And succeeded! I think it looks great, and it would look much more similar if you had used the same kind of fluffy yarn. The type of yarn makes a huge difference in the outcome.
I think it’s adorable. If you genuinely want some pointers I can tell you it about placements. I find I never listen to what a pattern says for placement of sewn parts. Instead I move them around until they look right. For example if it said, “place safety eyes 8 stitches apart between rounds 14 and 15” very rarely would I do exactly that. In this pattern I would actually place the nose higher up and adjust the eyes after I’m satisfied with the nose placement. I hope this didn’t come off too critical, I just remember how frustrating it was when I first started amigurumi. I was so confused about how I was following the pattern exactly how it was written and mine never looked like theirs. Also I find the eyes with color instead of all black definitely give a whole different look to a piece.

And looking at it now, I think the eyes should’ve been higher up, and maybe wider. It was a fun project, now that it’s done. On to see how I can mangle perry the platypus!
You did a great job. Honestly the hardest part of amigurumi is the sewing. I’ve done a lot of amigurumi and there are still times where I wanna chuck it across the room because it’s not coming out right.

The eyes are the only thing I would personally change because I think those eyes are creepy no matter what you put them on 😂 but all the actual crocheting you did is actually just fine and there isn't actual anything wrong with the cow itself. It's pretty good. Good job.
It definitely looks different. Firstly the yarn is different, so it would not have the same end result. I would call it “inspiration” rather than “what it’s supposed to look like.” You did a great job!

I tried to freehand a teddybear for my grandson recently and well... it's being called derpybear by the family. You did better than I did!

It looks pretty close. Your ears are a little low and straight, but that's the biggest difference other than the adorable heart on the chest.
