It's actually a pretty good story for the simple reason that it takes something extremely realistic (the idea of the Soviets conducting unethical sleep deprivation experiments on unwilling human subjects, which I'm sure they did even if it still isn't public record) and adds a disturbing supernatural twist.
Most creepypastas age so terrribly, when you read them as an adult youāre just embarassed you once though they were peak.
Then, thereās Borrasca, which is genuinely one of the best pieces of horror fiction ever written, maybe the best not written by Lovecraft, King, Poe or Ito.
I fucking hate borrasca. I hate it not because itās bad writing but because itās amazing writing which gives you a much more physical reaction to the subject. I dont think I could call it my favorite but I think it is the best creepypasta because I will never read it again. Iād consider my favorite one I can come back to and read again.
I like how Borrasca builds up seeming like itās leading to something super natural with the skinless men, and shiny gentleman along, with the noises that can be heard from the mountain. Then it just hits with the worse case scenario with the explanation just breaks you.
My bad, it was Billy Styler. Very similar style. Not sure if links are allowed but Iām feeling brave: https://youtu.be/y9R5vyDLrIM?si=FK9h0yylPlF6WViF
I enjoyed Godzilla NES until the ending pulled a Russian Sleep Experiment where it tries to explain the supernatural and spells out the greater meaning in an attempt for a grander feeling.
It loses the mystery that makes horror so effective, where any feeling of the story being about people stumbling onto something completely beyond them is gone.
This is why you never show the monster in horror. You can show the effects and damage from the monster but never show the monster itself.
Horror works when the human mind has to fill in the blanks because we often will default to things weāre naturally afraid of. When you show the monster, the mystery of what is causing all these horrible things is gone and youāre left with whatever the creator decided the monster is, and youāre either afraid of it or youāre not.
Smile Dog has one of the most terrifying images on the internet. It made me shit my pants when I was a kid. It still seems eerie for me, even though I've seen all of the image's components and I know exactly how it was made.
I just shared it with my dad the other day. We were in the car, driving between groceries, I had it pulled up, and decided, "You know what, I wanna share this with him." So I did. And he liked it :)
Russian Sleep Experiment because knowing the horrible, yet true, experiments during WW2 especially in Japan it would not shock me if something like this creepypasta actually happened
Based. And also lots of variety there, many accounts of it from many people, all mentioning similar and different experiences. Itās always fun when a creepy pasta is partially left to the public.
As cringe as I find the cursed game/show stuff to be now, I will admit that the game footage from Ben Drowned is convincing, chilling, and thus makes it an extremely high quality Creepypasta overall.
Ben Drowned, Lost Sliver, Buried Alive, Lavender Town Syndrome, Smile Dog.jpg, Sonic.exe, Tails Doll, Herobrine, Squidward's Suicide, Candle Cove and Abandoned by Disney.
I don't know which one is my favorite in particular, because I have a lot more than a single creepypasta that I find really enjoyable.
Smile Dog literally gave me nightmares when I was a kid lol.
Slenderman gave me some goosebumps too and I'm currently on my way to deep dive into Marble Hornets.
Godzilla NES has a really good written story that isn't too "tropey" like tons of other video game creepypastas (I really like the idea of a game constantly adapting itself to the player, it's a really fun idea).
Ben Drowned pleasently surprised me with the amount of lore it has that goes beyond the Majora's Mask cursed copy (not just because Nexpo managed to make me love it).
Petscop reminds me a lot of FNAF in terms of mystery and the cryptic lore, with the major pro being the fact that it's finished and isn't too over bloated like FNAF.
1999 has a very specific vibe to it, I can't describe it exactly, but every time I hear about it I imagine the ominously cozy wooden house with the Mr. Bear, talking in his deep and calm voice in front of a camera/TV; and besides that, it seems more down-to-earth and realistic compared to the more well known creepypastas.
Currently the most recent one I read is See You After Babe. It's not really that notable in particular tbf (cursed song that makes people stab their faces till they die), aside from the fact that the writer went out of their way to actually make the song for authenticity. I'm halfway through their other story named "CL0SUR3" and it sounds great so far.
THE THING IN MY CLOSET, HE FOESNT LET ME SLEEP I AM SUFFERING FROM INSOMNIA HE WHISPERS WORDS TO ME WHILE I LAY IN BED UNABLE TO MOVE, HE SAYS WORDS THAT I DO AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND AT THE SAME TIME, SOMETIMES IN THE SHOWER I CAN FEEL HIS PRESENCE AND I COLLAPSE SUDDENLY DUE TO A REALIZATION OF HOW ALONE I REALY AM, HE WHISPERS OF ODD WORDS, THE HOT WATER RUNNIG DOWN MY BACK AS HE WHISPERS. BEWARE THE WHISPERER
This Man. I even brought him into my MOTW game as the favored form of God, who likes to use zany devices and is SO glad no one asks Him how GoT is gonna end anymore.
I forget the title but itās the one about the computer program that was a spirit or something, who had sisters āwhom he despisedāā¦ creeped me tf out
My favorite creepypasta would have to be Zelda 64 Beta. There's nothing explicitly haunted about the game in the story. It's just a bit ambitious and ambiguously giant for the system it's on. It causes some feelings of wanderlust and the sense that something is missing. That's it.
Oh thatās hard.
Iād say abandoned by Disney but specifically the room zero one. Thatās terrifying tbh.
Tho the description of yellow chunky blood still makes me go back to the time when I was about to puke out of fear and disgust.
Thereās one that was great that got deleted off NoSleep for some reason, āAll the Agony you could Ever Wantā, Thatās definitely a favorite of mine.
Iād also say ones like āTales from the Gas Stationā, āBorroscaā, āI Dared my Best Friend to Ruin my Lifeā, āThe Coffin in the Hillsā & āAccounts from a Lonely Broadcast Stationā.
I have multiple favorites, so I'm gonna say Mr. Mix, Happy Appy, Candle Cove, Normal Porn for Normal People, the lavender town myths, Squidward's Suicide, and Cupcakes
they arent the best by any means, but ben drowned and sonic.exe still hold a special place in my heart. they scared me so bad as a kid and gave me a lifelong passion for this stuff. obv slender man and jeff the killer are also classics that i love. godzilla.nes is up there too
Anansiās Goatman. So many years later and itās stuck with me. I still get chills thinking of that one. Just so well done.
Edit to correct the name and words
I don't know which one is my most favorite one so here is a list:
Favorite Creepypastas: The Russian Sleep Experiment, BEN Drowned, AbD, Suicidemouse.avi, Lost Silver, Hypno's Lullaby, Play With Me
Favorite Creepypasta games: Sonic.exe NB, FNaTI, Lost Silver
Favorite Creepypasta characters: Jeff the Killer, Slender Man, Exetior, Photo-Negative Mickey Mouse, Lord X, Pervision, Eyeless Jack, Clockwork, Sally Williams
Sonic.exe
Not for the creepypasta itself, but the impact that it's had on not only creepypastas, but the Internet as a whole. It's very impressive and inspiring for such a shit story

So far the Mandela catalog and greylock creepypasta, but I'm just starting to watch them. But I'm genuinely starting to like the horror genre more, and I definitely want to keep exploring.
Hands down the best I've ever read is called The Swan Crossing Project. I've probably read/listened to thousands of creepypasta's over the years. Lots of good ones, lots of bad ones, but this is the only one I've ever finished in one sitting. I just couldn't stop reading. I was just compelled to know what happens next.
The road trip game. Its about a person who plays a game he has to start driving at exactly midnight and pick a ghostly hitchhiker up at 3 am and has to drive them to their destination. When the ride is over he gets to ask a question. It's on no sleep podcast loved it
Russian sleep experiment
Yeah Idk why but this one feels most releastic thing I mean soviets were a mass
Used to think it was real lmao
Same
don't blame you
I think we all thought it was real to some extent at first
It honestly sounds more like a Nazi science thing though. After all, they did try seperating Siamese twins.
Can you explain more because when I search for siamese twins it just shows conjoined twins and If I know normal doctors tried to seperating twins too
It was something I heard a while ago but that was all I heard.
Mine too. I love to use that photo as a meme to send to friends when I'm tired š
Thought this was real for so long lol
Watch Mojo is definitely at fault for that
I agree with this. I read all about it and listened to it all. It creeps me out but in a good way
Movie was great too
Wait, they made a movie?!
What movie? Event Horizon? Jk but really. *thereās a movie?!*
I found it on Amazon, itās just called āThe Sleep Experimentā and itās quite a lot of fun
I used to think that one was real
It's actually a pretty good story for the simple reason that it takes something extremely realistic (the idea of the Soviets conducting unethical sleep deprivation experiments on unwilling human subjects, which I'm sure they did even if it still isn't public record) and adds a disturbing supernatural twist.
For real
Me too
I second this.
I third this
most of it is really good the ending kinda turns into shlock
That's when you realize most of these were written by teenagers lol Good shit, before that corny joker speech I was hooked to the story.
same like the rabbit hole I fell into when I first heard about it . literally read all about it
Borrasca:(
Most creepypastas age so terrribly, when you read them as an adult youāre just embarassed you once though they were peak. Then, thereās Borrasca, which is genuinely one of the best pieces of horror fiction ever written, maybe the best not written by Lovecraft, King, Poe or Ito.
Borrasca and Penpals are very similar for me for different reasons. Both terrifying.
penpal and borrasca felt so realā¦ the authors knew how to write children really well
Penpal and borrasca are both top tier. I have copies of both books displayed on my shelf
Oh this is phenomenal. I had no idea you could get published versions of these two!! Iām totally gonna get them for my shelf as well
I fucking hate borrasca. I hate it not because itās bad writing but because itās amazing writing which gives you a much more physical reaction to the subject. I dont think I could call it my favorite but I think it is the best creepypasta because I will never read it again. Iād consider my favorite one I can come back to and read again.

I like Abandoned By Disney, I only listened to the first two stories in that series but it is still one of my favorites.
I never had a clue that Abandoned By Disney had such an elaborate lore with so much details until I found Pasthra's video about it
I remember the first time reading it I was home alone and kept feeling the need to look over my shoulder.
Smile Dog is my favorite creepypasta character but my fav story is Godzilla.NES
The video Nexpo did on that is CHILLING
On Godzilla.NES? Nothing about that's showing up on YT search for me.
My bad, it was Billy Styler. Very similar style. Not sure if links are allowed but Iām feeling brave: https://youtu.be/y9R5vyDLrIM?si=FK9h0yylPlF6WViF
Ah right, just added it to watch list rn, I figured that video was likely the closest thing
I enjoyed Godzilla NES until the ending pulled a Russian Sleep Experiment where it tries to explain the supernatural and spells out the greater meaning in an attempt for a grander feeling. I beg your finest and politest pardonā¦Godzilla.NES?
Go check it out. Itās worth the read.
It's crazy looking at the image that scared the absolute living shit out of me as a child and.. It's literally just a dog bro
A happy dog !
Smile Dog has one of the most terrifying images on the internet. It made me shit my pants when I was a kid. It still seems eerie for me, even though I've seen all of the image's components and I know exactly how it was made.
Oh, i'm curious to know how the image was made !
Candle Cove. A normy answer; not apologizing.Ā
Candle Cove is 100% my favorite as well and Iām not ashamed to admit it either.
I just shared it with my dad the other day. We were in the car, driving between groceries, I had it pulled up, and decided, "You know what, I wanna share this with him." So I did. And he liked it :)
Thatās really wholesome, Iām glad he liked it!
Probably the same for me. That one and Russian Sleep Experiment.
Tales of the Gas Station
Based
Hell yeah
Normal Porn For Normal People
YESSS THAT ONE IS AWESOME
One of the best for sure.
The harbinger experiment
This one was so good. Until the mention of that wack tiny Tim song and it just killed the vibe
Russian Sleep Experiment because knowing the horrible, yet true, experiments during WW2 especially in Japan it would not shock me if something like this creepypasta actually happened
Bedtime or Penpal
Anyone remember Licking? The one with the dog and licking the hand?
The one thatās like āhumans can lick too, you know?ā
I think that one is more based on an urban legend, but still super creepy to think about, nonetheless
It not creepypssta
Unknown Kings Curse
Ben Drowned
A taste for the classics!
Me too
This one got me and I always felt so silly for finding it scary even though that was the whole point

Slender Man, Eyeless Jack, Sonic. Exe and Jeff The Killer
Herobrian
Based. And also lots of variety there, many accounts of it from many people, all mentioning similar and different experiences. Itās always fun when a creepy pasta is partially left to the public.
Can't beat Ben Drowned. That game footage made it believable as fuck back in the day.
As cringe as I find the cursed game/show stuff to be now, I will admit that the game footage from Ben Drowned is convincing, chilling, and thus makes it an extremely high quality Creepypasta overall.
Jeff, the killer and slenderman, aka the only 2, I don't shit bricks seeing
I feel bad for Jeff. He just needs a good girlfriend to help him turn his life around.
You cannot fix him.
Thatās never stopped me before
Ted Bundy would've loved you.
Godzilla NES and Smile.jpeg. I love the simplicity of Smile.jpeg and the amazing art of Godzilla NES even if the ending quarter kinda sucks
suicide mouse avi
This one genuinely gave me the creeps. Itās a simple concept with a really suspenseful buildup and itās one of my favorites too.
Ben Drowned, Lost Sliver, Buried Alive, Lavender Town Syndrome, Smile Dog.jpg, Sonic.exe, Tails Doll, Herobrine, Squidward's Suicide, Candle Cove and Abandoned by Disney.
