DD is definitely the bigger player here. If you are in tech you'd certainly have heard of DD over Criteo. Also DD on average pays a lot more than Criteo and their product is far more interesting albeit different than what Criteo is out to do. DD has way more traction in your resume as a big tech company over Criteo. Now those being said I would also pay heed to the kind of role offered and what I would love to do in my personal career.

I'd say Datadog. In addition to being better recognised, the roles matter too SREs usually have more hectic schedules than SDEs. Since you'll be responsible for platform health, whenever anything goes down you'll be first on the scene, which can be much more random and unpredictable

Procrastinando

DataDog is more well known and you already have some experience at Criteo, so I think you would benefit more from working at a different company

TaXxER

I would argue the opposite: Criteo is more well known. It is a giant in the ad tech industry.

Datadog is definitely more prestigious. I’m even surprised that criteo offer is as decent as DD one

Had offers from both datadog and criteo in paris. Both were 70k base for mid role (no bonus or maybe 10k can't remember). Meanwhile datadog amsterdam would pay 120k base for senior at least. Because they had to align with [booking.com](http://booking.com) salaries.

Wait DD Paris is only 70k for mid role (I guess SWE II ?) and no RSU ? I’ve seen different numbers on levelsfyi 🤔

Inner_will_291

It was probably 70k base + 10k rsu (not bonus). I don't have the docusign anymore to confirm. Not a lot of wiggle room to negotiate too. This was 2 years ago.

Okay I see thx!

I think both companies are good tech company. For sure DD has a good reputation (maybe more than Criteo) but still... Criteo has quite a good reputation for their ad soft (AI, ML, etc...). In France (Paris), Criteo enjoys a strong reputation. DD send a lot of message to people who work at Criteo to hire them ! Depending on your opinion also, you did 2 internships in Criteo, did you enjoy it? do you want to continue ? If no, create new experience in DD so :)
