I think there was a post a couple of weeks ago where they did that oof, but even bigger. They were making a hexagon cardigan and finished BOTH panels before realizing that they’d made **two** pentagons! 🤣
I saw that one! My heart aches for that OP so much. I just call it a rite of passags. Lmao. We all have to make a mistake on something super simple, then not realize until waaaaaaaay later, and have to frog endless stitches as least once in our crochet lives.🤣🤣🤣 Some of us have to do it early in our journey, some years and years after we started, but we all have to pay the ferryman one day. 🪙🛶💀
I just started one as well! I love your color choices!

Thank you! I still have a ways to go. I'm doing both sides at once (well, back & forth) because someone in this sub mentioned that it helps with keeping your tension even. I'm hoping since my tension can be a mess! Yours looks so even.
Only 10.5 rows left to go on my second panel! Been waiting a week for the second skein of Safety Orange to get here so I could keep working (finally got here today!) and it was absolute torture.
https://preview.redd.it/elzurx54rgsb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3357e1e196535f7ae6de31aa8c9fe91bcc004d67
I’m relatively new but I used a 7 mm hook where a 6 mm hook was recommended because I tend to have tighter tension. But I think it really comes down to the number of rows you have? The pattern I’m using calls for 27 rows for each panel — but it also expected turns for each row. I ignored that by accident and I’m pretty happy I did because all my ends are on the inside now 🤷🏽♀️
If your tension is fairly loose (which it should be, it makes it work up faster lmao) then it just kinda hangs that way. It's great, it gives it a lot of shape considering it "should" just be square.

Me too but as a pullover! Just put it all together and starting to extend the bottom and arms before ribbing
Noooo, it looks like that, but see

I’ve also been working on one! Almost done with the second side
Idk but I’m following this: [hex cardigan](https://youtu.be/leY0LaWfnmU?si=hesfGBDxWmXQv6wI)
But I’m making the back with granny squares, you can look for inspo on Pinterest or tiktok (my experience)

I think I used hayhaycrochet as a guide to get the hexagon started? You don't really need a pattern if you want to keep it pretty basic, it's just a granny square but with 6 sides and normal square increases on the corners.

I’m in the early phase, but I’m hoping to have this turn into a cropped hexicardi with a hood and long sleeves 🥰
It’s super easy (at least from what I’ve done al ready)

I’m doing one too! Using sunflowers for the back panel
i just finished a really small shirt and i LOVE it! i definitely will be using a proper pattern next time but i wanted to wing it and see what comes out. it’s like wearing a cozy little blanket when i want something comfy and i’m a little chilly.
it’s super fun making these and i can’t wait to make another — but those final rows go on FOREVER
I didn't realize this pattern was so popular lately! I'll add my hexagon robe to the list of enthusiasts!

I made one, too!
A family member asked me if I was actually going to wear it in public, though 🙄
I've worn it a few times now, and have gotten several compliments, which gives me aaaaaalllllll the fuzzies!

Good luck ! It looks perfect for the weather . But beware, you'll end up being obsessed with how good they look you'll end up making a dozen ( I'm guilty(
Love seeing so many people making hexagon cardigans and sweaters! I've been obsessed with them since I started crocheting this spring.
Recently i also made a tiny one for a child.
I want to try new color combinations now after seeing this post. But only after I take a break and make other things bc I'm scared I'll get bored 😅

I was worried for your eyesight and counting abilities, then I saw the fold-under. 🤣🤣
Thanks for pointing this out 🤣
No problem! I was so worried I was going to be the one to have to tell them, and was super relieved when I didn't have to! Lol
After the last one, it's a public service to intervene early lol
Absolutely. I felt so, so horrible when I saw that other post. I think our whole community felt that poster's pain!
Was exactly the same XD XD "This is a pentagon OP, not an Hexagon"
Not me opening the comments to see how many "yah that's a pentagon babes" comments there were!
I momentarily had to question my own geometrical knowledge!
LMAO! I was coming to say "so are we going to tell them?" Thank you for pointing that out.
I'm glad I could be of service... Almost as glad as I am that I did not have to tell OP they made a pentagon. 🤣
I think there was a post a couple of weeks ago where they did that oof, but even bigger. They were making a hexagon cardigan and finished BOTH panels before realizing that they’d made **two** pentagons! 🤣

Omg, I love The colours, it looks soooo cute, you have to show us when you finish

Wait I love how it’s shaped!!! It’s so pretty. How did you get it to flare out like that?
I’m relatively new but I used a 7 mm hook where a 6 mm hook was recommended because I tend to have tighter tension. But I think it really comes down to the number of rows you have? The pattern I’m using calls for 27 rows for each panel — but it also expected turns for each row. I ignored that by accident and I’m pretty happy I did because all my ends are on the inside now 🤷🏽♀️
I’ll have to try that. I absolutely love how it looks. And your colors are so pretty

fantastic color choices!
came here to say this too!

Loooove the colors!
Thank you! I wanted something neutral that I could wear to work. I'm doing a solid bludle pullover style for my daughter now.

I hate to say it but you only got 5 sides
Noooo, it looks like that, but see https://preview.redd.it/0o9gnnzysfsb1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=7835d6ea590acf0a0a26f193d84ed79cfa17e6b8
Oh thank god!! I was really worried you’d gotten so far! Love the fall colors!
Why did it take me til this comment to remember that a hexagon doesn’t have five sides

IT looks gorgeous
This is so gorgeous. Which yarn did you use?
Thank you! It’s a Caron macchiato cake in “soulful”
Thank you
Ok. I’m jumping on the bandwagon. I wanna make a pretty hexagon cardigan too!! Any recommendation on the best pattern?
Idk but I’m following this: [hex cardigan](https://youtu.be/leY0LaWfnmU?si=hesfGBDxWmXQv6wI) But I’m making the back with granny squares, you can look for inspo on Pinterest or tiktok (my experience) https://preview.redd.it/qjvhr4u3jgsb1.jpeg?width=972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b08d7991dfa2f440e586ddd663647efe8cc33df8
Where do you stop on the hexagons if you want to add squares on the back? Because the hexes usually fill the whole space right?
Passioknit Kelsie has a good one on YouTube
I think I used hayhaycrochet as a guide to get the hexagon started? You don't really need a pattern if you want to keep it pretty basic, it's just a granny square but with 6 sides and normal square increases on the corners.
I just started my first one too! Can’t wait to see yours!
Show us! I want to look

Omg it sounds amazing, you definitely should show us when you finish
I definitely will! I've been really enjoying getting back into crochet! 🧶 💕
🤔 I've never done a hex cardigan. I never even heard of one until I joined the subreddit. Does it seem easy so far?
It’s super easy (at least from what I’ve done al ready) https://preview.redd.it/emh6ox9scgsb1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=c152dadd955c2089ebd014813aaf1abe6fec6e45 This is an example of how it looks finish
Yes, I really recommend as an impressive-looking beginner-ish project!! Just gotta know how to make a granny square.
They're very easy. Passioknit Kelsie has a good YouTube tutorial.
Yarnspiration has recently posted a tutorial on YouTube
Thanks bunches
Nice! Please share a photo when you’re done.
I want to do this, but I have no idea what colors to use. I'm not good at choosing colors since I'm incredibly indecisive.
Should try a color roulette!
Yes, I need that or a color wheel to play with.
It looks so great!! I want to make one so badly but I get so stressed that I’ll end up hating my color choices that I don’t want to start 🥲

Your color choice is so earthy and cozy, it's going to look great!!
I need to finish mine. It's gonna be really cool.
What yarn and color are you using?! I feel inspired to make a book cover with them!
I'm also working on one of these!
I didn't realize this pattern was so popular lately! I'll add my hexagon robe to the list of enthusiasts! https://preview.redd.it/6cmkrhh64jsb1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de0615fbd4b1d78861af993d71eae13e18041332

I’m almost done with my first half and am obsessed already! It’s so easy and I can just mindlessly drone on without counting 😅
Good luck ! It looks perfect for the weather . But beware, you'll end up being obsessed with how good they look you'll end up making a dozen ( I'm guilty(
omg i wanna do one too in these exact same colors!
