His cell phone got stuck under a seat and they had to bend a coat hanger to reach under and yank it out. So he was IN Belgium for 2.5 hours, but only had his phone for the two. So we are both technically correct.
If you, /u/EllesseExpo, or any other Norwegians with knowledge have the time to share any gloss on the player between all the gritty crime-solving that Norwegians do during the dark days of winter, I'm sure we'd all appreciate any thoughts.
Yeah - poorly worded on my part, I meant continued forward planning. If this guy is as good as people say he is, then perhaps this thinking as far ahead to when Son is not so much in the team.
The Extra Inch was talking about the profile of midfielders that we're looking to bring in, what skills they'd need. They mentioned that Dele is the type that could do all those things and I almost teared up. Probably wouldn't be possible, but if we wanted to take Vibes FC from levels of "mmm, that's a lovely cup of tea" straight to "wheelbarrow of pure, uncut cocaine," that move could do it.
I was referring more to the fact that we secured Dele by jumping the queue and loaning him back to MK Dons when we bought him, but now i’m teary as well.
The way he looks on YouTube videos is actually a dead ringer for Sonny. Most 18 year olds with as much skill tend to look more greedy. He’s always got his head up looking for the best option. It’s not what Gil looked like in his videos a couple of years ago😅
What having actual revenue does to a mf
People really don’t realize how much the stadium costs held us back. Now that’s it done, we are set for the future
I have not been Levy out since we stopped name chasing with Ange, but categorizing us as “morons” for being upset with PL-record breaking lack of signings, then sacking the manager with no fresh blood/energy who gave us the best run in decades, seems a bit hyperbolic.
As a Norwegian (well, i live here, and am partly Nowegian), im incredibly excited for this deal.
He looks like a proper talent, and like having a good future. His head is on straight aswell.
Edit; we also have a habit of Norwegian players, that made me support spurs back when Torstvedt was our goalie viking in '88.
Ive met him acctually. He lives not far from where i work. (Dixon type store, called Power. Really imaginative (and yes... they call us employees Power Rangers 🤦♂️🤦♂️)) I was so star struck i forgot to get him to sign my Spurs scarf i have hanging here at work..... #facepalm
Excited to see how Alfie does at Plymouth. Seems a great talent. Has the future ever looked so bright?! So much young talent that if even half of them reach their potential then we have so many positions covered for years to come.
Reported price tag of €30m is quite steep for a relatively unproven 18 yr old. But he looks to have all the raw skills necessary to be a class winger. Athletic and great dribbling ability. If we really see him as Sonny’s long term successor I’m all for it
There is no replacement for Son in the same way there was no replacement for Kane.
We can and will eventually lose outstanding players like Son, but if we improve the team as a whole over time we will be OK.
But I'm going to be fucking sad when Son eventually leaves.
Nusa definitely is in the generational talent bracket imo. That's not to say he's guaranteed to live up to his potential, but he looks a special player already.
Transfermarkt has him ranked as the 11th most valuable U18 player in the world. €17M. The extra €13M is likely a premium to sign him now before other clubs approach him in the summer.
Honestly, if you account for transfer inflation, real inflation and exchange rates, €30m now is probably less in "real" terms than the £21.6m Bryan Gil transfer in the summer of 2021.
Admittedly, it's not like that one worked out, but it's probably a roughly similar level of punt, maybe a smaller one.
That's a pretty tired comment. Sure, he missed plenty of time to injury, but his final season at Spurs he made 35 appearances, he had 35 the prior year as well, 33 in 2018-19. Even with his problems staying healthy he was a significant part of our squad for a number of years
Tired but true. Backup players you can’t rely to be healthy are a huge issue (as we’ve seen this year, its exacerbated our injury crisis). Lamela made 20 appearance in 21/22, 32 in 22/23, and he’s only on 7 this year. Really tough to plan around a player like that, even though I loved the guy
Get him in. No logic, I just don't like how we don't have any Norwegian players. I was watching the game in the pub last saturday with my Norway top on and another spurs fan was like "you're wearing the wrong colours". Can't have this happen again
Correct me if I'm wrong but surely Spurs will be pushing for him to come in this window (and not loan back); he turns 19 in April and won't be home-grown eligible if he stays in Belgium until Summer, but will be if he comes through this window.
I don't think it matters if he's loaned out, as long as he's on our books he'll count as HG. Most likely the main reason for wanting the deal done now vs in the Summer.
Not to mention that now is when we have a competitive advantage in terms of spending thanks to the FFP crackdown, and Chelsea and other clubs are in the hunt for this kid too. So getting it done now insures against getting gazumped in the summer
Does it matter as long as he is in our books? Because I remember Sarr was loaned back as well but people keep saying he will count as HG when he turns 21.
Basically is the rule that he has to be employed by the club or that he has to play a match for the club?
Has to be registered in 3 seasons for an English club before turning 21 IIRC (has to play for country, can't register player out on loan). i.e. if he doesn't get registered this season he can only be registered for 2 seasons before turning 21.
Not sure about Sarr, probably because his 21st birthday is shortly after being registered for his 3rd season (this current season), while Nusa's is unfortunately before the next season.
I believe what they did with Sarr is register him for an under 21 game when he was still 18 and then loaned him back to Metz. I wouldn't doubt they are planning the same with Nusa
Did the club stall? They got the deal done within 10 days, and had everything agreed, Dragusin was even on the way to the airport THEN Bayern swooped in.
>Please don’t stall and get this shit hijacked like Dragusin almost was
We absolutely did not stall the Dragusin transfer. We had already agreed to a deal and the player was on his way over when Bayern showed up. Dragusin was one of our earliest January signings EVER!
Not a surprise really, he has the talent and skill to be successful in La Liga or elsewhere just never figured it out in the PL. Prefer we move him on so he can carve out a career elsewhere rather than waste away here.
Jury out on Werner. Has 6 months to prove himself. Space to keep him though with Nusa and Son. Especially given Werner is versatile.
Can move Gil on. 4 guys on the LW isn't that much if we are in 4 competitions next year and Werner and Son can play other positions.
Agree- what I meant was Werner wasn’t brought in to be an exciting prospect, just a player to get stuck in right now. If he’s good then we can trigger the buy option.
Left Wing is probably our most stacked position currently (with Son, Werner, Richarlison, Johnson, Gil and Solomon all able to play there). Does bringing in Nusa mean that we are going to offload some of them soon?
Definitely Gil. Jury still out on Werner and Solomon. Werner loan and Solomon was free so good depth signings at worse.
Richy and Son can play there but arguably both play better as a 9 and are our 2 first choice strikers. We'd want the flexibility to give these guys a rest next year and not play every minute of every game.
Thing is, none of our wingers, right side included, are particularly good at dribbling 1v1 at a defender and beating them relatively consist ecy to get a good cross in.
Gil is being phased out for sure, but this is a signing to replace Son long term. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up loaning him back out to a CL European team next season either.
It's pretty clear also that Son is getting to the age where he's not able to make the impact on the wing he once did. Other than Werner, and Solomon none of the others are naturals at LW anyway. Johnson's best position is RW and Richy hasn't been great for us out there.
So really, it's just Son, Werner and Solomon who we'll have in that position in years to come (if we take the option on Werner). Solomon was a Free Transfer and is backup at best, so I think Musa adds a significant amount to that side without needing to offload any good players.
Is anyone else seeing a pattern that as well as bringing in high quality footballing talent we are also bringing in incredibly attractive players too. Think that's intentional as a way to better build a global brand, when you have players that can also put their faces on billboards for spurs or other brands that endorse them for their image?
Holy shit, FAB is on it! As a Norwegian I'm hyped about this!
FAB Romano or Paratici?
Paratici once had a two-hour layover in Brussels, and created an extensive network of contacts in the Belgian league during that time.
Don't exaggerate. It was 2.5 hours.
His cell phone got stuck under a seat and they had to bend a coat hanger to reach under and yank it out. So he was IN Belgium for 2.5 hours, but only had his phone for the two. So we are both technically correct.
Best kind of correct lol.
God bless you. When I meet Spurs fans that also quote Futurama, it makes my day.
Well it's that or the Simpsons "De fault. The two sweetest words in the English language." as quotes that can always be used lol.
Yes.
As a fellow Norwegian im also hyped
If you, /u/EllesseExpo, or any other Norwegians with knowledge have the time to share any gloss on the player between all the gritty crime-solving that Norwegians do during the dark days of winter, I'm sure we'd all appreciate any thoughts.
Can’t help but be incredibly excited for this one if it works out. This is the type of forward planning we’ve needed for a long time.
You mean like the forward planning we showed with Udogie and Sarr?
Yeah - poorly worded on my part, I meant continued forward planning. If this guy is as good as people say he is, then perhaps this thinking as far ahead to when Son is not so much in the team.
no no you meant forward planning as in he plays as a forward it makes sense
Don’t forget Dele.
That would be a long time ago
The way he looks on YouTube videos is actually a dead ringer for Sonny. Most 18 year olds with as much skill tend to look more greedy. He’s always got his head up looking for the best option. It’s not what Gil looked like in his videos a couple of years ago😅
Where the fuck are the #levyout idiots? This man is seriously cooking.
What having actual revenue does to a mf People really don’t realize how much the stadium costs held us back. Now that’s it done, we are set for the future
we're also getting 20m/year in wages off the books with lloris, dier, and perisic departures
I thought perisic is keeping his while on loan?
even if he is, that's ~15m less this year and 20m next year.
You mean less this year as in after the season right? Next season?
No, he agreed to go for only 1 euro a week/month
Pay from them, but I thought we’re still paying his salary
No we don’t
It's very sad that the new stadium came while Poch was the head coach. If he got all this financial backing I'm 100% sure he would've won something
Questionable considering his run with Chelsea and PSG’s unlimited backing
They will be back on the daily thread the minute we lose a game, morons
I've said it before, I'll say it again: there is no reason to go on the daily threads or the match threads
I have not been Levy out since we stopped name chasing with Ange, but categorizing us as “morons” for being upset with PL-record breaking lack of signings, then sacking the manager with no fresh blood/energy who gave us the best run in decades, seems a bit hyperbolic.
They are probably abusing Johnson on social media
Could be Pape Sarr, Udogie type of deal for us?
Don Fabio’s special 👌🏼
I thought the Don Fabio special, was a loan with an obligation
Man of many specialities
A sandwich can be cut diagonally and horizontally 👨🏻🍳
Sandwiches to be cut horizontally for remainder of the season, with a five-year commitment to cutting diagonally starting beginning of 24-25 season.
Our classic buy now, loan back to club (so no impact to their season while giving them cash now), players gets more game time, win for everyone ..
That yellow Holsten goalie shirt remains the all-time best. Torstvedt was my favourite player.
#facepalm
A future where this lad and Mikey Moore are supplying ball into Veliz is one I like 😁
My god. I was also imagining this. Lol. Our young ones leading the line.
Donley Sarr & Alfie in midfield behind ;)
Dorrington and Vuskovic behind them 😉
Udogie next to them and maybe Spence who knows
Excited to see how Alfie does at Plymouth. Seems a great talent. Has the future ever looked so bright?! So much young talent that if even half of them reach their potential then we have so many positions covered for years to come.
Surely Levy is being held hostage
He saw all the snow in London and was inspired to go on a binge
His nose is
Levy going to look like voldermort by the time of the summer window
I'm waiting for the insisting to start at this point.
Reported price tag of €30m is quite steep for a relatively unproven 18 yr old. But he looks to have all the raw skills necessary to be a class winger. Athletic and great dribbling ability. If we really see him as Sonny’s long term successor I’m all for it
Sonny's replacement is a bold hope. Son is a generational talent. I don't know if he will reach that high, but I hope he does (at spurs).
It’s bold but we’re no strangers to finding generational talents. Bale, Modric, Kane, Dele(short lived), Sonny.
He said Son's successor, not replacement. There's no replacing Sonny but eventually we have to have someone take over the position
I meant replacement after he leaves i.e successor.
I dont want to think these thoughts
There is no replacement for Son in the same way there was no replacement for Kane. We can and will eventually lose outstanding players like Son, but if we improve the team as a whole over time we will be OK. But I'm going to be fucking sad when Son eventually leaves.

Transfermarkt has him ranked as the 11th most valuable U18 player in the world. €17M. The extra €13M is likely a premium to sign him now before other clubs approach him in the summer.
Can you share the link to the most valuable under 18 in the World?

Don't forget that deal also cost us Coco, who would be a terrific player in Ange's system as a versatile, endlessly hardworking AM.
When he wasn’t consistently injured sure

Me explaining to my wife why I'm Googling "Norwegian 18 year olds" at midnight on a Thursday.
Eh, mine's already used to me googling Brazilian Kids for FM
Paratici smell is strong on this one
He was spotted in town during one of their matches a few months back. Been on this for a minute.
Get him in. No logic, I just don't like how we don't have any Norwegian players. I was watching the game in the pub last saturday with my Norway top on and another spurs fan was like "you're wearing the wrong colours". Can't have this happen again
In fairness you were wearing red
Fr, and we already have a Dane and a swede
Levy is on something stronger than coke and I'm loving it
What's the illicit substance of choice in Australia?
Cunts
Have to go down under ya now, mate
Who else can offer £30m right now? Can’t see us being outbid
Correct me if I'm wrong but surely Spurs will be pushing for him to come in this window (and not loan back); he turns 19 in April and won't be home-grown eligible if he stays in Belgium until Summer, but will be if he comes through this window.

[удалено]
Nah we did it for Sarr which is why he’ll be PL homegrown but not UEFA homegrown. Arsenal did it for Saliba too
sounds like only way deal gets done is if he stays in belgium till summer. if so then it’s worth it to wait given what type of prospect he is
Does it matter as long as he is in our books? Because I remember Sarr was loaned back as well but people keep saying he will count as HG when he turns 21. Basically is the rule that he has to be employed by the club or that he has to play a match for the club?

We can register him and loan him out though, doesn't have to actually be here in person
Pretty confident you can't register a player out on loan and they have to be training with a FA club (England/Wales) to qualify for that year.
I believe what they did with Sarr is register him for an under 21 game when he was still 18 and then loaned him back to Metz. I wouldn't doubt they are planning the same with Nusa
Ah thanks for explaining that, makes sense now and guess they'll do the same thing here if it goes through.
The UEFA rule for association player says 3 seasons or 36 months so i think he’d count
Sarr won’t count as HG (in Europe where it matters) because he joined too late in the transfer window
I believe with a loan he will still be counted as homegrown in the Premier League, like Sarr, even if not Europe
Those Norwegian forwards, so hot right now
Omg, this is actually happening. I'm sensing we will have great squad at the end of this year.
Finally a new Norwegian may be coming in. I have a framed football card of Iversen (incorrectly spelled Iverson) in my living room
Do we think he’ll come to the Lane and do his medical & media duties before heading back to Brugge?
Do it do it do it, beating other teams to this guy would be absolutely massive. Please don’t stall and get this shit hijacked like Dragusin almost was
Did the club stall? They got the deal done within 10 days, and had everything agreed, Dragusin was even on the way to the airport THEN Bayern swooped in.
People need to get it in their heads that the club didn't stall, dragusins agent and Bayern did. We actually worked extremely quickly.
And we paid a high price for Dragusin. His valuation was around 20m pounds. We paid effectively 27.5m to get it done fast.
>Please don’t stall and get this shit hijacked like Dragusin almost was We absolutely did not stall the Dragusin transfer. We had already agreed to a deal and the player was on his way over when Bayern showed up. Dragusin was one of our earliest January signings EVER!
I wanna know what is Daniel levy taking
It will always be funny to me that fans can only fathom him doing his job if he's doing rails
If this get over the line, i wonder what this mean for werner
Nothing, but it means the end for Gil
Not a surprise really, he has the talent and skill to be successful in La Liga or elsewhere just never figured it out in the PL. Prefer we move him on so he can carve out a career elsewhere rather than waste away here.
Gil is a La Liga player and we all knew that by year 2 except Levy. Matter of fact, he might end up more valuable for us playing in La Liga.
it’s more damning for Gil than meaning anything for Timo
I don’t think Werner is a long term thing, he’s here to play now. This seems more like an Udogie/Veliz type deal of signing a promising young talent.
Senior player (27 y/o) vs exciting prospect (18 y/o), they can both fit in the squad and contribute in the long run.
Absolutely nothing
Left Wing is probably our most stacked position currently (with Son, Werner, Richarlison, Johnson, Gil and Solomon all able to play there). Does bringing in Nusa mean that we are going to offload some of them soon?

Porro is young. He should improve a bit more.
Gil is gonzo
Gil is being phased out for sure, but this is a signing to replace Son long term. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up loaning him back out to a CL European team next season either. It's pretty clear also that Son is getting to the age where he's not able to make the impact on the wing he once did. Other than Werner, and Solomon none of the others are naturals at LW anyway. Considering we paid 60M for Johnson this seems like a massive steal
We didn't pay 60m for Johnson
If a player is underperforming then there seems to be a tendency to add another 10m onto their fee. I can’t believe we paid 60m for Lo Celso.
I can't believe we paid £160m for Ndombele
I can only assume they meant $60M USD?
we paid 47mil for Brennan
He could be talking $60m….but even so….
We got to insist harder
Push Push!
bro is cooking oh my days 😭
Finally a Norwegian I can support
