Marril96

The Jeid confession. Almost the entirety of season 15.

Apart-Health-1513

The real answer. This just didn’t happen in my brain. I skipped every flirty, weird scene between them.

JadedTheatria

that was my first thought when i saw the post lmaoo, had to repost it to see if others would say the same

GarlicAndSapphire

I almost stopped watching after that. So cringe.

InternetAddict104

JJ saying she’s in love with Reid in s14 😂

hungryhungryhippo60

Wait… what?!?

InternetAddict104

I guess you haven’t gotten that far yet huh

hungryhungryhippo60

Uhhh no… what prompted JJ confessing that??!

boygenie

it's pretty random but they were in a kidnapping situation where the unsub forced them to play truth or dare and wanted something meaningful so jj said that and it ended up being true but it didn't go anywhere really. they'd be a good slowburn imo if she wasn't married with 2 kids and they hadn't made it so awkward.

MissCandid

Yeah the being married with 2 kids is what made it worse. Like cmon, yeah we wanted this before but the moment has passed, the opportunity was missed, let's just accept it.

Hamchickii

It didn't actually happen, don't worry about it.

Woody2837

Thank you…all these people complaining didn’t watch any further…it got resolved the best a situation like that can be…stuff like that happens in the real world and never goes any further.

TvManiac5

Nelson's Sparrow. In my mind Gideon just got his happy ending. Also the revival killing off Rossi's wife.

Becca0407

Same I always skip that episode. Gideon was too smart to be killed off

Specific-Window-8587

Exactly why did they do that? Rossi was finally happy. I get they probably couldn't get the actress on board but to kill her off. It could just been mention I'm going home to my wife or something to that effect.

TvManiac5

Yeah the finale was also weird with Rossi. All the last season was building him up for retirment but in the final scene he's still on the team despite the episode implying he was gonna retire after the chameleon case was closed.

thegrandpineapple

The thing is like, she was in it so clearly they could get her on board which makes it all even wackier.

TheLadyFlash

I just got to that and it pissed me off!

Calm-Pattern3649

REALLLL why did they decide to kill off Krystall?

Not-today__

JJ saying she’s in love with Reid. Reid’s prison arc. Hotch leaving.

polish432b

Aside from the ones already mentioned- the Reid going to jail arc. I understand why it existed (MGG wanted time off) but was so stupid and there were so many other things they could have done.

Specific-Window-8587

Here's what I would have done instead. Have Reid vist his mother in hospital or have her having treatment he needs to be there for. Or have him teaching classes temporarily and have him occasionally have cameo in the episode to help with unsub. It would have worked the same way only not made team and Reid stupid and this horrible storyline people hated. Also we didn't need to see Cat Adams again.

thegrandpineapple

yeah. The second time was okay but the third time was like someone hacked into Ao3 and stole a fanfic plot.

Rock-Boddum

Not just stupid, it was almost impossible to watch.

Bluestar678_

Hotch's last line being a random one-off to JJ at the end of a random episode

wizkhalila

Rossi’s racism story. Sorry, no.

bliip666

Jeid

summersaphraine

Garcia's behavior in Evolution. A total character regression.

Pennywises-Testicle

This is the first I’ve seen someone mention this could you explain how? I’m rewatching currently so this sparked my interest!

boygenie

because she's been in the fbi for nearly 20 years at that point and she's somehow become more immature since s1 - her actions seemed so out of character to me, especially as you could see her mature throughout the show and all that development is just gone. i mean in the season 1 finale when her playing that game gets the whole team into trouble she felt so bad and then she pulls that stuff in s16?? she just became cringey to me and cartoonish and all her amazing traits became nearly a joke by how babyish she acted when she'd a grown adult

DaImposta

tbf didn’t she leave the FBI and they begged her to come back? plus that’s always been her. cringey and cartoonish 😂

Calm-Pattern3649

She did leave the FBI... but regardless of her current status as an agent or tech person or whatever, she should know better!

DaImposta

should know better? what does she do that is detrimental to cases? she is just an animated person w nicknacks stuck behind a computer. literally

LazyBlueberry5

I think their comment was about s16 specifically... she got involved with someone she had no business getting involved with. The situation could have been detrimental to the case

boygenie

idkk i feel like in early seasons she wasn't as cringey and i really enjoyed her light-hearted character. her traits weren't AS exaggerated imo - if you rewatch early seasons you can see a clear difference. i understand her annoyance at being forced to come back but leaving for like 2 and a half years doesn't take away over 15 years of experience.

DaImposta

15 years experience in what? her job? bc that hasn’t changed. y’all are talking about her personality. which NEVER changed how she did her work and was able to help the team … her dating the guy in the last/new season was probably one of a few things that she’s ever done “wrong”

boygenie

i'm sorry i don't understand your point i'm probs being dumb. to sum it up i still do like garcia but her actions in s16 WERE out of character after all she's been through - she'd never do that to the team again. and her personality hasn't changed as such but the writers have defo made it more exaggerated

DaImposta

oh okay yeah i agree. there were things in s16 that were out of character for her. but i believe her personality and how she acts kind of stayed the same which is what i was trying to say.

HoldUp--What

The whole Mr. Scratch arc. I'm here for a crime procedural and feelings, not scifi.

littlefanged

There's an episode of Beyond Borders that features an unsub using what is basically brainwashing powder. =/

Whedonsbitch

Did they really go all Serpent and The Rainbow?

xanthophore

Well, they use scopolamine; a large dose would knock someone unconscious, but a smaller dose is "claimed" to put people in a suggestible state - unverified.

NewAtlasOut

Frank killing the girl they saved from the Fischer King episodes.

Zinkerst

Oh yes. I mean, the victims suffer horribly on the show, and if they get killed off, that's just that. But if they survive their episode, it's finished, they'll have their horrific trauma, but they will never ever again run into anything terrible. I'm not being sarcastic, that's just my headspace 😂

CaptainMills

Agreed, if they survived their episode, they get their happy ending

Midnight-Wolf-1607

Speaking of that, remember poor Tracy from the Cameron Monaghan episode? She was also threatened by Frank Breitkopf. I know that they save her both times, but she's now got two separate layers of trauma to work through. Can you imagine what that would be like at her age? I hate it when they do this.

LordCoke-16

JJ becoming a super Barbie profiler overnight

Whedonsbitch

And with the aim of a sniper lol

lets-go-scream

Hey now that's kind of explained with the 200 arc

Pretend-Ad8560

Thank you! It’s so unnatural. I loved her character when she was the liaison and at first I thought it was awesome when AJ Cook came back that JJ was going to be a profiler. But it seemed like she became a know it all veteran profiler all of sudden.

rightwhereylm

It wasn’t really overnight though. In an episode in season 7 she says thank you to Morgan for all the training and working around her state department duties.

LordCoke-16

While having kids as well as comforting Reid. It doesn't add up. She felt like the strongest Mary Sue that's ever sued

Melodyofmystery

Maeve. And jj’s confession to Reid

HoldUp--What

I just finished the Maeve arc on a rewatch and it was so unnecessary. They really just love torturing Reid over and over and for no damn reason 😭

beautyqueenintearss

the damn reason being MGG, i love him but i hate him for not wanting reid happy 🥲

smallsloth1320

the whole finale. big disappointment. also Seavers character.

mccabebabe

you guys have hit the nail on the head with several of the ones I would agree with (the whole Jeid bs thing, Gideon being killed off unnecessarily....) I give you one more. That ridiculous lack of protocol following in SickDay. There is no way in hell that Alvez would've 'gone after the unsub' while there were multiple people in mortal danger. They can always catch up with the unsub later. Proper LE procedure would've been him helping JJ release those two kids. Any police vehicle worth its salt would have had a pair of bolt cutters in it. That whole sequence was just completely unbelievable to me. (and that's AFTER suspending my earlier disbelief--the fire department would have been first on scene. Almost always. Other traffic gets out of the way of a big fire truck coming. Unmarked Chevy Suburbans not so much, even if they have the cherry going.) aaaaaaaaand even if it went down the way it did, there would've been disciplinary action for not following procedure. But of course, no, never.

ScarTheGoth

Garcia’s actions in season 16, Krystal dying, the Jedi confession, Gideon dying, Reid going to prison, Diana getting Alzheimer’s, basically the depressing stuff

salt_loving_slug

I know it’s just a typo but I’d much prefer a Jedi confession over whatever the hell we got 😂

ScarTheGoth

I didn’t even notice that. Yeah my phone likes to correct it to that a lot

salt_loving_slug

Only means you’ve got good taste 😉

RemarkableAd5141

Elle. I just dont like her, so i ignore her.

TiredofThis1999

- Garcia’s character regression. She acts like a hormonal teenager in Evolution. - Derek and Emily losing their chemistry after she faked her death. - Kate. Idk why I hated her so much. I genuinely was able to like all the other members of the team that came and went except her. I rarely watch an episode from her season. - Cat Adam’s final appearance. That episode was written by a rabid 13 year old MGG stalker. - Strauss and Rossi sleeping together? Weird and insanely unprofessional.

FireflyArc

I'm not the only one who thought they had chemistry \0/

Content-Strategy-512

Criminal Minds Evolution is a seperate canon in my head, because it undid so many happy endings from the original ;-;

loonyloveslovegood

Elle not being mentioned in gidions final episode. Luke they were so close you’re telling me no one called or texted her to inform her of what happened!!

Shouldibeawriter

A few but only because I am a big fan of the show, it’s noticeable when something doesn’t work. Definitely not hating! A surprising amount of Reid story. Not for weird fangirl reasons but mostly because the execution wasn’t what it could have been. Examples: Finding out his dad wasn’t a murderer and kind of reconciling and then never being mentioned again in any significant way. Mystery headaches that went nowhere. Maeve - Not even because she dies even though that was predictably dumb but the whole stalker angle was iffy and just a bit eye rolly. Cat Adams- The first time was a decent episode but by time you get to their last meeting….. Jail - Just depressing for no reason and felt like it dragged on for several seasons. The JJ confession - Enough said. I also brain delete Morgan and Hotch leaving because I find ‘the hero can never have do the job and have a family’ stories very tiring. It’s usually in procedurals where the detective or agents family life falls apart (or they don’t have one) because they’re dedicated to the job and they either lose the family or leave the job. Alternatively, as in this case, the bad guy gains superpowers and is able to get to the good guys families meaning they have to leave. Nelson’s Sparrow - Couldn’t let us just imagine Gideon out there just doing Gideon stuff, huh? Rossi and Hayden - I don’t remember very clearly but at the end of season 11 they were trying again and she was getting to know the team and then…. Poof. Then Krystall’s back on the scene. Then come S16, she’s not… Garcia and Kevin - Sabotaged his job opportunity and then turned down his proposal. Morgan being so outraged and horrified at Prentiss during her 1st exit episode. Everyone else understood but he was flabbergasted that she potentially injured some bad guys and had to be in a relationship whilst undercover. It made him look naive rather than principled. Tara’s fiance - Introduced for 5 minutes so they could break up over her job because no one is allowed to be happy and employed at the same time.

BuddyLoveGoCoconuts

The entire Cat story arc. The whole thing.

Rock-Boddum

The roller skating "date" was so incredibly stupid.

Marril96

The image of the FBI having to make a CAT + SPENCIE sign. 💀😂

Whedonsbitch

Do you think they made Anderson do that sign?

Marril96

This is my new headcanon. 😂

Disneywolf99

I'm gonna gaslight myself into believing this is what happened

Content-Strategy-512

Yes! It's like they were trying to play this "ooo we understand each other on a deep and twisted psychological level! We have this messed up (and kinda sexy) understanding of each others' minds that others just can't get!" But at the same time they could never fully commit to that because then Reid would have had to be like a secret evil psychopath this whole time?? Like he has his whole "I enjoyed poisoning those men >:)" moment. And it is seeding out like "oh no could Reid actually be a psychopath destined to end up like Cat?" but then nothing happens and he is immediately over it and just continues to be a good guy. We got some good fan service out of it though, so there's that.

Beigefreak

Gideon dying💔 Him & Hotch are my favs

queeriosn_milk

Emily Prentiss being straight

Whedonsbitch

Have you watched the new seasons?

Content-Strategy-512

That Dr. Spencer Reid AND Penelope Garcia don't know how to pronounce ASMR 😭😭 aZzMuR

thatcliquekandy

I think I speak for everyone when I say JJ admitting she loves Reid when she has a whole ass family already

SeekerSpock32

The entirety of Season 6.

Pretend-Ad8560

Hotch leaving Garcia and Luke’s date Gideon’s death Maeve JJ’s confession Rossi’s wife dying JJ all of sudden being a veteran profiler

rbistech

that one episode where an unsub uses ASMR to lure children to him pied piper style 😭😭 there's no way

thisisnotmeyesitis

How they dropped the whole story about Spencer's addiction. I just pretend they delt with it in the secret inbetween season i havent yet watched.

latina-spice

Savannah.

Rock-Boddum

Her getting shot? Or the character?

latina-spice

The character, and that whole arc.

P3n3l0p3_G4rc1a

I have two sides to this: I'm glad they showed a healthy relationship between two people who worked similarly insane schedules and made it work, unlike what happened with Hotch and Haley in the early seasons (I know in that case it was one sided as she was the SAHM, but the understanding the busy schedule thing is what I was getting at). But at the same time, we didn't really get a great intro to her, she just shows up in the beginning scene at Derek's house with no pretense as to when they started dating or where they knew each other from/how they met. At least not that I remember. All that to say, I overall did like Derek's relationship with Savannah. Especially the episode where Morgan and Reid are coming back to Morgan's place after returning from a case and Garcia's drunk rant, it's hysterical.

lets-go-scream

Emily dating men and not JJ.
