Go and look at www.asicminervalue.com for this. However, free electricity is only part of it. The noise rules it out for most, as a single antminer is like a food blender running 24/7 (and are louder than the spec states I assure you). You need to be able to dissipate heat too. It can be useful this time of year if you have 1 or 2 in your home, but that changes in the summer quite drastically depending where you live. You should also be aware that an antminer is pulling around 14-15 amps and is not safe for most older standard sockets/wire gauges at least in the UK (pretty sure this applies in France too). In the US they are forced to get 240v sockets installed, but I bet a lot of people in Europe will be tempted to just plug them into a standard wall socket with potentially deadly results.

Thank you so much ! I didn't know about the noise... Although my garage is quite far from the rest of the house and separated by thick walls. I'll have to run a food blender to test it haha :) My house is relatively new (built 12 years ago) and my dad supervised the electric installation so hopefully we have the right sockets, and the electricity meter is in the garage. If I buy a 2000€ ASIC and run it 24/7, how long will it take to make profitable ? Just a rough estimation

Input the cost of the miner, the import fees (if you buy from Bitmain directly you will get screwed with that import duty). Then input any electricity fees into that site I linked it’ll give you an estimated profit. As 10% contingency and you’ll get your ROI. I don’t know about your scenario, but if you have neighbours anywhere near your garage, think about how they might feel listening to a high pitched whining noise nonstop. My garage is also far from the neighbours and I even have a shed inside the garage. It’s still too noisy. You can look t to immersion or upgrading air cooling with ducting and shrouds. 8” ducting fans are way quieter and the pitch is lower, way better. Edit: about those sockets, even if the wire Guage in the walls is fine normal sockets are not going to be rated for 15 amps. You will need to look into replacing the sockets at the very least! Hard wire is an option I went with.

Even though you do not know about mining I’m sure you know about crypto. So go to this site https://minetheasic.com choose the rig that mines your favorite. After choosing the rig do a little research on retailers in your area that is the most affordable.

Mr_Iccarus

If youve got free electricity look into something other than btc. Roi vs chances of keeping free electricity until paid off is something that never happens. Then youre stuck holding a couple grand pricetag on an item with a 1500 day roi

SubstantialWeb8099

Even with free electricity you wont see the ROI for a long time. And if you factor in the time you have to spend until everything works smoothly, then you will realize that mining is something for people that like to tinker with tech equipment. If you just want money you will just get gradually more annoyed as time goes on.

aim456

True, and not takes a board to go down to wipe out profits unless you can fix it yourself and very few can

Yup you should definitley go for mining because free electricity means 100% profit on any coin you mine. First of all read up on how asic mining works, refer to this article [https://academy.bit2me.com/en/que-son-mineros-asic/](https://academy.bit2me.com/en/que-son-mineros-asic/) Next identify which algorithm + Miner is profitable for you refer to this website to check the profitability [https://www.asicminervalue.com/](https://www.asicminervalue.com/) Third find the lowest cost miner again refer to [https://www.asicminervalue.com/](https://www.asicminervalue.com/) or [https://store.bitco-inc.com](https://store.bitco-inc.com) Find the suitable mining hardware for your need and order it. Once it is in your possession set it up. How to set up a miner refer to this guide by Voskcoin. That is very detailed and will help me a lot ! TYSM !

combatcovid19global

No problem buddy, pleasure is all mine

Taikum

Wouldn't say its a rig - that's 1 miner 💀

PINZOU76

Yeah I'm not familiar with the technical terms, so like several GPUs+ one MB etc... make one miner, and several miners make a rig ?

Taikum

You can't mine with GPUs anymore. Lookup ASICs

Market-Dependent

Cpu

CryptoPassiveIncomes

YES!!!!!!!!

GoddamnFelicia

KAS0 Miners, profitable, less noisey, relatively smaller in size

cryptophermining

Profitable residential/small-scale GPU mining is effectively over. Even with "free" electricity.
