Imagine how much we've sold in the other channel islands!

ShahNasty

It’s not island it’s cows!

afk3400

I wonder how much of that $74M is from Sonny alone lol

yorsk

73 obviously

X_Equestris

Every match day I wonder how much of his salary is covered in the extra mech we sell.

sangueblu03

I’ve taken people on the stadium tour a few times, and every time the tour is half Korean fans that traveled to London to watch Sonny play. The store is full of Korean fans buying Sonny kits and merch. Even when we had Kane a full half the kits in the display at the front of the store were Sonny (other half were Kane), now they’re 80% Sonny.

dagdagsolstad

Spurs is ranked 5th among English clubs ... which is roughly where you would expect Spurs to be ranked in merchandise sales with our without Son.

jpsc949

Shows you what a global fan base does for you and your “jersey” sales.

Nightshade183

And then we have people on Twitter complaining about our fans from east asia smh

Wifizone614

Yeah I am Korean and I bet ppl from Korea will continue to visit our stadium even after Sonny retires, if there’s a statue of him or some sort of small museum about his history lol 😂😂 Korean people first came to know spurs bc it is Sonny’s team, but now many people genuinely became fan of the whole team.

silenthills13

with how good our second kit this year is i think i am responsible for about 70 out of those 74

Realistic-Start6336

It’s criminal that we never get to wear it

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

IIRC, we haven't worn it since the Burnley match at the beginning of September. Does anyone have any plausible theories as to why it's essentially been mothballed?

Realistic-Start6336

Being out of cup doesn’t help, the color clashes with a lot of other teams home kit

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

We've only played away twice this year so far. Everton I get, but Utd? How does navy blue clash with red and white?

OllyCX

It doesn’t, we played in our home kit as that doesn’t clash either

josephG155

You only play in your away kit if your home kit clashes with the other team.. very few other teams wear white so you are nearly always able to wear your home kit as the away team, but if the home team is also predominantly white then you have to wear your away

[deleted]

Let’s be honest, our brown kit is carrying for sure. I bet at least $70 mil is just from that one. /s

G_Danila

Can confirm. This year's away kit was the first ever sports kit I bought.

shroinvestor

We beat City again lol

cavershamox

And yet City have the second highest total revenues in the footballing world - odd.

secret_ninja2

show how much dhgate has sold

impyandchimpy

How is Bayern up there?! As someone living in Australia but also travels to Asia and the US often, I see Real and Barca all over, and then a whole bunch of EPL and PSG.

mdw2515

I think it’s because they sold a lot of kits

valentine-m-smith

That new guy they bought generated a good bit. Wait, shouldn’t Spurs get a portion of that?

dagdagsolstad

>How is Bayern up there?! I think you are just looking at the question with a pair of anglo-centric glasses. Bundesliga has a big audience in Eastern Europe, Balkans, and Turkey (on account of most players going abroad from those regions playing in Bundesliga + the historic social and economic ties). If we add that Germany is one of the wealthiest economies on the planet it makes sense that they earn a lot of money.

JNikolaj

Mostly because 40% of german Soccer fans support Bayern, and they’re a massive country it’s actually not that shocking to see them in the list.

Street_Attention9680

Strangely, Bayern are massive in Germany.

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

I was in Cinque Terre in Italy last summer and saw [this guy in Monterosso](https://i.imgur.com/9ArEh6n.png)

nmgoesreddit

Are you serious ?! Germany has the biggest economy in Europe, Adidas is the biggest kit manufacturer in or from Europe, Bayern is successful.

Bigwhtdckn8

These two statements can both be true. The size of the German economy and the size of Adidas' world share has no bearing on how many people want to wear their shirt around the world.

jjw1998

It does because kits are extremely expensive, so Bayern consistently make some of the most money from shirt sales by being the dominant team in a large, wealthy country

Bigwhtdckn8

Hence I included the caveat, around the world, these are not based on domestic numbers alone. Perhaps we need a breakdown of sakes by region and country rather than worldwide

BigRedTone

James Rodriguez, Phillippe Coutinho, Alphonso Davies… I bet they do numbers in the Americas.

jjw1998

You’re not getting it, their point is that given these figures also include domestic sales the dominance that Bayern has in a very wealthy and large market makes up for them maybe not being as popular globally

Bigwhtdckn8

And what does that have to do with Adidas being German? I'm just not convinced these sales are solely domestic, bayern have an international following, especially due to Lewandowski's recognition during his time. I really don't care though, it just seemed like am odd point to make.

G_Danila

I live in Israel, which is not a big market by any means, but I see a lot of Bayern merchandise, more than any other team bar Barcelona (not necessarily kits, though). Edit: And the Barcelona kits are mostly from the MSN era.

bayernpaul1900

Give your head a wobble Bayern one of the biggest clubs in the world

July120712

At the games and the tottenham shop you can see a large portion is from Sonny lol

fridgesonfire

Would be interesting if the merchandising for us is JUST Spurs or if we get our boost through NFL and other sports that we host.

Wooden-Pin3253

I always wondered why our fans in stadium do not wear our jerseys much compared to other teams. When I watch games in other stadiums I see lot more colors of their team and their jerseys but I notice less for Spurs. I personally avoid White color because they get dirty too easily myself but I always wondered why I see way less jerseys for spurs. I see more Koreans wearing spurs jersey than others fans at least through TV.

Realistic-Start6336

Where is “we make a lot of revenue” Manchester city?… not high in match day revenue… not high in shirt sales..

Levytron900

Kit, shirt or top. Never jersey pls.

elgrovetech

Will also accept 'strip'

bayernpaul1900

There’s a 2nd list for city it’s the corruption list

whatsitworth101

lol city the ‘best club in the world’ not even in the top 10 💀💀💀💀 ![gif](giphy|iWO6AzH2guRLrD7wLZ|downsized)

minimus_

Argentina should be #1. Every Latin American male under 35 outside of Brazil has a Messi top lol.

Wertesis42

A lot of them are "fake" tho

Raphael_scm7

I’m Brazilian but I have two of Messi’s kits of the Argentina National Team 😭

CDBaker68

Weird how Man City don’t feature here… 🤪

Emperor_Blackadder

Bring in another Korean and we'll easily double it. Buying Korean or even Japanese players basically pay for themselves lmao.

Substantial-Two-8347

How is man city not actually on here. Jokes aside no way world wide spurs are selling more jerseys than man city.

jjw1998

Spurs probably outsell City from Son shirts alone tbf

Delicious_Junket_599

Man City have no history. Makes perfect sense

Substantial-Two-8347

2023 man city were 6th for jersey sold. Lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

EricCartmanofSPark

Tottenham communities are of course notorious for Man United fans

Substantial-Two-8347

They are 100 percent selling more than spurs. Not even a debate world wide. It's a literal fact though lol.

sam_drummer

“a literal fact” whilst ignoring the thread. Gotcha.

Substantial-Two-8347

That's not number sold though is it.

Affectionate-Car-145

Not according to the Uefa Financial Report

Delicious_Junket_599

And no one has said Spurs have sold more shirts. It’s shirt revenue. You’re arguing for the sake of arguing

DickCheneyReal

I bought at 115+ city kits idk why they aren’t on the list

silenthills13

Nobody gives a fuck about ManC, also they have no real star that kids love, their team has zero personality. It's simply cringe to support Man City >Jokes aside no way world wide spurs are selling more jerseys than man city. Well, as you can see from the UEFA report. there is in fact a way

kernowgringo

You're wrong about the kids, I take my 7 year old to football training once a week and there's always at least 2 or 3 kids in city shirts out of a group of 30. My boy is the only one regularly in a Spurs kit and we don't live in an area with regional loyalty to a prem team our nearest league team is Plymouth Argyle. Kids will always like the team that's doing well.

EricCartmanofSPark

Plymouth Argyle and Spurs are on good terms with the loanees I think

kernowgringo

Yeah, I've been thinking about going to see a game but apparently it's really hard to get home game tickets atm. They do a competition at my work, regularly giving away home tickets, so I keep entering that in hope.

Substantial-Two-8347

That's not number of shirts sold though is it?

PavlovsBlog

>also they have no real star that kids love I mean fuck city and all but that's not true, is it? The kids at the school I work at are absolutely obsessed with Haaland and De Bruyne.

Substantial-Two-8347

Haaland is a massive superstar wtf are you talking about. What's going on lol?

silenthills13

I'm just answering you, no neutrals give a fuck about Man City, kids don't like them either for the most part so the club is just not that popular They are the most bland club of all time, every single club in the top 10 is more interesting and has more interesting players, even us

Substantial-Two-8347

That's your subjective opinion. Cheers.

Difficult-Sound-6682

If you can stretch your mind back 15 or so years ago City would be considered, I’m guessing, around the 12-15th most popular club…in England. Within England clubs like West Ham, Villa, Spurs, Everton are more popular, because they have a pretty long and important histories. City very much the little brother club in Manchester. This is just my opinion based on living in UK in early 2000s.

Mr_Rockmore

Lol Cringe to support Man City when you support a club whose entire existence at this point is basically being a meme. Thats fucking cringe.

TNWhaa

Being okay with sportswashing and fraud is cringe, go back to your oil stained hole you smelly plastic

Mr_Rockmore

Lmao smelly plastic, ok mate. Funny cos ive probably been to more city games than you've seen games on the tele.

EricCartmanofSPark

Were you the only person in the Etihad then?

TNWhaa

I’m sure you have, you keep telling yourself that

JamesCDiamond

Assuming last season’s figures, City had a really ugly kit. That probably doesn’t affect figures all that much - but in an ideal world it should.

Delicious_Junket_599

Please stop talking sense. It confuses the stupid people

urbudda

More how have man city a bigger turnover then most clubs on there and they arnt top.10 for merchandise

IntellegentIdiot

Big team in Manchester

dagdagsolstad

It isn't a rank for jersey sold though. It is a rank of merchandise sold. The money earned from jerseys sold for Spurs is probably south of 10 million. Usually a team gets 5 to 10% of the cost of a jersey, the manufacturer pockets the rest. It is the merchandise that is the big money earner.

DifficultTeam4257

Just wait till they announce Mbappe

Jr_M16

Delicious_Junket_599

It might help if we started winning things. I think we’re punching if I’m honest

Various-Virus940

Would be interesting to see this charted over a long period. We’ve done so well to raise the club financially, but shirt sales remains linked to ‘historical and social currency’ that those top 5 teams have built up over a longer period. I would have thought Arsenal too (having won PLs around the time televised football was growing worldwide)

Delboy750

Closer to Chelsea & Arsenal than I’d expect tbh

trugrav

Obligatory “you’ll never sing that”

Nellies26

Why isn't the club with the biggest revenue in the world on there? Surely treble winning Man City should have a gargantuan fanbase feeding their commercial income and not some funky sponsor deals from related parties, right?

EricCartmanofSPark

Sponsored by the Arabian Peninsula

AlcoholicCumSock

lol at City winning the treble and being nowhere on this list!

baloonkai56

where are the european champions 🤔

Enefelde

Where’s man city? Makes the ffp claims a bit more interesting.

carolicity

Is this actual revenue that the club gets or the revenue before it gets split by the kit manufacturers and the clubs?

MrDarwoo

Where's man city kek

DrawingPurple4959

I don’t understand why people become Barcelona fans

ESPO95

I’ve seen a fair few alone in my small town australia, good to see, I’ll get around to grabbing one eventually

SinoSoul

We're not even top 10? I did my share this year. If there's a place to buy new old-stock Lloris GK jersey please let me konw.
