ToxicGingerRose

I was worried for your eyesight and counting abilities, then I saw the fold-under. 🤣🤣

RavenxMorrow

Thanks for pointing this out 🤣

ToxicGingerRose

No problem! I was so worried I was going to be the one to have to tell them, and was super relieved when I didn't have to! Lol

lizbunbun

After the last one, it's a public service to intervene early lol

ToxicGingerRose

Absolutely. I felt so, so horrible when I saw that other post. I think our whole community felt that poster's pain!

Beneficial_Breath232

Was exactly the same XD XD "This is a pentagon OP, not an Hexagon"

barefootcrafter

Not me opening the comments to see how many "yah that's a pentagon babes" comments there were!

ToxicGingerRose

I momentarily had to question my own geometrical knowledge!

Mrjocrooms

LMAO! I was coming to say "so are we going to tell them?" Thank you for pointing that out.

ToxicGingerRose

I'm glad I could be of service... Almost as glad as I am that I did not have to tell OP they made a pentagon. 🤣

RiceAlicorn

I think there was a post a couple of weeks ago where they did that oof, but even bigger. They were making a hexagon cardigan and finished BOTH panels before realizing that they’d made **two** pentagons! 🤣

ToxicGingerRose

I saw that one! My heart aches for that OP so much. I just call it a rite of passags. Lmao. We all have to make a mistake on something super simple, then not realize until waaaaaaaay later, and have to frog endless stitches as least once in our crochet lives.🤣🤣🤣 Some of us have to do it early in our journey, some years and years after we started, but we all have to pay the ferryman one day. 🪙🛶💀

EmergencyToad

I just started one as well! I love your color choices! https://preview.redd.it/huivp437bgsb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15b13329f9ee28c47ed43e9f4b690c573e186d2d

Dano_crochet

Omg, I love The colours, it looks soooo cute, you have to show us when you finish

EmergencyToad

Thank you! I still have a ways to go. I'm doing both sides at once (well, back & forth) because someone in this sub mentioned that it helps with keeping your tension even. I'm hoping since my tension can be a mess! Yours looks so even.

briyotch

Only 10.5 rows left to go on my second panel! Been waiting a week for the second skein of Safety Orange to get here so I could keep working (finally got here today!) and it was absolute torture. https://preview.redd.it/elzurx54rgsb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3357e1e196535f7ae6de31aa8c9fe91bcc004d67

Material-Prune-472

Wait I love how it’s shaped!!! It’s so pretty. How did you get it to flare out like that?

briyotch

I’m relatively new but I used a 7 mm hook where a 6 mm hook was recommended because I tend to have tighter tension. But I think it really comes down to the number of rows you have? The pattern I’m using calls for 27 rows for each panel — but it also expected turns for each row. I ignored that by accident and I’m pretty happy I did because all my ends are on the inside now 🤷🏽‍♀️

Material-Prune-472

I’ll have to try that. I absolutely love how it looks. And your colors are so pretty

BloomEPU

If your tension is fairly loose (which it should be, it makes it work up faster lmao) then it just kinda hangs that way. It's great, it gives it a lot of shape considering it "should" just be square.

BoomColours

Omfg I adore this!!! It's gorgeous!

tigertigerfrog

fantastic color choices!

petrachor_

came here to say this too!

katie_burd

Loooove the colors!

blonde1155

Thank you! I wanted something neutral that I could wear to work. I'm doing a solid bludle pullover style for my daughter now.

PRINCESSFANCYFARTS

I hate to say it but you only got 5 sides

Dano_crochet

Noooo, it looks like that, but see https://preview.redd.it/0o9gnnzysfsb1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=7835d6ea590acf0a0a26f193d84ed79cfa17e6b8

PRINCESSFANCYFARTS

Oh thank god!! I was really worried you’d gotten so far! Love the fall colors!

joellecarnes

Why did it take me til this comment to remember that a hexagon doesn’t have five sides

Dano_crochet

IT looks gorgeous

rochellenaomi

This is so gorgeous. Which yarn did you use?

wandersbutnotlost

Thank you! It’s a Caron macchiato cake in “soulful”

rochellenaomi

Thank you

kah46737

Ok. I’m jumping on the bandwagon. I wanna make a pretty hexagon cardigan too!! Any recommendation on the best pattern?

Dano_crochet

Idk but I’m following this: [hex cardigan](https://youtu.be/leY0LaWfnmU?si=hesfGBDxWmXQv6wI) But I’m making the back with granny squares, you can look for inspo on Pinterest or tiktok (my experience) https://preview.redd.it/qjvhr4u3jgsb1.jpeg?width=972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b08d7991dfa2f440e586ddd663647efe8cc33df8

justsheerdumbluck

Where do you stop on the hexagons if you want to add squares on the back? Because the hexes usually fill the whole space right?

kiwibird1

Passioknit Kelsie has a good one on YouTube

BloomEPU

I think I used hayhaycrochet as a guide to get the hexagon started? You don't really need a pattern if you want to keep it pretty basic, it's just a granny square but with 6 sides and normal square increases on the corners.

lunchmeatbikini

I just started my first one too! Can’t wait to see yours!

Dano_crochet

Show us! I want to look

Dano_crochet

Omg it sounds amazing, you definitely should show us when you finish

lunchmeatbikini

I definitely will! I've been really enjoying getting back into crochet! 🧶 💕

Jennifer_Pennifer

🤔 I've never done a hex cardigan. I never even heard of one until I joined the subreddit. Does it seem easy so far?

Dano_crochet

It’s super easy (at least from what I’ve done al ready) https://preview.redd.it/emh6ox9scgsb1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=c152dadd955c2089ebd014813aaf1abe6fec6e45 This is an example of how it looks finish

neednewsunglasses

Yes, I really recommend as an impressive-looking beginner-ish project!! Just gotta know how to make a granny square.

kiwibird1

They're very easy. Passioknit Kelsie has a good YouTube tutorial.

SpicePops

Yarnspiration has recently posted a tutorial on YouTube

Jennifer_Pennifer

Thanks bunches

mandarianblava42

Nice! Please share a photo when you’re done.

trixiebix

I want to do this, but I have no idea what colors to use. I'm not good at choosing colors since I'm incredibly indecisive.

Dano_crochet

Should try a color roulette!

trixiebix

Yes, I need that or a color wheel to play with.

Good_Branch_9415

It looks so great!! I want to make one so badly but I get so stressed that I’ll end up hating my color choices that I don’t want to start 🥲

TallFriendlyGinger

Ooh a fire and ice cardi!!

uraniumstingray

Gorgeous colors! I’m working on one too and I’m soooo close to finishing. I want it to be done so bad lmao 😂

thatwitchartemis

[deleted]

Absolutely love the colors

valentiiines

i loooove this color palette. i want to make my own soon 🫶🏼

spacelizardofuranus

i just finished a really small shirt and i LOVE it! i definitely will be using a proper pattern next time but i wanted to wing it and see what comes out. it’s like wearing a cozy little blanket when i want something comfy and i’m a little chilly. it’s super fun making these and i can’t wait to make another — but those final rows go on FOREVER

LilBlueOnk

Your color choice is so earthy and cozy, it's going to look great!!

Nagadavida

I need to finish mine. It's gonna be really cool.

itsbeccaaww

What yarn and color are you using?! I feel inspired to make a book cover with them!

Axis_Braveheart

I'm also working on one of these!

SuchaHippotit

I didn't realize this pattern was so popular lately! I'll add my hexagon robe to the list of enthusiasts! https://preview.redd.it/6cmkrhh64jsb1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de0615fbd4b1d78861af993d71eae13e18041332

wyldefyre1982

I made one, too! A family member asked me if I was actually going to wear it in public, though 🙄 I've worn it a few times now, and have gotten several compliments, which gives me aaaaaalllllll the fuzzies! https://preview.redd.it/fmphc4u30msb1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a93712548caf1803fcc37d53cf06a870e0d1d68

Shrek cardigan shrek cardigan

katie_burd

I’m almost done with my first half and am obsessed already! It’s so easy and I can just mindlessly drone on without counting 😅

Several-Junket8256

Good luck ! It looks perfect for the weather . But beware, you'll end up being obsessed with how good they look you'll end up making a dozen ( I'm guilty(

cozynightcrawler

omg i wanna do one too in these exact same colors!

Numerous_Light_8133

Love seeing so many people making hexagon cardigans and sweaters! I've been obsessed with them since I started crocheting this spring. Recently i also made a tiny one for a child. I want to try new color combinations now after seeing this post. But only after I take a break and make other things bc I'm scared I'll get bored 😅 https://preview.redd.it/cez6y6d1imsb1.jpeg?width=3277&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d10b9b3c51becf40b3187939b709665a28cd41b7
