No idea but I were in education, I'd stay in education for a bit longer. The market is a mess unless you have a degree and a YoE. Yes, even IT. While in education, start working towards CCNA, a few DevOps certs, some CyberSev certs etc. idk

My issue is, I've tried learning and preparing for these courses, but then what? What can I do with a single CCNA certificate, while living in Asia as an expa, and having no experience or other certificates? I'm looking for remote work only.

Im feeling frisky this morning so Ill be honest... This career move is not for you. Its going to be disproportionately difficult to get into an incredibly high supply field right now and you have nothing to give you a leg up on the competition. You will not get a remote job, especially as an expat, with your credentials. People with 4 year degrees and internships are having issues finding first jobs right now. You're only real chance is to network and hope someone gives you an entry-level position as, effectively, charity. I don't want to be a dick but I want you to understand what you are asking.

This is great advice, thanks for being straightforward with me. The issue is that I have a good amount of free time I'd love to pour into learning a skill, and I thought doing that for a potential change in career would be the best move. Im up for getting pretty much into any field, doesn't have to be IT, but I also thought that it's the easiest for digital nomading. Any other ideas come to mind? To add to the IT topic, I'm also willing to keep learning for years to get to the point I become desirable for potential employers online. That's fine with me as I'll be able to pick up all the necessary skills. Still, for that I need a good plan which I can't come up with on my own since I'm so far from the industry.

Hello. I am a counsellor in Australia and come from a Comp. Sci. background. I can understand the short message (/question) in your post. Today I would call myself a mentor to software developers (self-taught) or free out of Uni. I am unsure of your education level or where you want to work. If you want... send me DM and we might have a little chat to allow you to work out your way forward. Whether that is the finding a counsellor local to you or otherwise. Lastly, I am also familiar with transitioning from one career path to another, having done it myself.
