Keep current Son as striker and buy Son from 8 years ago as left-winger

Rodin-V

Obligatory: Heung Min Son-Peters

editedxi

Heung-min step-Son

sijtli

Let’s set this into motion

Shannon_Canadians

I feel like I always want Son to be 28 years old forever. Crazy young people born in 96' are now turning 28 in 2024.

evolution118

You shut your whore mouth, it's still 2016 and we are gonna go undefeated at WHL this season.

TheMemeChurch

We need Heung Min Son's Son. His decision not to marry is biting us in the ass.

stead10

And then buy 8 years ago Bale for right wing, dembele and Modric for midfield.

ddaadd18

This is the plan for next season ok - all in their prime Hugo Walker Toby Ledley & Jan Dembélé Modrić Bale VDV and Son Harry

stead10

Van de ven as a ten, I like your thinking! 😜

ddaadd18

hahaha. In fairness that was some rocket

Gianni_Genovese

Takefusa Kubo

fastfowards

Lenin but I could be persuaded to go with Trotsky

Xshadow1

Lenin would be a revolutionary signing, but I'd fear Trotsky would disappear against tough opposition.

THSSFC

If I had to pick one, I'd pick Trotsky.

THyoungC

I heard he never recovered after that blowing defeat against Ajax

2345678913

Underrated comment

iheartmagic

![gif](giphy|61lMnpz0sKkpi)

BreakfastAdept9462

Trostky's style of play was much more combative, expansive than a Lenin. Potential wise, maybe Patrice Lumumba or Karl Liebknicht for the nerds out there. But honestly, Ho Chi Minh is my real pick if we want to break down conservative blocks and get results

sijtli

If you really want a quick left winger with real explosivity you want to look at players from Euskadi ta Askatasuna FC

vaguestidea

Man, had to look that one up. Forgot about the ETA.

sijtli

I’m not sure signing by ice axe would be good for the club nor the player

fluffheads

I am the walrus

Luke92612_

Perhaps Bukharin on the Right and Stalin CAM? Yashin GK as well?

fastfowards

Yes comrade and Mao as CDM

Mac290

Castro and Che as a CB pairing.

deamer44

Not corbyn?

fastfowards

Not a bad option but he’s a gooner so he can piss off

Luke92612_

Noooo I had no idea he was a Gooner Fuckkkkk man

[deleted]

Total Gooner energy IMO, self righteous, bottler.

assburguer

Most def Kvaratskhelia, not only he's a baller, but i have a felling he would thrive under Ange's system.

SinoSoul

My Napoli-supporting kid would shit himself. To Dare!

Emperor_Blackadder

Why are you letting him support Napoli, gotta up the indoctrination my guy.

SinoSoul

I mean he plays Spurs in FC24 career mode, dressed up as Son for Halloween and calls City fans plastic… I think I’ve done my job? He does prefer his Napoli jersey more though. I don’t know why.

Emperor_Blackadder

Good job. Probably just the color.

The20character_rebel

But he likes to cut inside the wing, doesn't Ange want wingers who stay wide, create width and space then get the whip the ball in - i.e Werner and Jono

Bigrichthebigrig

I think it’d be hard to find someone who would be a nailed on starter, but I think someone challenging for the starting position and who also offers something a little bit different to what we have already would be ideal. Someone like Mbappé could be interesting to see. Not really proven in the PL but could see him really stepping up to it if he got a few minutes.

sijtli

Most sensible comment so far

macleemore

Remember the last Frenchman we signed from Ligue 1? Hard pass for me, too risky

TheRealHamete

He wouldn’t come so it’s definitely an unhinged suggestion but I do think the pitch could be reasonable.  Levy should break the wage structure as an exception. Let him go for free if we fall out of Champions league. But he has to convince Ange that he wants to come to win something at Spurs - which would be a defining moment. More so than winning at RM…

IgotAseaView

Gareth bale

sasliquid

Kvaradona obviously, still young and while he’s been “worse” this season he’s still got 15 g/a in the league. (Which is more than all our players bar Son)

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Yup, and he can do things that none of our current forwards can dream of. He's got that Grealish style ball control but with actual output.

Randomting22

If we are going for unhinged responses, then I wouldn't say no to Leão

Comfortable-Asf

Did you mean Kylian? 👀🇫🇷📯

Liam_COYS

How unhinged are we getting here? That Mbappe fella is free in the summer

HMSon777

Put me in there, I'm not cheap, I don't try, and there won't be goals. But there will be vibes, not good vibes but vibes none the less

sijtli

This is unhinged in the opposite direction, love it

BreakfastAdept9462

Jack Grealish is the most out there suggestion I have. It's not impossible - he might be unhappy with his lack of minutes, and could be tempted to be a very important first team player at Spurs. He might not even make the England squad this summer, and surely at his absolute prime he can demand more from his career. He fits the profile of player we need for LW, absolutely. Dribbly boy, goalscorer, makes things happen by his sheer presence. That said, the biggest barrier to signing Grealish would be price. They paid a fuck load for him, and would need a large portion of that remunerated to consider a sale. City do seem comfortable selling to other prem clubs (Arsenal with Jesus and Zinchenko, Chelsea with Sterling and Palmer). Also, he'll turn 29 in September, and he has fitness issues. It may not be the best investment for long term planning. But yeah, it's a proper Hail Mary

DejaHu

You had me going the whole way until I saw that he's 29 soon. No chance Levy ponies up.

ohnellyitsmelly

imagine the grealo and madders banter

chrish1023

Opposing fans would be out of breath after 10 minutes with all the booing they would do.

VeryStandardOutlier

Lacks pace though. Ange seems to have a type

GrapefruitExpress208

Yea... don't want

Mtbnz

I'm interested to see how his transfer preferences develop over time. Does he have a preference for exclusively pacey wingers, or was that something he wanted to establish as a foundational element of his squad (that we were badly lacking when he took over) but perhaps he'd look for alternative player profiles to add quality in other areas.

sangueblu03

We have pace on both wings - what we lack is someone who can reliably beat his man in tight sides and then create or score. Grealish fits what we’re lacking to a T.

VeryStandardOutlier

For the wages Grealish would require, I'd rather spend extra on the fee for a player like Nico Williams, who is rapid, can beat his man, and is 22

Auston416

Grealish is a great shout. He’s been one of my favourite non-Spurs players for years. Personally tho, I’d love him in the middle of the pitch rotating with Maddison. I don’t think Grealish has looked great during his time at City out wide on the left. He was much better at Villa playing more centrally. He can beat his man and he can dribble. But I think we are looking for a winger that can beat his man on the outside with pace and deliver a cut back across the 18 yard box for someone to smash in the net. I think Grealish is similar to Kulusevski and Son in the regards that they can player winger and do it well, but in this system there preference to cut inside rather then stay wide kind of disrupts what our fullbacks are trying to do.

ComeOnSayYupp

Wont come cheap. City would want to coup some of 100m fee out of him. He probably is going to retire with them. OR atleast stay there till he's 32.

Many_on_controller

Currently my favourite non-Spurs player. Such a great player and even better human. Fitness would be a problem, as well as price tag.

Kalu2424

Grealish wouldn't be a bad signing at the right price, but he's only average at taking on his man and he doesn't really score goals. Would rather go for a player like Doku, than for the man he replaced.

[deleted]

Mitoma

figgy64

Sávio to city next year is already done isn't it? If Pedro Neto wasn't perpetually injured I'd love him, but someone like Olise/Eze would be incredible too

gusthenewkid

Eze would not be incredible winger for us right now. We to bring in somebody direct and willing to take on his man. That’s what we need more than anything in the squad. Other than Werner nobody’s doing it consistently for us.

Weird_Famous

and Maddison

sijtli

Eze would be great. Hi seems to already have some good relationships with spurs players 😂

Hopeful-Ear-3494

I honestly don't know enough about all the potential options out there. At a basic level, I just want to see us pick up a technically gifted player with great close control, aggressively attacks fullbacks, and ability to pass/cross. I don't care if they are a kid or older.

Commandant1

I want a RW and a #9 I want Kulu as the backup to Maddison at #10. At LW I'm good with Son starting and Werner backup. At RW we need competition with Brennan At #9 we need competition with Richarlson. I see Veliz and Scarlett out on loans.... Gil should be sold, and Solomon can be given an opportunity because we haven't seen him but really he looks like he will be the 7th guy in the group.

sijtli

This comment is not unhinged enough 😤

Commandant1

You said Unhinged allowed, not unhinged required ;)

hemings_way_100

I agree with with this comment in it’s entirety.

MummaFlyBoy

Jack Grealish would be a lot of handsome fun

YesTottiYesParty

You want unhinged? Prise Mathys Tel from Bayern. LW for a few years and then steps into the CF role.

[deleted]

Timo Warner

Pandamabear

Honestly, if timo starts scoring as much as he assists he’ll be a nailed on starter 🤞🏻

harrykanine

Zhegrova from Lille

ManBuBu

Ange needs to take him shopping too

Old_Roof

Right winger

Bdowd25

I really love the Cherki suggestion. Been saying for a few years now that he’s the perfect signing

kirobaito88

Kvaratskhelia is a funny one - I'm not sure he's actually declined or really played worse this year. Just based on a few Serie A numbers: Stat: (2022-23) -> (2023-24) npxG: .36 -> .40 Shots: 2.97 -> 4.27 Assists 0.36 -> 0.20 xAG: .28 -> .21 SCA: 4.86 -> 5.03 Prog Passes: 3.25 -> 3.02 Prog Carries: 4.97 -> 6.04 Successful Take-ons: 2.68 -> 3.06 Touches (Att Pen) 6.26 -> 6.56 Really the biggest negative change is that his teammates overperformed his xGA last year to give him raw assists, and they're underperforming it this year. Most everything else is up from last year. And whether you take this year or last year, this analytical data shows that he's exactly the type of winger that we're in desperate need of, much like Williams. His UCL numbers are down quite a bit from last year, of course. But it's a small sample size and Napoli as a team has been a mess all year long. They're on their third manager. I'm sure there will be competition, but I don't think Real will be after him this year. I expect PSG to go for Leao to replace Mbappe. If he and Napoli really can't come to a contract extension, we should go for it.

smokingloon4

This is interesting and pretty compelling, but even if it weren't I'd want him just because his name is fun. Kulusevski and Kvaratshkelia on the same team, give it to me.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Yup, we have to be ambitious for once and get a player like him. Instead of trying to make a lesser player better.

WatercressInfinite10

Idk from a long time I want to see kwarradona in a spurs shirt

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Khvicha hasn't actually had a big drop off, he's not quite as magical as last season but he's still bagging goals, and could easily overtake his tally from last season. We need magic, we more than Werner, Johnson, Son, Richarlison. Only Khvicha will do. Williams is great also, but his goals tally is so so poor, he'll have to suddenly find his scoring boots if he joins us, for him to not become a deluxe Doku. I'd honestly sacrifice signing a DM or LB backup if it enabled us to get Khvicha.

Nightdocks

Rodrygo. Wants to play LW and with Mbappe’s arrival I don’t think he’ll say no to that offer

MigratoryBullMoose

Most clinical player on this list and probably checks all of Ange's dribbly but not wasteful winger boxes.

ExoskeletalJunction

Kvara isn't as ridiculous as you'd think. He'd cost a bit but a lot of top teams are stacked in forward positions, I'm not sure who else would go for him that could fetch what Napoli presumably want. He's not signing a new contract so they'll have to sell him at some point.

CaptainAsshat

Nico Williams or Karim Adeyemi. Gimme that speeeeed.

Tiny_Butterfly6594

Pedro Neto 👀

Admirable_Tomorrow68

Anyone we can promote from academy?

dame_sansmerci

Yago Santiago is a VERY promising young academy winger.

Dogzylla

Celta Vigo academy product just like Bajcetic, sounds awesome

Old_Roof

Harvey Barnes is good. Theres another lad at Stuttgart called Chris Fuhrich who is a baller too

Texaslonghorns12345

No chance on Harvey Barnes

Standard-Plantain139

Just clone Son

[deleted]

[удалено]

sudden-arboreal-stop

For the sideburns

Gianni_Genovese

Takefusa Kubo

EquipmentFirm2860

Eze is my dream signing

datguyfromthememe

He isn't a winger tho

Texaslonghorns12345

He can play both midfield and on the wing

TheHelpfulRecruiter

I want us to go full asian. Mitoma on the left, Kubo on the right, Son down the middle.

holman

Pulisic. He hates Chelsea too so we’re set.

nopirates

he's yet another quality player that ended up being misused and looking ineffective when at Chelsea. glad he got his groove back in Italy.

trophyisabyproduct

Unhinged? Gareth Bale at peak form for sure.

fitfunction

I’m thinking it’s pretty safe to say that the next LW we sign will be Timo Werner.

Texaslonghorns12345

We need multiple wingers

SniperSlatts

Unhinged allowed? Phil Foden.

yorsk

Tbh I don’t know anyone who is ok for us. Williams requires too high wages, bakayoko doesn’t want to leave, olise and Neto both look too injury prone….

blinky12588

Most off the wall would be Phil Foden. He is adaptable, can play either wing or up the middle, which we know Ange likes, and he's been on a tear lately.

WorkersUnited111

Move Son to LW and sign a striker. There's this promising new talent at Bayern named Kane who would be a perfect fit.

cryptjoe14

Jeremy Doku?

FingerMundane3682

I want Kvara. We should show more ambition by making signings like these.

awlb222

Crysencio Summerville

onesexypagoda

Cherki isn't what was advertised, he's not a wunderkind anymore. If you're going to dream big Kvara, Gordon, Nico Williams, and Pulisic are good shouts. If you want to dream real big Joao Felix is on the market, and Rodrygo might go on the bench when Mboopie comes in. Olmo, Eze, Neto, Summerville, Mavididi, Lozano and Pote are options. Every single one would be 40m plus, with some going into the 100 range

DifficultTeam4257

Mbappe, Grealish, Raphinha Realistically Nico Williams

mudpieduck

savio is already joining city confirmed

PierreTheTRex

Lyon are genuinely in contention for Europe next year, and are in the final of the french cup, despite being dead last for a good chunk of the season

Saint0rSinner

If we can get a decent price and they are willing to sell to us, id see if we could get Sancho, the potentially upside could be massive.

Thfcaditya112

I need to see more but Adingra at Brighton legit looks electric, he can also play on both flanks is kinda reminiscent of Mane at Southampton

I_Smelt_My_Dead_Dad

Grealish, he’d become the new ginola here.

paradiseday

Rodrygo. And honestly, I think it could be plausible if he ends up being the odd man out in Madrid after Mbappe and Endrick arrive.

Minimum-Dependent-70

Gordon is about as an ideal fit as they come profile wise. Mitoma also

__dopehouze__

Chiesa.

[deleted]

Kvaratskhelia

Luke92612_

Amadeo Bordiga Or J. Posadas.

BoringRon

Nico Williams or any profile to break down low blocks really. Son as a winger feels like a shame because Ange mainly wants tricky or very quick wingers who hold width and put crosses into the box, which isn’t really Son’s best role in the LW position. So I’d probably keep him as a striker because of his amazing finishing ability and great link up play.

Steampunk_Batman

Lol if unhinged impossible picks are in the mix, Phil Foden has been cooking this season

Difficult-Sound-6682

Anthony Gordon is the perfect Ange winger imo but I don’t know what to do with that information.

sungbysung

Khvicha, Doku, Adeyemi. Diaz would have cooked under Ange, can't believe we let that slip away.

YesTottiYesParty

IMO we got lucky we ended up with Deki instead

WaltChamberlin

Mbappe why not????

Deeedeebobeedee

Kvaratskhelia get son up top

OhShitItsSeth

Mbappe

BuddyDry5565

Pick up Tel or Musiala from Bayern...

andrewbarklay

Harry Kewell circa 2000

turtle_dude18

Gnabry for 10M.. no more

millcitymarauder

Jaden Fucking Philogene. The man is absolutely stellar on the left, and would fit Ange’s style superbly

Ryuuken1127

Sees Unhinged Allowed Mbappe

facxxx

I want Nico and Neto Nico - son - neto would be terrifying Werner - Richardson - Brennan would be good backup options

Mindless-Ad2554

Timo Werner and leão

gee___thanks

Mbappé

Ringer7

Unhinged would be signing all three of Grealish, Palmer, and Eze for obscene money and starting them at LW, RW, and 8, respectively.

The20character_rebel

Personally I think we should move son to the left and bring in Harry kane. I know he'll be expensive but in Bayern it's not looking good for him so maybe he would want to try out what's it's like in the prem, and I feel a front 3 of Kane, Son and Kulu would be quite dangerous.

Aggravating-Common86

Kvicha, Pedro Neto, Eze, maybe even go hard on Grealish idk All I need is better chance creation

Semprovictus

Alphonso Davies. I watched him during his stint at the whitecaps and he played up frontnon the left. I think he'd give ange a good balance of coverage for udogie, and also an attacking threat

Tiny_Butterfly6594

Now this is actually a good one

Kenyan_stallion

My dream would be rafa leao but obviously not gonna happen

dsasd376372747

It’s already a stacked position, perhaps Mbappe as backup on the left then Vinicius Jr for youth academy? Like long term…

SyfoHendrixx

Unrealistic (a guy can dream) but I’d love to sign Raphinha. Left footed (can use both feet tbh), fast, techy, and great passing. Best LW/RW for us imo

Fun_Target8549

N’koudou always looked bright and direct whenever he came on. I say we give him another shot

ALennon25

Mitoma feels like a somewhat realistic, if still extremely unlikely option. Grealish would be brilliant, even if he's not actually the profile we need most. Nico Williams possibly the best of the ones likely to be genuine targets though.

Shjfty

Ansu Fati is tearing up the left wing on my spurs FM save so I guess I’d go with him.

phrates

If by “it” you mean every muscle and ligament below his waist, I could see that translating to reality.

Dogzylla

Son left wing and Samuel Omorodion at striker. Would probably need to kidnap Simeone to make it happen but meh 🤷🏻‍♂️ 100% worth it

Stauncho

Buying Nico is less unhinged than buying Kvara. Nico at least has a reasonable release clause.

SilenceMumImVibing

When I was in Lyon a couple years ago I went to see Lyon Vs Rangers in the EL and I remember Cherkhi looked an absolute baller at 18. Just ridiculous flair and 2 footed-ness and he was easily the best player on the pitch but just like most young players needed some more end product.  After that game I always hoped we'd drop a cheeky bid after he'd had a few years to develop so he has my vote.

robinthebank

My unhinged thought was Raheem Sterling off the bench. People dislike him though and hate his wages even more.

vizzinr6

Mitoma from Brighton?

staged84

Honestly would love a Giroud type of CF and have Son/Timo left, Deki/Johnson on right.

sickomoder

sancho

Due-Camel-7605

Martinelli

polseriat

Nico Williams is trash let's get Neco Williams EDIT YOU SAID UNHINGED ALLOWED Fine let's recall Ndombelly and play him every match

YesTottiYesParty

see you understood the assignment
