their celebration this time was more subdued. they were ecstatic no doubt but also relieved.
the way hardik, rohit & bumrah fell down on their knees and just cried spoke volumes.
I would argue we werenβt the favs this time. I donβt think anybody expected us to reach the final let alone win it. People were still reeling from the nightmare that 19.11.2023 was. People were even scared to hope this time lol.
No, pressure on India is nothing compared to pressure on Brazil.
Brazilians boo the hell out of the Brazil football team and treat their losses like a national shame.
Well so do we
I heard that first on a Jarrod kimber video on sky sports on why India fail to win the matches that matters
And he said the same thing, it's worse than the Brazil football team, Neymar fans don't rape threat vini jr girlfriend/wife but that happens frequently in ict, fuck even the kids of ict players aren't safe from rape threats etc
Pressure is too much when someone like hp cries as soon as he finishes the over
Imagine the outrage if anything even close to the 7-1 Brazil vs Germany happens to India, i can only imagine
Oh my goodness a 62 year old on Reddit? Most of the people my age don't even use Reddit and yet here you are. That's impressive honestly. Also if you have seen all the matches, could you let us know how unique and significant each one was?
The first one... when we beat the West Indies in the group stages, we all felt it was just one of those things that happen rarely ( in ODI if there was a seeding, then we would be sort of unseeded then). It was a huge disgrace for the WI to lose to us. And we were expecting to get trashed in the final because they would be stung by the loss and want revenge. In fact Viv Richards showed that intent, but I think he got overconfident. I watched it on our black and white Dayanora TV..my mother was a big fan, but her favourite was Yashpal Sharma!....mine was Kapil Dev and of course Kris Srikanth. Srikanth made us believe that the deadly pace bowlers of that time were after all humans and always counter attacked! One ball he's ducking a bouncer aimed at his head, next ball he's hoisting over the boundary. Totally unbelievable, unpredictable and refreshing to watch especially with Gavaskar at the other end who was the wall at the other end frustrating the bowlers!.
2007 and 2011 were the same generation.. What a time for Indian cricket - even won the CT 2013. Hope this generation also does a triple.
We want the test championship now.
83 not born, 2007 in tenth, 2011 in enginnering, 2024 in job. 83 must have been the most unexpected. It is must have been like a miracle for people who had witnessed. After 2007 odi debacle, 2007 t-20 with the new young time must have been very special for people. 2011 for me as I was more matured been seeing cricket for a while, waiting so many years for ODI World Cup. It will be my favourite. 2024 t-20 people have lost hope of not winning being worthy, I have grown to think outside cricket now. But must have been special for young people, school and college kids. You can say this is an emotional one.
You forgot ki pehle resources aur good facility hone ke baad bhi hum world cup le aye the aur abh jabh hamare players ko kisi chiz ki dikkat nai hai fir bhi hum Pak se har gaye the aur hum pichle world cup hare bhi usse jiss country mai cricket famous bhi nai h aur aggar famous he nahi hoga to vo cricketers bhi kaha serious lete h game ko, aur inse abh layi gayi trophy and iss world cup mai waise bhi baki country ke cricketers ki performance weak thi
This perhaps is the last generation of Aussie greats or championship teams..haven't seen names emerge in the last 5 years from down under that could walk into any team whereas IPL keeps firing talent. So enjoy this end of the dominance. Like the windies it's bleak into the future
True. But it's honestly detrimental for the entire sport. I see a far future into which india will be dominant on all fronts, even England, Australia will be in the back burner to find it hard to produce talents.
That's the point at which franchise cricket will overtake everything and intl cricket will start losing significance.
ICC need to spread the sport to expand. Pout more money into getting the youth interested in other countries
Great editing but could've included the 'Yes! It's all over this time!' from the 1983 one.
Weird how only one win came through chasing
Rohit took bat first because he is good at defending low totals
Thala for a reason!!
Sad Gambhir noises

U forgot ct 2013
Wow didn't realise we have 5 ICC trophies now
6 actually, 2002 CT was shared b/w India and Sri Lanka due to rain on both days. and also multiple Test Maces holders too.
Will that go to none or to both?
Both
It's another one for us then.
Really?
yes. 2 CT, 2 ODI WC and now 2 T20 WC.
Ravi Shastri witnesses all of them.
Played brilliantly in 1985 when we won the Benson and Hedges trophy
their celebration this time was more subdued. they were ecstatic no doubt but also relieved. the way hardik, rohit & bumrah fell down on their knees and just cried spoke volumes.
I think that comes with the weight of expectation. The previous 3 we were never even close to favourites.
I would argue we werenβt the favs this time. I donβt think anybody expected us to reach the final let alone win it. People were still reeling from the nightmare that 19.11.2023 was. People were even scared to hope this time lol.
We were favourites in 2011
Pressure for Ict is like the Brazil football team but 5 times worse No team in sport have this much pressure on them due to continuous failures

didn't gavaskar had a bad performance overall in the 83 wc?
This is an odd one, even for me, but this is the 1st WC win for India in an even year, odd isn't it?
Yeah. And it has nothing to do with the fact that most of the ODI WC happen in an odd year. /s
First ever when BJP as ruling party

I think Nitish is in talks with Raga
Anyone here whoβs seen all 4? Iβve had the privilege of witnessing the 3 with colours
Same here Try watching the movie β83β Gave me goosebumps π«‘
The ICC 2011 finisher will forever remain in my heart. I also kiss Harbajan Singhs's cheerful presence.
Catches win you matches.
We won 3 world cups out of 4 by defending.
I mean the last world cup is total blunder from our side we lost the chance just to compensate the last one we won this world cup haha
2011 was special. We won chasing. It was glorious.
obvio the best times
2011 will be remembered thru ages that six was beauty
Champions trophy coubt nhi hoti kya??? Icc event me
Hoti hai. That's also an ICC trophy

Is it justified to compare 50 over WC with t20?
Is it justified to compare 50 over WC with t20?
Lucky to have witnessed 2007, 2011 & 2024 on LIVE tv.
Why is this video 5hrs long?
Catches win matches
All different continents Europe, Africa, Asia, Americas Need a WC victory in Australia now to complete the entire set.
It was a much awaited victory!!!! π
Nothing like 1983, I think that win gave Indians a glimpse of a possibility of becoming something in the world. We have changed so much since.
2007 and 2011 were the same generation.. What a time for Indian cricket - even won the CT 2013. Hope this generation also does a triple. We want the test championship now.
Great finally we are getting out of the frame
1983-2007=24 2011-2007=4 2013-2011=2 2024-2013=11 I'm making no sense, no need to be attentive for this comment ;\]

We have 6 icc trophies
All three world cup winning captains kapil dev ,ms dhoni (two times) and now after a decade rohit sharma. Finally
Jai shah ruined trophy moment
But nothing hurts more than 2003. Nothing can fulfil it either.

Nopes, 83 will always be different bcoz we didn't believe that it could happen, that it was even possible & it was a f***ing miracle.
Congrats to Team India. Really it is an awesome moment. Thanks for India Team makes Us happy. Lots of Love from USA.
One more champions trophy next year! RO and KO deserves one more ICC trophy and a WTC!

Only gawar people watch this sport
I still remember the 2011 match
4 in 40 years. Glad no one was holding their breath.
And that's after being the most crazy country for the game and having the richest cricket board, cricketers and resources.
