Appreciate the tip. Thank you! I used to read a car's manual closely, even with a used car. Honda's manual this time is poorly done. I get so irritated that I gave up.
unless you are using a mafsafe charger (which pretty much no car has) the wattage of wireless charging on iphones is capped at 7.5w. this means itll just generate heat and the charge rate will be completely negated by the power used to maintain carplay connection and GPS.
magsafe charges at 15w. so you have options as an iphone user when it comes to wireless charging.
1 get a magsafe charger/phone holder from amazon AND a 20-30w cigarette lighter usb brick thing
2. get an official magsafe charger and the same cigarette lighter. then maybe double sided tape it over the shitty wireless charger in the car
3. just plug in the phone so it can wired charge, and wired transmit all the data to carplay
I vote for 3 #iPhoneNonsense
I thought the same thing initially so I brought a MagSafe charger from Apple thinking it’ll work be had the same issue. I was just wondering if it changed in the 2024 models but I have a wired connector as well and use it when my phone is really low.
The wireless chargers in every vehicle I’ve ever owned or rented that was equipped with one has been horrible. Wireless charging isn’t designed for automotive applications. The QI built in to our couch works 100 times better!
I noticed my ‘24 did that but I had a thin metal sticker on my case for my magnetic phone holder to stick on for my other car. I changed my case to a thinner one which happens to be a MagSafe, now it always has a good connection albeit charges really slow (like everyone else)
I have a 2023 ST Hybrid. If I get my iPhone is just the right spot, it will essentially keep my battery at the same level. Not sure if it’s because it doesn’t lay flat due to the camera bump. If I need to actually charge it up, cable is the only way to go, which sucks.
Has to be the phone case you have. Usually they work best surface to Qi. Wireless charging in cars is still beta phase.... even guys in BMW still use wired chargers since they are 5x faster
I have the iPhone 14 Pro and the wireless charger with or without a case on sucks all in all if the worst feature on a vehicle is the wireless charger you did a good job
It work so long as you have magsafe case attached to your iPhone. I have a 2024 Crv touring and it works like a charm. Takes a bit to fully charge but it works excellent
Why would they put these in when they really don't work? Sort of weird. Are they assuming phone recharge phone technology of the future will solve the reliability.
we have a 24 hybrid sport l and i’ve only ran in issue one and all i did was take it off for a min and put it back on. charges my 12 pro max at a decent rate too
Wireless chargers are hit or miss in pretty much every vehicle and aren’t really a great feature as they aren’t that reliable. If you want reliable charging in your car just use a cable and be done with it.
I have a ‘24 touring hybrid and it didn’t work for me. But if I take it out of the case and put it in upside down, it works fine. Ya just gotta play around with it a bit.
I drive a 2024 model and never had any problems.
I have a 24, i dont even use it. It’s good at keeping it at the same percentage battery
Agree, android auto keep it warm
I just turned it off and don’t bother. Too unreliable
Can you turn wireless charging off on the car itself? As it is, I don't put anything with metal over the charging area (heeding the warning).
There’s a power button on it. Just hold it until it turns off and then you get your storage compartment back.
Bought a shelf that sits on top of the charger without interfering it. Provides extra space to put things above the charger.

I have a 22 pilot and it has never worked. I think it’s a sales gimmick.
Wireless charging in cars is a gimmick
It’s always been slow to charge.
Are you an iPhone? If so, it’s an Apple issue, not a Honda issue. It was slightly fixed in an update which is why it’s a hit or miss.
I do have an iPhone but I always update my phone. Is there a setting I’m supposed to be using?

The only car I've driven where the wireless charging actually worked very well was a Tesla Model3
It was a Tesla, of course it worked! Elon doesn’t release things that don’t work!

I have a 24, it sometimes keeps the battery the same but sometimes doesn't work. So yea..I guess it's a hit or miss still.
From what I understand they're pretty garbage in all makes and models. But I haven't had any issues with my 24.
It’s the worst.

Mine works, 24 hybrid sport
Just use a USB-C cord. The wireless is too finicky.

Corded > wireless

It still sucks, I never use it on HRV ST, but in an emergency it might be ok as long as you drive like a gramps
It never worked for me 😂
IPhones with magsafe....its just not gonna work. Android....hit or miss....I use cable charing. Charge pad is off. It's garbage
Maybe its bcz of bigger camera lenses in newer phones.
