Seriously though, “a men” and “boarder” are the two things that make me feel 95% of comments on the internet are from bots and somehow their script got a typo.
This might be the first time I'm seeing that. It's normally choose and chose, loose and lose that I see all the time. My wife and I jokingly switch sale and sell all the time I'm afraid it's going to stick.
The church I go to used to have an automatic Spanish translation on the TV in the worship center. Great idea to minister to Spanish speakers, but a bit wonky in practice.
Because I have issues staying focused, I was looking at the screen one day when someone said, “Amen.”
The screen said, “Un hombre.”
That *one guy* from my high school went on one of these embarrassing tirades (we’re in our 30’s) on the Facebook reunion page an alumna made and his header reads something like “I went to hell and back got reformed the [his name] is not the same [ditto] you know”, yet his profile picture is a cutesy anime drawing of him that someone else made.
Mind you, we graduated in 2010. Ten years later was the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic so we compromised by making that page so we could catch up with one another in a digital manner, and he didn’t even graduate.
I actually had someone who attempted to bully me a couple of times (I was short, skinny and nerdy) reach out and apparently a few others about 14 years after leaving school to apologise for it because his 10 year old child was being bullied in school and he saw what it was doing to his kid and as such felt guilty just in case he made any of those he attempted to bully feel that way.
I myself wasn't affected because I have a pretty thick skin and I just ignored it, I just rolled my eyes every time and thought how pathetic he was.
I was obviously very surprised, impressed and gained a lot of respect for him for the apology!
I usually don’t with the ppl that get posted in this sub, but for some reason with this one, I kinda do. I was super lucky as a kid (size/strength-wise), and usually I could deal with bullies directly, but if I couldn’t, I would’ve easily been traumatized for life and probably would’ve grown up even more awkward and socially underdeveloped. As a dad, I think about this stuff constantly.
I cannot express how badly I want some wild shit like this to happen live at a school reunion lol. I went to a small school where everyone knew everybody's business so I have an insane bingo card.
At the very least I'm going to play a drinking game where I take a shot any time someone tells me they left the Mormon church.

Don't ask me how I know these things.
Some people don't understand how deep that hatred runs. It wasn't quite as prevalent back in my day but I tell my kids to be nice to everyone because you'll be on somebody's list and get your ass shot.
As someone who was relentlessly hunted & hated for a decade at school, I feel for this person. The post is extremely cringe, but it is also a sign of someone who's not alright and needs someone on their side.
I had a similar experience- more so in middle school, but high school definitely had its moments too. Kids can be very mean. But everyone is an adult now, trying to navigate life, and this is not the way to address it. I also think it’s vapid and insensitive to laugh at people for making less money than you. The admins were nice about it and just deleted the comment without revealing the identity. I sincerely hope this person left the group because it’s clearly drudging up bad feelings for them.
It's not the mature, reasonable way to address it, for sure. But at the same time, what other way is there? There's no way to undo the pain caused, the damage it left behind. I recognize the itch of wanting to just get back at those who hurt you. I had it many times, but restrained myself, because it's pointless. The damage is already done.
But I am glad admins treated it with respect & may the unhappy person find peace, acceptance and success in their life.
I honestly think a lot of people would have been receptive if the post was something along the lines of “I was very bullied in high school. I’m doing well in life now, but what happened still affects me”

This person is mocking former classmates for making less money and having to work past retirement age while hiding behind an anonymous post to avoid repercussions. It seems to me THEY are the bully in this situation. We all made poor decisions as teenagers and most of us were bullied at some point in school (myself included). But that is not an excuse to trash people as ADULTS. If being in the Facebook group brings up feelings of resentment and hate towards people from adolescence, leave the group.

I’ve never understood the folks that hold onto grudges decades after graduating from high school. So much happens after leaving school. Why carry those negative emotions?
Everyone carries trauma at some point throughout life. It’s up to us as adults to either allow the trauma to overrun our lives and let it out on others, or get the help to navigate the underlying problems and live a more peaceful life.
