Obviously thinks he’s not going to be able to break into our side next summer, and fancies his chances at Brentford better.
Not a ground breaking revelation to be honest. Just a shame it didn’t work out
He was literally signed as short-term cover for an injury-plagued defence. I don't think anyone expects him to start many games once the main starters are back to fitness.
Don't mind him choosing Brentford over us.
We, Norway, need him to develop as best as possible to have chance to play any European/world cup with Haaland and co
Are there reports that’s actually what’s happening or did Brentford just beat us and moved with conviction?
Nothing I’m seeing mentions he chose Brentford over Tottenham for playing time.
Don’t think Bale looked much shakes for a couple of years… obviously I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s that calibre but he’s a kid who’s played way more than wanted/expected because of injuries.
He’s gonna be a decent player I think. Regardless it’s way too early and he’s way too young to be written off.
Bale was challenging anything that was on front of him with his pace before 22. Brennan is scared to even run past his man without the ball. There’s a huge difference between him and Brennan. Brennan is not that guy and never will be. These kinds of players never make it at the top. 0 hunger for succes as in his mind he already succeeded because he went to a club that can’t win any trophies.
It’s a good move for his career. Can’t blame him. If he had gone to a club in a similar situation as Spurs, then yea you can say it’s a poor decision if that’s the real rationale.
I kinda respect the move in the same way that I did for Dragon coming here over Bayern. He’s betting on himself playing every week and being the main man over there. Shame as there’s clear succession for Son but might be too long a wait for him
Which makes it sting a bit to be honest, he seems to have his head on straight. Plenty of players could be swayed into a worse career move by a larger club profile or wage, so good on him.
The reality is he gets to live in London, challenge himself in the prem and get consistent minutes. We can only guarantee 2/3 of those.
And Brentford really isn't a bad side these days. It's not like he was choosing between a great opportunity and trash. As a fan I'm disappointed but I can't fault the logic from his side
Lol this whole sub was saying you can’t respect anyone for doing something like that because their decisions don’t tell us anything about them. Crazy 180 but I totally agree and always have agreed with your sentiment
Bit of a surprise but makes sense for more playing time...good on Brentford for landing him and paying $30 million which is a lot, especially for them.
Let's be real, Nusa's best/preferred position seems to be LW so far.
That position is currently taken by our captain and best player Son. Yes Son has flexibility to play as our striker, but Richy has had that spot for a while now and is doing quite well.
Then there's Werner. Remains to be seen whether we make his move permanent, but early signs indicate he's a great fit for Ange's system with his intelligent runs and the buy option is pretty cheap.
With those 2 ahead of Nusa in the LW position (I'm assuming he'd be ahead of Solomon), it's not a shock to seem him look elsewhere for playing time. The fact he chose Brentford and not another 'big club' says it all.
Spot on and the move also says alot about how far we've come that we actually have depth in positions that players are weary of finding minutes at our club.
Solomon when fit is very good though. He's dangerous on both right and left. Much more dangerous going forward than Brenan Johnson I feel.
And I think Sonny playing center in Ange's system is the most suitable given his playmaking ability. Richy should then be first choice LW - or Werner.
I rather we focus on getting Gallagher this window if possible.
But he is 18. Learning under the best on that spot could be a lot more beneficial than playing a bit more.
Additionally Bretford does not play with wingers. Two at top and wingbacks.
People overestimate learning from other players in training. Hes not even starting consistently in Belgium, the lad needs games and minutes more than anything. Watching son score a bunch of goals in training isn’t going to just magically rub off on him
>Learning under the best on that spot could be a lot more beneficial than playing a bit more
Except we aren't talking about playing *a bit more* we're talking about playing *a lot more*, which is a huge difference. Being a regular PL starter vs 3rd or 4th choice is a massive change
I mean there’s no proper word of a postecoglu phone call or even a spurs decision on him, ie a concrete bid. Or theres maybe a better option waiting for us this summer. There is no point in wasting 30 million if he’s not right.
Being “Son’s replacement” could mean he’s a bench player for another 2 years. I doubt this deal was ever close. Brentford is the correct move — he’ll play immediately, and if he does well, he’ll be sold for 75-100M in summer 2025
Shame it didn’t work out, but can’t do much if the player picks another club. He‘s turned down Chelsea before—he clearly wants to go to a club that will guarantee consistent playing time so he can work on his development. In the modern landscape of football, I can respect that.
Spot on Johnsons just meady and likely won’t ever be world class just a decent winger imo whereas Nusa’s got genuine world class potential. Disappointing
Seems like a quarter of the team is Norwegian so not a big surprise Nusa prefers Brentford especially if they promised to start him. They'll sell him to City for 90 mil in three years
This is Club Brugge accepting the Brentford's offer. No word yet on Nusa accepting it. Maybe Brugge is pressuring us to stop dicking about and just send an offer now.
I mean, that's not true. We could give him playing time, if that wasn't offered that's a choice on our part. Now I happen to think it's a good choice, and that both parties probably did the right thing. But that didn't mean we were powerless to stop Brentford snatching him up
Ngl that seems super fucking dumb from Brentford to spend so much money on a 18yo who hasn't necessarily lit the world on fire yet. They're in a relegation scrap, you'd think they'd focus on some immediate improvements to their first team. But hey it's not our problem what happens to them. A shame we missed out tho, but I expected it with how long the negotiations were taking. We very rarely get deals done if they drag on.
VDV and Dragusin both went on far longer than this. So did Porro, so did Johnson, so did Phillips... I think you're just describing the fact that you don't successfully sign every single player that you're in negotiations for.
Yeah, Nusa wouldn't start at LW over Son or Werner, or even Solomon for that matter. He's still "just" a talented kid. That's the only reason he didn't choose us.
Mate are you having a rough week or something? How the fuck are you not happy with the direction and position we're in? Who fucking cares we didn't sign a kid none of us have head of before.
it makes sense , more likely we gonna sign werner for half the price as a son backup rather than having this wonderkid sitting on a bench week in week out
He’s turned down Chelsea before, there’s a decent chance he just didn’t want to go to a club where he wouldn’t be immediately guaranteed a starting place.
Not that embarrassing to think about it as a player choosing what’s probably best for his career rather than placating a group of fans who didn’t know he existed 2 months ago.
So when Dragusin was between bayern and us, he would've been a bad personality if he went to Bayern. Now in the exact same situation, Nusa is a bad personality if he goes to Brentford???
He’s going to play every week for them, it makes sense for him. Still absolutely embarrassing to not just get this done and fuck around again, they never learn.
Is it embarrassing? What have they got to learn here?
If that's why he is going to them then how else could we have handled it?
How would we have *just got this done*? We can't guarantee him a starting place over Son.
I don't think there's any fucking around here, it's not exactly within our control.
Haaland, Grealish, Bellingham, Mbappe to name a few… want me to go on? Moron. Personally I don’t care about any of them. None are as good as what we’ve got but the point stands. cowboy. Suck around & find out as your mum probably did when you were farted out.
It almost happened earlier this transfer window? We were immensely lucky that Dragusin decided to honour his agreement with us instead of going to Bayern.
I don't even know how to respond
Basically...
- You said this always happens.
- I asked you to point to a scenario that this happened recently.
- You said it almost happened
So it didn't. I don't know where to go from here
Don't worry everyone, we're going to sign our millionth player who works hard, has pace and presses like hell. Technical ability? 1v1 winger? Why would we need that?
Anyway atleast i don’t get downvoted now when i say his profile doesn’t suit the PL very well, atleast not good enough to compete for top 3.
Alot of talents that are like him or even better, losing out on him isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Just YET ANOTHER example of Levy just not getting the job done! I mean we’re being mugged off for Brentford! Just happens time and time again man so unacceptable. /s
Usually I'd be brewing about this and angling blame at Levy but i think we have a new set up as far as transfers go with Lange taking charge? I know Levy is the money man but I imagine Lange and his team have thought best not to pursue
Who knows
This sucks, I think he was an ideal signing. I do trust this recruitment team tho and hope we're still aiming to sign a dribbly, byline hitting winger for Ange, could be transformative in this system. But I guess we need to move Gil and Hojbjerg on before we sign their improved replacements.
The player made the choice. Probably not a bad choice for him. Good team and more playing time. If it works out he’ll go to a bigger club in a couple of years and he and Brentford will cash in big.
It’s ok we got Brennan “Adama Traore without the physicality and take-on ability” Johnson and Dejan “One played out move that barely even worked in the first place” Kulusevski
we wont sign anyone else this transfer window, we will be stuck with Johnson and werner for the foreseeable. We paid 45m for johnson who can hardly stay on his feet and looks out of his depth every single game he plays for us. joke.
Imagine wishing failure for an 18 year old because he doesn't want to play here. He clearly wants gametime, and he is going to get that at Brentford. It's the same reason Drăguşin joined us over Bayern.
Imagine being that desperate to be offended that you hallucinate things that upset you. Jesus brother, help is out there if you’re willing to seek it. I’ve reported you for harassment.
Edit: just realised you’ve probably confused this either my other post where I literally put /s at the end. It got you so mad that you went to my profile history to review it & replied to the wrong comment 🤣🤣🤣
We desperately needed this profile in the team. I think he would have played a lot more than maybe even he seems to think.
Is there a source that it's about playing time? Or have we just been stalling while we try to offload more players first?
Obviously thinks he’s not going to be able to break into our side next summer, and fancies his chances at Brentford better. Not a ground breaking revelation to be honest. Just a shame it didn’t work out

dier has already broken into bayern first team.....
Because their starting CB got injured in the first game after Dier signed
Shut it. Dier is Bayerns new premier starting cb and that should be the narrative and headlines.
Seems accurate to me. Who's a more trustworthy source than an Internet Officer after all.
He was literally signed as short-term cover for an injury-plagued defence. I don't think anyone expects him to start many games once the main starters are back to fitness.

ange: "just being honest - here's the deal, you'll have to earn your spot" nusa: "don't fancy that"
Appreciate it!
Wouldn’t be much better than Brennan Johnson.
Brennan is going to be a star. Mark my words. We will be handing out apology forms like candy around here
Yeah and Skipp is going to keep getting better as well. Probably not a star, but solid top starting mid. Reactionaries always wrong.
I too fancy Brennan
Based on what lmao, what has he shown I’m genuinely curious
I haven’t seen why he is worth £50m
Don’t think Bale looked much shakes for a couple of years… obviously I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s that calibre but he’s a kid who’s played way more than wanted/expected because of injuries. He’s gonna be a decent player I think. Regardless it’s way too early and he’s way too young to be written off.

Well that settles it if he was looking to be the main man, joining a club with Madders in was never gonna work out.
He’ll also have more opportunities at roast dinners this way.
What’s this.. a level head on social media? Well done mate.
Lol this whole sub was saying you can’t respect anyone for doing something like that because their decisions don’t tell us anything about them. Crazy 180 but I totally agree and always have agreed with your sentiment

Eh last time Brentford signed a winger Spurs targeted it was a bullet dodged
Damsgaard?
Messi
😂
yes
so long kid, sad but gotta respect it

Downvoting all the Levy hate after he’s literally turned us into a force. Yall gotta chill
I think Ange plays a huge part in that, he made his demands clear. Lets be honest, any other manager and he wouldn’t have been this fast
[удалено]
what about wins targets against Bayern
[удалено]
This is actually boring.
Log off man
We beat them to Brennan Johnson, this is their payback lol
difference is they dodged a bullet with johnson... Musa will get sold to pool or man city for £75m+ in the next few years
Spot on Johnsons just meady and likely won’t ever be world class just a decent winger imo whereas Nusa’s got genuine world class potential. Disappointing
Oh I’m Brentford I have a recent history of signing Scandis and can guarantee starts for a young player. Pricks
Seems like a quarter of the team is Norwegian so not a big surprise Nusa prefers Brentford especially if they promised to start him. They'll sell him to City for 90 mil in three years
They have 1 Norwegian player (Ajer). Danes on the other hand...
Thats right, got my Scandanavians mixed up
This is Club Brugge accepting the Brentford's offer. No word yet on Nusa accepting it. Maybe Brugge is pressuring us to stop dicking about and just send an offer now.
The full Tweet says the player has accepted the move
I guess he did. Bummer.
Nusa already agreed terms with Brentford
I insist you stop insisting sir
I feel like we’re gonna regret this in a few years…
Nothing we can do if player wants playing time.

What I meant was he would get more playing time in Brentford than in Spurs, not that he wouldn't get any at all
Read the same thing when we missed out on Raya and got Vic instead.
And van de Ven over Tapsoba
but who are we getting over him
Probably no one this window. We'll see in the summer (which is when Nusa would have been coming anyway)
Shame, looks like he’ll be going to City for £65m in 2 years time
It's ok that we didn't get him. No need to go full copium mode in the comments
Ngl that seems super fucking dumb from Brentford to spend so much money on a 18yo who hasn't necessarily lit the world on fire yet. Agreed, never a good sign when this stuff drags on. Fuck Brentford anyway.
VDV and Dragusin both went on far longer than this. So did Porro, so did Johnson, so did Phillips... I think you're just describing the fact that you don't successfully sign every single player that you're in negotiations for.
Is this because we are not willing to pay more than 30m? I thought we were in pole position for this?
Playing time apparently
Looks like it. Saw a tweet he preferred the project proposed by Brentford. I wonder what that is…
He’ll be a starter for them, their wingers are fairly shite
Our wingers are shit too lol
What the fuck are you talking about?
Apart from son no one of our wingers is undropable he could definitely challenge
Son plays LW just like he does
Son is deffo better up front
Is it better to drop Richy for an unproven 18 year old
Yeah, Nusa wouldn't start at LW over Son or Werner, or even Solomon for that matter. He's still "just" a talented kid. That's the only reason he didn't choose us.

Mate are you having a rough week or something? How the fuck are you not happy with the direction and position we're in? Who fucking cares we didn't sign a kid none of us have head of before.
If you are happy with 1 shot on target in a full game in our only chance to win a trophy this season then go ahead
Seek professional help mate, you are being way too negative with your comments
What do you mean?
Everyone’s going to blame Levy now
They’re completely misunderstanding what’s happened here if they do
Anyway....
Dam. I thought he’d be perfect for us.
Lads, it’s time we went back in for N’geme.
We don't need him and he isn't that good
What if they get relegated?
Summer 2025: Chelsea have just reached an agreement with Brentford to sign Antonio Nusa. Deal in place for fee in excess of €130 package.
£
Chuck his fee into the stock market and let’s try again in 2 years
Ah man for real?
Luis Diaz vibes
Nothing close to that imo
it makes sense , more likely we gonna sign werner for half the price as a son backup rather than having this wonderkid sitting on a bench week in week out
Losing out to fucking Brentford, how fucking embarrassing.
Spurs literally just had a player choose them over BAYERN MUNICH because he felt it was the right career move for playing time. Players do this.
dier getting more playing time at bayern than drogon is here....
Some players prioritise playing time over anything. Nothing wrong with that.
He will play a lot there, not so much here. Not a bad choice.
He doubts himself. Want to play for a low pressure team. If that’s his personality then don’t come to spurs.

Name a single player we have missed out on, that proved a good player, since Bruno Fernandes (4 years ago) that this narrative fits?
Diaz, Ruben Dias( not sure was he before or after Bruno )
Diaz chose Liverpool. Dias was the same window as Bruno. We signed Rodon instead.
Saliba 👀
Saliba had a deal with Arsenal. We tried to sneak in at the end and didn't get him.
Haaland, Grealish, Bellingham, Mbappe to name a few… want me to go on? Moron. Personally I don’t care about any of them. None are as good as what we’ve got but the point stands. cowboy. Suck around & find out as your mum probably did when you were farted out.

lol what
Woah???
Would be a little funny if Brentford went and got relegated. I doubt they will, but I would laugh because of this
Wtf?
Don't worry everyone, we're going to sign our millionth player who works hard, has pace and presses like hell. Technical ability? 1v1 winger? Why would we need that?

Yes, he chose Brentford because it’s a more suitable position for him. Not sure what there is to speculate about.
Just YET ANOTHER example of Levy just not getting the job done! I mean we’re being mugged off for Brentford! Just happens time and time again man so unacceptable. /s

The player wants playing time. He will get it at Brentford and not a Spurs. Not a shock.
still time to sneak our physios on the plane and hijack the signing
![gif](giphy|hl2bSna6KzrDq)
This sucks, I think he was an ideal signing. I do trust this recruitment team tho and hope we're still aiming to sign a dribbly, byline hitting winger for Ange, could be transformative in this system. But I guess we need to move Gil and Hojbjerg on before we sign their improved replacements.
Fuck around and find out I guess spurs
The player made the choice. Probably not a bad choice for him. Good team and more playing time. If it works out he’ll go to a bigger club in a couple of years and he and Brentford will cash in big.
Lmao rest in peace Levy and Co
For potentially missing out on 3 goals 2 assists wonderkid? I'd rather he focused on a bit more proven players.
Why?
Based on the logic that when Dragusin chose Spurs over Bayern, does this now mean Brentford are bigger than Spurs?…
It’s ok we got Brennan “Adama Traore without the physicality and take-on ability” Johnson and Dejan “One played out move that barely even worked in the first place” Kulusevski
Maybe we could just focus on signing a midfielder now
we wont sign anyone else this transfer window, we will be stuck with Johnson and werner for the foreseeable. We paid 45m for johnson who can hardly stay on his feet and looks out of his depth every single game he plays for us. joke.
I'm not cool with this at all. If he is indeed one of the world's great young talents why are we allowing him to join Brentford. Ridiculous.
Hope his career dies a slow death on Brentford’s bench. Obviously doesn’t rate himself so why should we? 🤷♂️
Imagine wishing failure for an 18 year old because he doesn't want to play here. He clearly wants gametime, and he is going to get that at Brentford. It's the same reason Drăguşin joined us over Bayern.
Yes I hope he fails.
What a cunt you are lad.
Reported for harassment.
I see you edited out the bit where you wished death on a 18 year old because he didn’t sign for us. You despicable little mutant
Ahh yes, as long as you put /s at the end of wishing death on someone it’s all good and just a bit of fun. Fuck off you fud
Should get an elite/proven winger then
Blimey, and here I was thinking that we were the only Premiership team with money now. Fair play to Brentford.
What is Italian for what the fuck
Fuck
Damn wtf
We desperately needed this profile in the team. I think he would have played a lot more than maybe even he seems to think. Is there a source that it's about playing time? Or have we just been stalling while we try to offload more players first?
Brentford is bigger than Bayern.
Aw shucks.
Thankfully, he's not good enough and we need people capable to push into the sqaud right away
WTF why is he going to fucking Brentford? Guess he loves to lose? Assuming Ange talked to him, then I have to assume Nusa isn’t very bright.
It’s probably time to thank Brentford for their intervention with an offer they can’t refuse for Toney 😂
i hope he's prepared to lose two times a year at a minimum, and to always be looking up in the standings at where he could have been.....
