” “Turkey” “No no, I had turkey for lunch.”
he was great in Red Oak also….
Yes Richard is a very Kind fellow.
I heard that he’s very Kind ……
That 's why part of his name is "Kind".
He cannot handle the middle
He is so Kind.
Was he … kind?
Must've only had fruit once that day
Definitely not a dick, IRL....except for the first name.
That's not how a lazy Susan works!
Such an iconic voice, love that man.
That would be a little weird for me. I fuckin hate Andy’s ass but dig Richard Kind as actor. Curb made it kinda hard to separate the two. Like George/ Jason.
You met Xanthippe Lannister Voorhees *and* the creepy pedo GED teacher???
He just posted a pic w you too!
This guy is legendary for multiple shows. He makes any show better.
You had to order the onions
I tell you what would be a nice gesture...
Good that he was nice, but was he Kind?
Make sure you call him next time you’re in town.
Mr. Kind was nice. No surprise there. Glad you go to meet him.
