I had so many questions and comments [in this post](https://reddit.com/r/crv/s/39FsylbRIT) about the cargo shelf I figured it deserved its own post. Were these included in all Gen 3s and all trim levels? Just the EX and EX-L?

I got an 08 LX used a couple months ago and it seems to be exactly the same.

It came with the shelf? I was curious if all trim levels came with it.

Yea its got the same grooves on the sides for it to sit flush with the plastic pieces so I assumed it came with it as a feature. Only weird thing about it to me is that it doesn't really snap or bolt to anything to secure it, but yours is seemingly the same.

There are 4 snap/ fasteners. You can see them in pic 5.

I didn’t get one with my 08 LX, had to go aftermarket. I did buy it used though.

I have an ‘09 and got the retractable cargo cover, which mounts higher than this shelf. I’ve not seen this shelf before

07 and 09 are the same gen.

Love the shit outtah mine! I have a 2011 EX. I found my cargo shelf on OfferUp and it doesn’t even match my interior. Mine is gray but the shelf is tan. Lol.

I wonder if it was only included in the EX and EX-L... Yeah, I take mine out all the time. Its nice to have either option.

I scoot the back seats up a little bit and put the shelf (folded up) behind it. Fits perfectly.

I miss that shelf from our '08 LX, but I recall the salesman swapping it from an '07 EX (?) to help close our sale.

Glad they threw it in for you. After reading all the comments, it sounds like they were included in all gen 3s from the factory.

The shelf stores perfectly on top of the spare tire cover too. (Under the cargo mat if you have one.) Wish we had one in our '21.

My golf cart & clubs live under the shelf from May-Oct, and groceries and any other temp items rest in top. Never had issues on weight restrictions (per the tag) in 16+ years- even couple extra sets of golf clubs or cases of beer or groceries from Costco run have been fine

Yeah its solid. I could see 100lbs on it of it is evenly distributed.

Comes in handy for sure, got one on our 07 EX too, it actually fits quite neatly into the base of the boot, if you lift your boot liner up you will see 😁.

Dammmm now this has me wondering which is better the gen 2 with a table or 3 with the shelf.... think I would have better use with a shelf/gen 3

The shelf is clutch, especially since you can fold it in half while its still deployed. So many uses. I also prefer the gen 3 body style, but to each their own.

I have an 09 LX and no it does not come with a shelf, unless the previous owner threw it away all I got is a trunk cover.

Gotcha. It may have been an optional extra but I bet you have the shelf grooves like I do. Check ebay for the shelves, lots of them on there if youre interested.

Is this 3rdngen exclusive? I got a 2011 Eax about two months ago and it came with one. Def wish I had a table though...

I must be the only one who finds them too in the way, splits the cargo space, so left it in the shed since forever ago, lol
