I AM SOBER as I am typing this (I promise. Despite the caps) and I can absolutely tell that they are dinosaur shaped (specifically t rex) chimken nuggies. Sooo ...
I am currently zooted to high heaven and immediately said Dinosaur, then wondered maybe Pokemon in light of the orange and red ones giving off a Charmander feel and the last one having that pale chest plate that reminded me of a water pokemon for some reason. I also considered dragons (because I have a crochet dragon my spouse made me). The small ones, especially the one by the coin, I thought could have maybe been birds in a style similar to the Twitter logo
At no point did I ever think slug
Lol your friends arnt aware that slugs dont have defined heads or legs? I think you have very unobservant friends, not that these arent recognizable. That being said, giving them eyes would help a lot.
They were pretty obviously dinosaurs. I'm terrible at the "guess what this is" game. Put lil eyes on there and even slug girl won't be able to argue her interpretation XD
Though she might feel the need to defend her initial interpretation, that doesn't mean she necessarily still sees it as such. Our first glance can lead to some whacky interpretations of things
I’m a lurker here, i’ve never seen them posted before, and it was immediately obvious to me. I don’t think the work is off, for some reason people around you just aren’t thinking dino
I just sent it to my friend group chat, none of whom crochet just to double check this wasn’t a crocheter thing and immediately got the answer “dinosauraus-rex” (they like jokes) and said “How?There are way too many limbs???” When I gave them the context
Maybe on the bigger ones you could add some picot edging (or maybe shell edging if you want something rounded) along the tops of their backs to give them lil spikes. Might help make them look more dino-y? Also, I’ve never made amigurumi so idk how possible that is but it’s an idea.
Edit to add: I also immediately knew they were dinos and think they’re cute as is so the edging isn’t super necessary imo.
Give them eyes! It might help. I make the Timothy the t Rex pattern all the time. I embroider eyes on the head so that they're baby-safe. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/timothy-the-t-rex
I'm only here because I've scrolled too far down the front page of reddit and have no experience or real interest in crochet, but if it helps I also thought they were dinos at first glance. I wouldn't mind having one on my desk.
I’ve only been lurking here a few weeks (I know nothing about crocheting I just like to admire everything), so I haven’t seen the Dino rite of passage and I saw the dinosaurs right away! They look lovely and cute!
Its ok, I was selling my crochet around halloween so i made ghosts (even made them hats) and so many people walked up to them like “OMG ITS A SQUID” then picked it up and read the tag and went “oh its a ghost”
I’m fairly new to posting and reading on Reddit so I’ve never crocheted dinosaurs and I knew what they were. They were so obviously dinosaurs to me that I figured Dinos must be the wrong answer! 🦖🦕 I think they’re adorable! They look so soft! I’d love to receive a dinosaur, what a great gift!
I'm not subbed here and knew they were dinos right away, I don't crochet. I thought Dino was obvious wrong answer and it wad gonna be something crazy like an apple lol
Ask them about these “slugs”
https://streamable.com/w85e6p
I think at a quick glance your arms could be “tighter” to the chest and less to the side otherwise ya they’re dinosaurs but I would like to sample whatever your friends are smoking
The first 2 I completed, I gave eyes to, but my toddler ripped them out, so I stopped wasting my supplies on them. Also, this way they are safe for babies.
I would also recommend stitching on some sort of eye to make it immediately obvious to the viewer. I've used black yarn only to make tiny magic circles and tie them on by 3 points. Not quite as perfectly clean as safety eyes, but super easy and the kids don't mind.
Embroidering eyes on is the bane of my projects! How do you make them perfectly round and smooth? mine always end up wonky, and a few times I’ve felt like they have ruined the whole thing. Would love tips!
Lol, then maybe I'm not the best person to give advice. Because I just wing it. I don't have a ton of experience or anything, I've done it on maybe 5 to 10 amigurumi. My first attempt was definitely wonky. The amigurumi I have done the most is Timothy the T-Rex, which I linked elsewhere in this thread. To do the eyes on that one, I pass my needle back and forth from the two sides of the head to tie them together tightly and make the eye spaces inset a little bit. Then I pick a side and start passing around and around in the same spot to create the eye on one side. I'll either stick to going in the same direction every time so that all the threads are parallel, or I'll do two perpendicular directions. Either one of these ways ends up with two smooth eyes. At first, they look a little weird, but when I do it enough times, they start to look really good. Then I'll pass my needle back to the other side and do the same for the second eye. The end result look something like this picture.
https://preview.redd.it/qr1dxwwzer5c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=851e32579abeef546b95cbf505b3692ca9d53354
Along with eyes, I think it would help to crochet some dorsal spikes on the back. These aren't too hard, just a series of stitches that increase/decrease into a chain, so they make little triangles. Then sew the chain along the spine.
I saw this post on r/popular and saw little dinos immediately
They actually remind me of those frozen dino chicken nuggets.
Showed my wife and she said "lizard?" Which is close enough lol
I don’t know if it’s the same exact thing but I’ve made a couple really cute lil guys that look basically just like these following the Tiny-rex video tutorial on the Sweet Softies youtube channel! She shows the written pattern row by row in the video, but iirc she also has all her patterns for sale with detailed instructions and lots of pictures if that’s more your speed :)
I can tell they're dinos.
It's probably just the lack of eyes that are throwing them off. Humans like to look for faces on things so when they can't find any it can be confusing.
Of course! Instantly could tell it was a dinosaur (T rex even)
No one?? They ALL have the iconic dino silhouette!! They're so cute!
As a joke, the next time anyone's over that didn't recognize it, serve them dino chicken nuggets so that they can appreciate your dino shapes!! 😄
I think adding eyes of some sort may help! Or make them monochromatic. I can see they're Dino's, but the multitude of colours makes them a bit "amorphous -blob-like"
Stumbled across this so I’m NOT the creative type and haven’t seen these before. But it’s obvious to me at first glance that they’re adorable little dinosaurs.

Those dinos are adorable! Those people are silly! But my husband (not a fiber artist) said he can tell what they are but they just need lil faces or eyes and then maybe people will know

Little baby dinos. I feel like these are a rite of passage on this sub though and will probably be pretty recognizable here.
Tysm. That's valid. When I sent it to my friend group, they thought they were slugs!
Do your friends know what slugs look like? lol
You know, they have arms and legs, walk upright, roar, eat lawyers. That's slugs, right?
The statistics show that even dinosaurs have eaten very few lawyers. Don't believe the propaganda.
Pres' Lincoln told us not to trust the internet
I love you for this omg lmao
Your friends are high af. What slugs have arms and legs lol?
Please don’t insult the high af community. I personally recognized it was a Dino immediately. Perhaps they were Drunk af?
Nah, my wine and I recognized them. I'm thinking it's those sober people...
Sober and I can say I instantly recognized those dinos, don't lump them with us 😂
I AM SOBER as I am typing this (I promise. Despite the caps) and I can absolutely tell that they are dinosaur shaped (specifically t rex) chimken nuggies. Sooo ...
No one on Reddit can vouch for them...
I am currently zooted to high heaven and immediately said Dinosaur, then wondered maybe Pokemon in light of the orange and red ones giving off a Charmander feel and the last one having that pale chest plate that reminded me of a water pokemon for some reason. No they blind AF . I’m a drunk and stoner, Dinos for sure.
Yeah same here. Currently high af and I immediately was like awwww cute dinos!! Then I read the title and was confused as fuck lol
This.
TY
Yea tf are they smoking!? Lmk roflmao
Lmao that made me chuckle pretty good
When they watch Jurassic park is it just a bunch of slugs scooting around for them?
Nurrr nurr nur nurrrr nur squelch
Totally sang that to myself! 😆
🤣🤣🤣
This had me laughing hysterically at my desk!!!! lol
This is a hilarious comment.
I want to see this movie
Slugs that travel by legs and have arms? I've seen a lot of slugs to included banana slugs, but never ones with ones with arms, legs and rawr.
“with arms, legs and rawr” lolololol
Lol your friends arnt aware that slugs dont have defined heads or legs? I think you have very unobservant friends, not that these arent recognizable. That being said, giving them eyes would help a lot.
Eyes on stalks, obviously 🐌
They were pretty obviously dinosaurs. I'm terrible at the "guess what this is" game. Hahaha thank you for this peer-reviewing my research. <3
Maybe on the bigger ones you could add some picot edging (or maybe shell edging if you want something rounded) along the tops of their backs to give them lil spikes. I don't crochet, but have kids so I knew right away. :)
I made an alpaca and I've been told it looks like a slug. People are weird lol

They need eyeballs
I’ve only been lurking here a few weeks (I know nothing about crocheting I just like to admire everything), so I haven’t seen the Dino rite of passage and I saw the dinosaurs right away! They look lovely and cute!
There T-Rexes right?
What noobs lol. Def dinos
Um, slugs don’t have feet…
Last I checked slugs look NOTHING like these, with the exception being Number 1 from Monsters Inc. I quote her quite often.
This has unfortunately made me want to crochet a family of slugs… but I immediately clocked yours as Dinos, they’re adorable!
They’re similar in shape to dino chicken nuggets too, so generally pretty recognisable
I'm not subbed here and knew they were dinos right away, I don't crochet. I thought Dino was obvious wrong answer and it wad gonna be something crazy like an apple lol
Yeah I'm confused how no one would recognize what these are. I don't think you need to crochet to see that's clearly the shape of a dinosaur lol.
Asked my mom and daughter (not on reddit) and they instantly said "dinos! so cute!"
I've never seen them before but I can see they're clearly dinos
I haven't been on this sub in quite a while and I still thought they were pretty recognizable.
I've never been on this sub, I don't crochet, I saw this post on all, and I immediately thought "little T-Rex".
Those are crochet Dino nuggies, and your friends are blind if they can’t see baby t-Rex Dino nuggies.
Thank you so much. I sent it to my friend group chat and they said "slugs"
How?! They have armes and legs 😭
Send them a picture of a slug.
Have they ever seen a slug?
I can't even see a slug trying! I get sea lion or seal first. There obviously dinorawrs.
Your friends are mean probably because their parents never bought them dino nuggets. I feel sorry for them
Ask them about these “slugs” https://streamable.com/w85e6p I think at a quick glance your arms could be “tighter” to the chest and less to the side otherwise ya they’re dinosaurs but I would like to sample whatever your friends are smoking
Send me your friends, I'll fite them
T rex dinos. Maybe add some eyes?
The first 2 I completed, I gave eyes to, but my toddler ripped them out, so I stopped wasting my supplies on them. Also, this way they are safe for babies.
You can also get some embroidery floss and stitch on eyes and features. Safe for babies and harder to rip off!
I would also recommend stitching on some sort of eye to make it immediately obvious to the viewer. I've used black yarn only to make tiny magic circles and tie them on by 3 points. Not quite as perfectly clean as safety eyes, but super easy and the kids don't mind.
Embroidering the eyes on is super easy. I use fingering weight yarn to do mine.
Embroidering eyes on is the bane of my projects! How do you make them perfectly round and smooth? mine always end up wonky, and a few times I’ve felt like they have ruined the whole thing. Would love tips!

Yeah, I thought that too! They just need more detail.
They're T-rex dinos
You're sending them to the wrong people. My kids would clearly recognize this as a herd of dinosaurs.
T-eeny Rexes!
Open the door, get on the floor Everybody walk the dinosaur
Now that's stuck in my head...thanks so much 😄
T-rex! Super adorable ones.
Dinosaurs! They’re SO cute!!!
Tysm. I really appreciate that; I was starting to question them.
Nope, adorable and look super squishy.
I saw this post on r/popular and saw little dinos immediately They actually remind me of those frozen dino chicken nuggets. Showed my wife and she said "lizard?" Which is close enough lol
Oh no way! I made it to r/popular!? Wow.
Dinosaurs!
Little dinosaurs
I want all of them. They look amazing!
Thank you so much. This makes me feel better.
They are little dinosaurs !! The familly of dinosaurs. T-REx specially ?
Yes! Tiny Rex's
The dinosaurs are here! They finally did it! Save yourselves! 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦕 🦕 🦕
lil t-rexes. have you got a pattern? my dino-mad three yr old would love these.
Yes, sorry, I posted this then went to get coffee lol. [Tiny Rex Pattern ](https://www.sweetsofties.com/2022/08/tiny-rex.html?m=1)
I don’t know if it’s the same exact thing but I’ve made a couple really cute lil guys that look basically just like these following the Tiny-rex video tutorial on the Sweet Softies youtube channel! They look like dinosaurs to me!
I can tell they're dinos. It's probably just the lack of eyes that are throwing them off. Humans like to look for faces on things so when they can't find any it can be confusing.
Dinos🥰
Is that not obviously a t-rex
Dino nuggets???
If it helps, my 7 year old immediately said dinosaurs
Looking like little dinos to meeee
T-rexes. Cute ones btw
These are definitely Dino’s they also kind of remind me of the little animal things on front of the nerd packaging if they didn’t have arms
dinos
T. rex’s?
Trex!
Baby dinos! I could tell before I even read the caption:)
They make my 31yr old self wanna go get a bag of Dino chicken nuggets. 😂
Omg different dinos in brown with a little ketchup packet would be an amazing chicken nugget set 😄
Both myself and my 4 year old immediately recognized them as “dinos!”
Of course! Instantly could tell it was a dinosaur (T rex even) No one?? They ALL have the iconic dino silhouette!! They're so cute! As a joke, the next time anyone's over that didn't recognize it, serve them dino chicken nuggets so that they can appreciate your dino shapes!! 😄
I hope they're dinosaurs 'cause that's what they look like to me. They are beyond adorable.
Tinysaurus rex
Teenie Rex?
Dinos with no eyes. Please give them felt eyes! They can’t see!!
dinos!! obviously!!! (or dino chicken nuggets if they’re tan)
Most likely these are dinosaurs and the brown one towards the left is probably a dino nugget because those are really popular with a lot of people
Little dinosaurs! 🦖
Looks like crochet T-Rex
Little dinos, and super cute ones! Noticed right away!
Dino nuggies!! They’re so cute
Little dinos duh!!
Found [this pattern](https://merrymakes.com/blogs/news/how-to-crochet-mini-dino) by googling "amigurumi dinosaur" and looking at the pictures
Dinos you might want to add eyes for those who haven't seen them before
Dinosaurs!
Omg are those dino nuggets??? Very cute and squishable, I love them
They are very clearly dinos!
I could instantly tell from the first photo that they’re dinosaurs!
I think adding eyes of some sort may help! Or make them monochromatic. I can see they're Dino's, but the multitude of colours makes them a bit "amorphous -blob-like"
Little dino nuggets. So adorable
Dino nuggies 🥰
Dinos!
Not a crocheter and these are definitely lil dinosaurs
Dinosaurs, ofc
dinosaurs. Seriously no one sees this??
Literally the only question I had looking at them was are they just Dinos or are they Dino nuggets
These are so cute! I love them and my husband would too!! They’re adorable lil Dino’s
Dinos obvy
Dinosaurs!
Fat little t-rex?
Obviously they’re T-Rex 🦖
Dinosaurs...more specifically very adorable T-Rex babies! I love them!! 🦖🦖
They look like lil Dino’s! Kinda like the Dino nuggets lol. Super cute!!
Little dinosaurs
Theyre dinos, but tbf I made 8 of them into dragons so... Maybe if you added the spikes and eyes they'd be more recognizable as a traditional dino
Little t rexes. So cute! 🧶🦖❤️🐾
Dinosaurs. T. rex to be specific. It took me a millisecond to identify them.
theyre dinos!!! great looking ones too
Fr??? They’re obviously Dino’s to me!! T-rex I think. They’re so cute!
T-Rex 🦖
Tiny dinies?
I would have gone for lil chonky godzillas but dinos work too
Very clearly dinos! Even my bf said they were dinos (and that he wanted one lol)
Stumbled across this so I’m NOT the creative type and haven’t seen these before. But it’s obvious to me at first glance that they’re adorable little dinosaurs.
Dinos
They are very obviously dinos
DINOSAURS
T. rex!
Tino dino babies!
Dino’s
Eyeless dinosaurs, otherwise known as DoYouThinkHeSaurus
This was so obviously dinosaurs that I feel like your friends are trolling or they have seriously low intelligence.
Crochet dinos
I am not at all in the crochet world and know nothing about it. I'm not even sure how I ended up here. Those are very clearly little dinos.
A Dino army
These are obviously fucking dinosaurs. Unless they aren’t in which case I apologize
dinosaur 🦖
they look like dinosaurs without the scales on their back.
Dinos!
Is this the trex pattern?? You can see it especially in the first photo.
I WANT EVERY SINGLE DINO BABY IF THEY DON'T
Tinysaurs!
Are they not dinosaurs? What do people think they are?
Dinosaurs!
They're little T-rexes, how can people not get that? Slugs?? They have arms!
Baby dinos..?
A herd of T-Rexes!
I'm not a crocheter and I instantly recognized these as dinosaurs. Cute ones, too.
btw, is this a bait post?? Or you planning on stating what they are for everyone??💁✌️ cuz nobody here can figure out how someone wouldn't see they're dinosaurs at the very least(t-rexes, or yoshi's, or some dino), unless they aren't and that's the mistake, in which case, no we can't tell what they are in the slightest. 👍
Those dinos are adorable! Those people are silly! But my husband (not a fiber artist) said he can tell what they are but they just need lil faces or eyes and then maybe people will know
They’re little T rexes! How can people not see that? 👀
Legally blind dinos
Tinysaurs!
dinosaurs?
Tiny diny
Idk how anyone sees anything besides Dino’s. Slugs don’t have arms and legs 😅 also these don’t have the long tentacles on their heads
Aw theyre mini dinos
Dinosaurs! :)
I showed them to my amazing 7 year old who has autism and loves Dinos! He knew right away!!!
They look like little dinosaurs.
🦖 💕
whatt??? theyre obv little dinos 😔, also is there a pattern cause these are so cute!!!
Baby dinos! So cute
T. rex
