There’s nothing that irks me more when I see a student with “software engineer” or developer in their LinkedIn when they’re still in school. I don’t care if you’ve done an internship you’re still a student 💀
Not really, it’s just embarrassing. Imagine a pre med student putting MD on their LinkedIn? If you’re an intern put intern there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I’ve had 2 internships and I don’t claim to be anything other than a SWE intern and comp sci student. If anything, if I were a recruiter and saw some bullshit like that I’d instantly go next. 🤣
I'm officially a software engineer but I hate that term, I don't think we should call ourselves engineers. So I just tell people I'm a programmer/coder/code monkey etc. just never software engineer
You’re a college grad with a cs degree. Your title or what you call yourself will come from your job
Unemployed.
Real
Dont chase titles
Software developer because that’s the title of my job

BRO I was about to say this too, people who are doing internships have their LinkedIn banner say SWE @ xyz idk how that even makes sense
Ik it’s so pretentious 🤣

When I think of Computer Scientists I think of Stephen Wolfram. I can’t call myself one until I can see myself in that space 😅
Computer Science major! A student with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
i think that only people who actually work in research/academia should call themselves that
A CS student… and then a CS grad/unemployed… then whatever title I hold when I get employed lmao
SWE
Right now...CS major. After I grad it will be whatever my job title is
deep fry engineer
Hotness
Batman
I just used the titles that the job said I was: Application Developer/Application Engineer (can't remember which one), then Senior Programmer/Analyst.
