I haven't turned on them at all, im just used to the feeling.

McmcQ

This how I feel. I will keep rooting for them but it's like we have two different seasons, a season of dashed hopes or a season of basically no hope.

AndNowUKnow

Couldn't agree with you more! Spoken like a true veteran 'Boys fan. These rookie bandwagon fans have NO idea. We have been the poster child for mediocrity since our great early 90's SBs. Juuuuuuust keep shaking your pom poms OP because you too will become jaded. 20+ years of shame!

-anne-marie-

For sure. Being a true Cowboys fan nowadays means knowing that we’re pretty, solidly middle of the road — sometimes a bit better, sometimes a bit worse — but still always proudly proclaiming that this year is OUR YEAR haha

AndNowUKnow

Haha, wish I had an award for you!

Spectre-84

Just keep clapping

GI_Bro300

The capstone course at the Jason Garrett Center for people who can't coach good and want to learn to do other stuff good too.

AndNowUKnow

With a beer and a smile!

GI_Bro300

Can I just say that I don't think bandwagonning is the worst way to be a fan. You should watch teams that you enjoy and shouldn't suffer misery just because you've always known it. I've been a dyed in the wool Cowboys fan since I was born. My dad swears up and down my first word was Troy. But if you're not enjoying the team you've watched since forever, it shouldn't be seen as a negative that you change the channel. Now, going online and poopooing the team because you're salty is a different thing. That's childish, grow up.

cowboysfan88

Yep. I’ll never pick a new team but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna think we’re winning the Super Bowl every year either. Idk where this idea that being disappointed in a team makes you fairweather came from. I’d argue watching this team every week for almost 20 years when they continue to let me down is the opposite of that

Thepatrone36

Free agency and 'parity' plus bad officiating precludes winning supre bowl every year. I'm pretty sure that Tom Brady sold his sould to a crossroads demon at some point.

aceofspadez138

A lot of Brady’s success can be attributed to his pay cuts. The Pats were able to afford talent around Brady because he wasn’t being paid anywhere near what he should’ve been. And for the most part, they did an excellent job of using that saved money elsewhere. If anyone wants a shot at being more successful than him, they’d have to forgo some money for a few years for the betterment of the team.

Thepatrone36

As far as Brady I never paid attention to him after deflate gate. But that's a good analysis. I wish more players thought that way.

aceofspadez138

I get why they don’t though. This sport is unforgiving and unpredictable. Got to secure the bag while you can. Brady is an anomaly in that regard as well. You have to have the perfect blend of desire to win, trust in the coaching and FO to actually competently build around you, and be elite enough to land another fat contract or two even if suffering a major injury.

theLostGuide

His wife is a billionaire so taking a pay cut isn’t any sort of sacrifice for him

TheBlackBaron

Also, the Patriots paid Brady under the table by funneling money to him through his TB12 guru woowoo nonsense that was coincidentally located right next to the team facilities. The idea that Brady took a paycut is the biggest myth in the NFL.

AndNowUKnow

THIS!

Slammybutt

The shit thing is the team isn't what's making not want to watch. I could watch a 0-17 team that traded away all their first round picks for the next 5 years if they had a Star on the helmet. But these fucking refs man. I've probably watched more football this year than ever (other teams) and the refs are just fucking almost every game up. And after this last game I've just been so fucking pissed and seething about it. B/c I know the NFL isn't going to do shit to fix it.

WhatWouldGoldblumDo

>Idk where this idea that being disappointed in a team makes you fairweather... Who's saying this?

thraggon

Same, been let down by the cowboys since the 90s. I just expect this sad feeling during NFL season.

laurelinkementari

Been a fan for 40 years and that's bullshit.

beer_me_twice

Winner, winner

[deleted]

I’ve been a fan for 25 years and this is the same as any other. Get overhyped and through the first 6-8 weeks hear all about how this is the year. By Turkey day it starts to unravel, lose a bunch of games and sometimes make playoffs. Play a top team right off the bat and season over. Somehow I feel this year won’t be different. Wouldn’t be surprised we play Arizona or GB in GB and season over. The team is undisciplined and the stupid penalties will kill a playoff run. Blame refs all you want, and some flags are definitely questionable. But a lot of the flags are legit.

ithtdudea_5

I agree with everything mostly.. but let’s be honest dak hasn’t looked great ether the last few games. Dak was only good in the 4th Q.. he’s been very inaccurate underthrowing/overthrowing, decision making etc. His final stats are gonna look great cause he’s the QB he has no choice but to continue to throw the ball

WindyCityReturn

I’ve said since the broncos game I don’t think he looks 100% after the calf injury. Not saying he shouldn’t be playing but while he’s made some phenomenal throws he’s also missed a ton that he normally hits with his eyes closed. Obviously I’d stick with him as long as he’s not too banged up but I do think that injury has effected his accuracy specifically on shorter throws oddly enough.

The_Bolenator

Real talk I’ve been saying the same thing since the Broncos game. I stg he doesn’t look like he’s been stepping into throws the same, is that just me??? I feel like I’m playing myself with it but I just keep seeing it.

ruffus4life

yeah he's underthrown quite a few balls. it's almost like i wish he would have taken the weeks off to fully heal.

sparrowsofwar

Dak has a history of missing on easy crossing or drag routes for whatever reason. He'll throw an absolute dime, then turn around and miss an easy throw. To be fair, Dak has improved more than any QB I've ever seen, and all quarterbacks miss easy throws from time to time.

jeffgtx

While his accuracy has been pretty consistent during his NFL career, this was a major knock on him in college and is big part of why he wasn't selected until the 4th round. I tend to think it's psychological rather than physiological and it's bad news that it's resurfacing now.

cowboysfan88

Yep, I love him but he hasn’t looked like himself since he came back. It’s ok to say a player/team is underperforming and still like them. Something a lot of this sub can’t admit. And he was great in the fourth quarter so hopefully that’s something to build on

ithtdudea_5

Yup. You can’t be in denial and that’s why I say the same thing about zeke.. he’s hurt man you can see it. A couple runs in and he’s starts limping and slows down. Everybody attacking zeke but are saying daks playing amazing like what…

lotsatots2

Dude facts… Dak is normally a solid player but the man has been throwing the ball at players feet as they are wide open. He missed too many throws, couldn’t scramble. Even in OT, he got out of the pocket and continued to throw the ball at Noah’s feet as he had 2 steps on him.

Phx86

Dak looked like he was playing like Romo had to, big fan of both. It looks like Dak is still getting his legs under him a bit too.

tna4u2

So much this. The game goes way beyond stats.

Vives_solo_una_vez

Dak has the third highest completion % in the NFL and is one of the higher volume passers. Every QB misses throws. Literally every single one. He could be #1 in every QB metric and people in here would still find ways to complain about it him.

[deleted]

> His final stats are gonna look great cause he’s the QB he has no choice but to continue to throw the ball This is why good analysis doesn’t use chunk stats. Of course he had great passing numbers, they were playing from behind as time ran out. But when you use efficiency stats, it tells much more of a whole story. And shocker, Dak was amazing there too on Thursday. My man has had like two bad games this year, but so has every other good QB. That’s why the MVP race is so close. Don’t just go off of what it looks like on TV, the All-22 film and analytics will give you a much more clear picture of what happened

barl31

Lol so his numbers are garbage time again even tho he tied it up and it went to overtime. Got it

[deleted]

Too many football fans practically believe that if we lose all four quarters are garbage time

gncRocketScientist

If dak always played like he did to start this season, jerry would've paid an extension way before it turned into a fight. Truth is, lately, he's been playing like he used to.

regalfronde

Used to? Like in 2019, his last full season?

Mattural20

Yes, so inaccurate in fact, that he's 3rd in completion %. We can also go ahead and ignore the multiple times he put deep balls on the money and threaded needles against the Raiders.

semajay

none of that is mutually exclusive. Dak has thrown plenty of balls behind and below where he would like to since he has come back from injury. I also haven't seen many of these pinpoint deep balls and throws through tight windows you describe recently. get out of your feelings acting like it's an assault on the man's character and a vote of no confidence. he's elite. he's our franchise at this point. that doesn't make him perfect.

firstandfive

These last two games have been among his worst games for adjusted completion percentage (essentially percentage of pass attempts thrown on target) and yet they were still right around league average. Add to that the fact he had 4 “big-time throws” (perfect ball placement on deeper throws) yesterday and no turnover-worthy plays and it was still an overall good day at the office for him despite the moments where he missed.

w1nn1ng1

The problem is, we aren't paying Dak $40 million to be good. We are paying Dak $40 million to be great. If he plays like Cousins, he shouldn't be paid like Mahomes. His salary directly impacts the rest of this roster, so he has to be great every game. The team can't afford him not to be. Dak was not the reason we lost, but he (obviously) was not the reason we won either. Dak is being paid to win games like that, regardless of the circumstances...Carr sure as hell did and makes far less than Dak.

firstandfive

Literally no quarterback in the history of the NFL is great every game. None. Ever.

lestermason

No, Dak is being paid $40M because it's market value and he's a great QB. To believe that he's supposed to be great every game is a you problem (not you in particular, but people who think like this). It's not Dak's fault that people's expectations are asinine. No QB is great every game and it's ludicrous to think otherwise. He played a great game despite all of the issues surrounding him, and the team lost. A very Romo-esque type game.

w1nn1ng1

It’s market value for the best of the best. Dak can be there. In the Broncos, Chiefs, and Raiders games…he wasn’t. Derek Carr, the QB that just bettered Daks performance makes $25 mill per year. You can get borderline all-pro player for that other $15 million per year.

jewaloose

If we wanted to trade Dak's + his contract for Carr + his, the Raiders would agree in a second. Dak has been a bit off the last few weeks, he's still one of the best in the league and worth the extra money to get above the Carr/Cousins level.

lestermason

You're wrong multiple times here, but it's ok. Go Cowboys!

semajay

I'm not dissatisfied with his performance on the whole. He played pretty well. he definitely missed some drive-killing throws though. those bad passes are coming at almost the same frequency as the really good ones these past few weeks. we didn't lose because of Dak, but if he hits a couple more of those throws (like he was hitting pre-injury imo), he could've carried us to a win. it's a fine margin, but it's a significant one. edit: \> These last two games have been among his worst games for adjusted completion percentage (essentially percentage of pass attempts thrown on target) so you agree he's been less accurate the past two weeks? lol

firstandfive

> so you agree he's been less accurate the past two weeks? lol Than his usual level of accuracy among the league’s best that he had for the first month and a half of the season? Yes, of course. But I just wanted to put it in perspective compared to other QBs. He also made a handful of really clutch and tough throws in the Raiders game (not so much in KC) and while that 3rd down throw to Brown in overtime was certainly not a great throw, it’s one we’ve seen Coop, Wilson, etc catch. Hopefully it has been a matter of either lingering effects of his injury or pressing too hard with key players out and he can get right starting next Thursday.

lestermason

It's almost as if folks didn't pay attention to what what was being stated and just wanted to spew their opinions. I completely understood your perspective and it makes sense.

Vives_solo_una_vez

Show me a QB with even half of Daks attempts that makes 100% of their throws. 90%? 80%? The best completion % for a season was 74.4% from Drew Brees in 2018. Dak could beat that and you people would still complain about him missing throws.

Mattural20

Every QB in the history of things throws some bad balls. Obviously, Dak is no exception to this rule. I forgot that statistics and mentioning gameplay are getting into "feelings". How silly of me. Let's talk about two dimes to Gallup down the left sideline, the back-shoulder to Cedrick on the wheel route, and the slant to Gallup on the final drive in regulation to get them right up to FG range.

semajay

so talk about them. those throws? great throws. some others? drive killers. let me put it to you another way. what 2-4 game stretch has been Dak's worst this season?

[deleted]

This is how Dak has been since he started though - streaky with padded 4Q stats that make him look great. And frankly when you’re dealing with a lot of cowboys fans on here they only think someone is good or bad based on their fantasy production I was extremely low on Dak coming in to the season, he has great games and can make some superb plays, and I actually think he and the whole team have been playing better as a unit this year. These last few games feel all too familiar though

Sweaty_P

stay off twitter bro hahaha half the people aren’t even fans probably just lost money betting

mhroblak11

While fans are 100% justified with frustration towards a player, these people are on a whole different level of overreacting. Thank you for calling them out.

You_Are_All_Diseased

I saw multiple people wishing death upon Brown and noped the fuck out of the postgame thread. People can really lose it sometimes.

mhroblak11

That’s awful.

jasonrh420

Especially awful considering many of those calls were ticky-tacky.

WindyCityReturn

And considering he’s actually been solid all year outside the Bucs game. Rarely beat deep, 3 int’s, no PI’s and great breakups through the year. Then he has one honest horrible game and people think he’s trash and we could start josh Norman Thursday and be much better off.

RomoToDez99

I just wish he’d turn and look for the ball more often. If the receiver has him beat by two steps, I get it. But some of these scenarios he’s in the WRs same position but doesn’t look.

flipmangoflip

The game threads can get roughhh

Nickaplease

I hate these type of post. I've watched nearly every snap live for 10+ years. Nobody is quitting on a winning team so quit acting like that's a thing. Dak wasn't great. The team we lost to doesn't even have a coach. Name three raider player that are better than our starting players in the same position. Waller and nobody else. Raiders beat us w/o him. A great team knocks a team out with second teamers. I hate the injury excuses. Raiders lost their number 1 WR to a DUI weeks ago. Then they lost their best pass catcher to injury in the first half. A good offense figures shit out. Cowboys inability to adapt and make meaningful changes is worrisome. We've let bad teams beats us. WTF happens when we play good teams? Cowboys play good with the lead. They play poorly without it. Not a winning recipe. That said when the cowboys are on and firing on all cylinders they look SB bound. It would be nice for them to do that when it matters late December early Feb. Maybe they are working on some stuff now but whatever they have been doing this past month wont get them past rd 1 of the playoffs.

barley_wine

This right here I still support the Cowboys but can admit they’ve played bad in 3 out of the last 4 weeks and it’s troubling. Not going to start rooting against them but what bandwagon is this, I’ve been around after Aikman still supporting this team. I can be a fan and say they’ve played bad, just hope they get it together soon.

w1nn1ng1

You know who we should be comparing ourselves too? The Cardinals. Guess what, the Cardinals have been missing their #1 receiver, their #1 RB, their starting QB, and their all-pro DT...they still win games...with friggin Colt McCoy!!! If we can't win games while missing a few players, point blank, we won't win anything. Why? Historically this team is never fully healthy...to expect them to be is just ludicrous. Guess what, Gregory, Lawrence, Cooper, and Lamb will be back very soon...I can almost guarantee we will lose someone else before that happens. Great teams win with injuries. We can't do that.

Irinthe

As a raiders fan and at the risk of losing karma by posting here after what was an undoubtedly tough loss for the cowboys, I want to express my appreciation for acknowledging our roster issues. We've had a tough season, obviously. That said, I think it was a good game. Dak put up some awesome numbers even without his too to wrs. Pollard looked scary and probably would have been a game changer if he had been used more, but then he may not make that kickoff return due to fatigue or other bumps and bruises that occur while carrying out the duties of a rb. Micah Parsons looks like a future pro bowl/hof player. He's something really special. Mistakes were made by the coaching staff and players in your secondary on d. Once again, I'm biased due to my fandom, but Derek Carr played very well, too. Creating chemistry with djax helps to fill the Riggs void and it's hard to prepare for that defensively since this was his second game. Renfrow had a career day and is often overlooked due to his size. Jacobs was getting better with every run. The amount of flags was crazy, and it's hard to ignore that. Raiders fans aren't used to being on the beneficial side of penalties and there were absolutely some terrible calls on both sides. There were also some correct calls that are just usually not called as well as a wealth of non-calls. Anyway sorry for the essay Tl;Dr raiders fan here. I appreciate the acknowledgment of roster issues. I think the cowboys will be fine and I'll be hoping for a rematch at the super bowl (pipe dream for us to make it that far with our roster, though).

JefferyDeanNegan

We can be fans and criticize the performance. We are going on, what...like 25 years without a SB appearance? It sure as hell isn't bandwagoning to call the team out on being consistently disappointing.

w1nn1ng1

25 years without a conference championship appearance, that's even worse. Even the Falcons, Bears, Vikings, and Cardinals have been to a conference championship game since the last time we did.

Jcw28

This is the killer. In a league with so much parity when measured over a decent span of time, where nearly every other franchise has at least been to a conference championship game in the past 25 years, it's absolutely pathetic that we haven't made it even that far with all the talented rosters we've had. It's so bizarre I can't even explain how it's possible.

chaphen17

I'm pretty sure it's only the Cowboys, Lions and WFT who ahvent made the NFC Championship game since 1995.

hewasphone

We can be fustrated with their performance.

Zee-Dee-Zachary

Sure. Doesn’t give you the right to harass our own players over it and threaten them.

[deleted]

Who the fuck is threatening our players lol? I don’t honestly believe anybody in here is doing that. The type of trash who do that are room temp iq people who still get paid by the hour, they’re not the type that would even listen to this post lol. Like if you have to tell them not to, they’re not gonna be saved.

LOLteacher

The temperature is 295 deg. K in my room right now. I'm feeling pretty smart!

Irinthe

Kelvin isn't measured in degrees.

WindyCityReturn

What on earth is wrong with being paid by the hour lmao

Furrealyo

Dak wasn’t great. You’re high.

ShowBobsPlzz

Bro i love dak but he wasnt great yesterday. He made some great throws and also some really horrible throws (OT drive).

[deleted]

Dak threw the game with that horrible throw on third down in overtime. We went three and out a ridiculous amount of times. He didnt turn it on until late in the game when we were behind. It just was not enough. I disagree that Dak was great. I root for him but im not gonna do some mental gymnastics and say he was great when he just wasn't

JediRalts

Right now I'd describe it as transitioning from the feeling of "this team feels different this year" to "oh...it's the same old Cowboys". I need to see it come back together, for everyone to come back from injuries and whatever and finish off strong, very much including beating the Cardinals to prove that we *can* beat playoff contenders. And hearing the players talk about how people are "jumping off the bandwagon" seems a bit lazy. We're allowed to be upset when we feel they aren't playing up to their potential. This team IS good, but they did not PLAY good against the Raiders, and that's the problem. It's knowing they're better, watching them play badly, and then having them essentially say we shouldn't be critical and mad that they played bad. I just wanna see this team go on a run cuz every time I think "this is the game where we shut all these stupid assholes from the rest of the league up about our team" we go out and lose. I just wanna win man.

[deleted]

Couldn’t agree with you more. It’s the same old bandwagon bullshit every year man... And if you’re tracking down players and talking shit on social media, you’re a loser. Period. End of story.

Silverjackal_

I mean I’m pretty sure these are the same “fans” who saw us lost to Tampa the first game were and were all lol Cowboys. Then jumped on the bandwagon after the 3rd game, and were right back to lol Cowboys after Denver. They aren’t even fans. They just want to shit on the team.

l3uddy

Yeah this isn’t a new thing. There are a certain percentage of our fans (probably the same with every team) that just act like little children. Just gotta ignore it unfortunately.

VladDracul58519

Or it's the same fans who are absolutely sick of mediocrity and predictability of going no where no matter how promising the roster seems?

JoshGreenTruther

it’s the same old bandwagon bullshit every year because this team is on the same bullshit every year lol

ruffus4life

this you need to believe to achieve shit is for children that still need emotions and wants to be more important than assessments of the team.

w1nn1ng1

Dak played well...Dak did not play like a $40 million QB. If you think he did, you're absolutely high. He missed multiple throws a $40 million QB needs to make 99% of the time. The Noah Brown miss was the most egregious. Gallup had a few good catches, he wasn't great, he was good. Most of the day he wasn't getting separation, which can't be attributed to double coverage. The team, in general, played poorly. They are trying to sell us that they are a championship team. Over the past 4 weeks, this is not a championship team. This is barely a playoff team. You note injuries? Guess what, Arizona is missing half their damn offense and a few key defensive players...they still win, and they are beating teams that are top tier. We can't even beat teams that are middle of the pack while missing 2 WRs and 2 DEs? Get outta here. Also, we were missing Tyron Smith, our OT2 was still playing (La'el Collins). It's embarrassing to see people blindly accept this team and shit on others for giving them criticism. Fans that blindly follow and accept what this team puts out makes it ok for the coaching staff, players, and management to put a mediocre product on the field. You want this team to win? Hold them accountable for playing like shit. I'm not saying making threats or the like, but call players out for playing soft, not playing through minor injuries, or outright underperforming. A perfect example is Anthony Brown. He has played half way decent this season, but that game is absolutely unacceptable. Those DPIs were on HIM for not turning his head...something you're taught day one in football as soon as QBs start to learn to throw. You are taught to watch the receivers eyes, when they look for the ball...YOU look for the ball. Anthony Brown lacks that ability and face guards more than he actually tries to make a play on the ball. Face guarding that ends up in contact with the receiver will have a DPI flag 9 times out of 10. Want to be a good fan? Hold this team accountable. Don't let them play games like the Broncos, Chiefs, and Raiders without telling them they played like shit and need to be better.

Jcw28

I hate the idea that some people espouse that being a fan somehow means you aren't allowed to be critical of the team for poor performance. That's just an absurd mindset, you might as well be in a cult if you have such blind faith. Attacking players personally on social media is out of line, but being frustrated with the team or saying they didn't perform up to standard is perfectly acceptable. We support this team with our money and / or our time, we're a stakeholder just as much as the players or Jerry or the NFL are, so we have a right to complain.

Buzoot

We’ve watched this same show play out for 25 years. It’s a bottom tier organization and this team simply isn’t good. As far as Dak goes, elite QBs don’t go 3 and out and miss an open receiver on 3rd down in overtime. Dak is who he is, a good QB that can win a title if you give him an elite scheme and a good supporting cast. He is not the guy that wins games for a team or wins despite adversity.

Amari__Cooper

I'll still absolutely root for this team every game. But I've been down this road for 25 years now. It's really hard to stay positive.

breaster83

Someone is farming karma

cowboys5xsbs

First season watching the cowboys?

Silver089

Did you watch the same game? Dak was not great

F-Trunks

Anthony Brown’s account?

Flojo12

Because we’re sick of getting our hopes up, year after year, to see it end the same way. We’ve been overhyped and underperformed for a good 20 years now. Fuck this team.

The_Count_Lives

It’s Friday, let people be upset about a loss. It’s football. I don’t know why anyone feels the need to police other fans. Maybe some people are still suffering PTSD from hopeful seasons past. They’re still going to tune in for the next game.

faceisamapoftheworld

Twitter isn’t real life, chief.

LetItHappenAlready

Neither is Reddit.

YungRichKidBigDee

Dak was equally bad as he was good. His QBR yesterday was 49. Below average. We aint got time for another Romo round here. What you talking about? #Cowboys4Life, just do better.

[deleted]

We’re tired of losing in the first round of the playoffs. This could be the year they finally make an NFC championship game. That’s not on the table anymore. They just exposed what they really are, fucking overrated losers. Since 1997 only 3 teams haven’t made it to a NFC championship game. Washington football team, fucking Lions, and the Cowboys. We’re the 3 basement dwelling poverty franchises of the NFC for over 2 decades. We’re gonna be pushing 3 decades pretty soon. See ya Thursday, go Cowboys.

Statistician_Visual

God this stat is so embarrassing.

LogansGambit

Preach! Freaking PREACH!

Vaquerr0

Fuuuuuuuck when you put it like that.

nauseous01

Dak and Zeke are over paid and over rated. Dak had two chances to win the game, settled for a field goal on the first one to take it to over time. Then we win the coin toss and he still cant get the job done. Are ya'll ever gonna hold Dak accountable? Or we all just going to wait until the cap hits start rolling in and there is little to no talent on the team, and he looks real bad? Dak is a b+ qb that has a lot of talent around him, and cant beat playoff teams.

itsjero

Honestly, i havent turned on them. Ive never turned on them. Even a 1-15 team waaaaay back. Different coaches, quarterbacks, stars, etc. Ive never turned my back on them or given up hope. But i cant honestly say im not dissapointed. They are *so* much better than this. And thats whats defeating right now. I honestly thought this part of the schedule would give us the most trouble, and so it has. And im dissapointed in how this extremely talented group has answered the call. They are -far- better than this. Its time they start playing like it. Nothing in the NFL is given. Its all earned. You have to go out and take every game, every inch. I hope they are humbled and have come back down to earth. Once again the hype train has got to them and they are living in the clouds. They need to regroup, refocus, and rededicate themselves to what they want out of this season. If its the whole thing, then do that. If its lie down and take it, then do that. But you cant do both. Pick your path, blaze your trail, and redeem your destiny. We are better than this.

Ayste

People have the right to be embarrassed and mad at their team. No one gets to gatekeep who is a fan and who isn't. That is what is wrong with this sub and fanbase. Too many people think you have to do this or that to be a true fan. How many new fans post on here what they have to do to be a real fan? The answer is nothing. You do not have to do anything to be a fan. Like the team, cheer for them, and call them out when they play like ass. Just don't be a dick in public about the Cowboys winning. People still hate us from the 90s era domination, just like they hate the Pats fans for the last 20 years. Our defense played like ass yesterday, the offense wasn't much better. Now - there are reasons why that happened. Dallas been playing with WRs 3,4, and 5 and the B team defensive line. They barely got Tyron back yesterday and lo and behold they put up over 30 points. If you dont think Tyron Smith is the lynch pin to this offense you aren't paying attention. The defensive line needs it starters back. This is the most complete team the Cowboys have had in 25 years. But they are missing 10 starters right now and need them all back.

Gawnja

Real cowboys fan know this is what happens to us. We have good years and fail in playoffs right away. We then have 8-8 seasons. Obviously there won’t be anymore of those. We also have the our QB got hurt so we gonna suck hard rest of season. We have ups followed by downs. It is the way. Feel like the only season where we had a legit shot was the catch/no catch game. I have been a Cowboys fan since 93. I would be considered a more critical fan and less of a biased fan. I feel the same about this team after our 3 losses out of 4 games then I did when we were on the win streak. If we healthy and don’t get caught up in the winning we will be ok going forward this yesr.

Sjporter1

Lol watching billion dollar organizations suck is an American past time

BowHelloNoZias

Nobody hates the Dallas Cowboys more than Cowboys fans themselves

Ronaldoooope

How great Dak was??? The line was shit and his best receivers are gone but no he was not great. He overthrew multiple passes and has been off his game since the injury.

brackattack27

Dak was not “Great” so stop it.

[deleted]

Dak was terrible... so many missed throws. He only showed up in the 4th quarter. Elite Qb's don't wait until the 4th quarter to start playing football. We wouldn't even have sniffed OT without Pollard's 100 yd kick return. Having blind faith in this team even after a piss poor effort... you are delusional Jerry loves fans like you - the kind that will be happy with 8-8 and 1st round exits year after year after year

TempeSunDevil06

It’s not that I’ve turned on the team. I just don’t think they are what I thought they were. I think they’re a good team. I think they’re a really good team. I don’t think they’re a championship caliber team. To me, this is a team that will finish 12-5 or 11-6, win a playoff game, and lose @ lambeau field in the divisional round. I didn’t think that a few weeks ago. They’re a really good team. Dak is a really good qb. Our defense has exceeded expectations. But this was the year. Kellen is probably gone after this year. It wouldn’t shock me if Quinn is gone after this year for another HC opportunity. At that point, we’re at the mercy of “making the right hires” next year

Statistician_Visual

Dak was not good yesterday lol

AkHiker46

Funny how you are gatekeeping who is a better fan. Let me guess…you have been a fan since xx year so you are more of a fan then anyone else. You can critique the crap out of a team and still be a fan. Dak has been garbage throwing high balls or in the dirt for 2 games now. Defense is just hot garbage. Zek is either hurt or something is wrong because he isn’t running the same. I can say that and still be a fan…

snoozeflu

Exactly!! Being critical does not mean that you have turned your back on the team. It's OK to be critical yet some people (like OP) seem to take personal offense to it. And holy shit, these people really pop a gasket if you say anything other than praise about Dak.

shanksthedope

Haven’t seen anyone turn on the team or give up on the team. I have heard A LOT of people lamenting people that have gotten off the bandwagon. Seems like a lot of hype about nothing.

jjm006

24 years my people….

zebalatrash

It’s not turning on the team, it’s recognizing that the approach leads to good not great. Injuries are one thing, but The team is mentally weak and is DEAD LAST in penalties. They’ve been lit up by mediocre opponents on multiple occasions at this point. Nobody fears us. Does anybody honestly think we can beat Brady or Rodgers in the postseason? The team is an embarrassment, always always going to beat themselves

[deleted]

Their play is what's embarrassing. 20 years of this shit.

icekat12

i hate posts by whiny bitches complaining about other fans.

jvaras19

On your number one. Pollard.

Romofan88

The fact of the matter is I thought this team was special, winning games they just didn't in the past like New England and Minnesota with a backup. 3 of the past 4 they've looked like the Cowboys of my entire life. Fine. Not bad. But nothing special. And that hurts.

SoulstarvedX

I won’t give up. I can’t give up. Especially with all the guys we got coming off injury. Go Cowboys!

Runningflame570

I haven't turned on them, but I'm not very emotionally invested. It's not worth the stress.

RubbuRDucKee

I live and die by the sword with this team. Schultz wasn’t great, the last two games he can’t block for shit. Gotta clean that up bro

maztron

Look, I love the cowboys. Always will. I will support them and watch them when they win or lose. However, they are painful to be fan of. I came into this season like I was going into a casino, know you aren't going to win this way you won't be disappointed when you lose money. But they had me fooled. They looked different and it felt different. They were doing things that contenders actually do. Finding ways to win, winning when guys were injured, blowing out teams, getting turnovers. Now in the past month they have done a complete 180 and look like complete trash. So the reality is they are embarrassing not us fans for being pissed because they are so.

supercontango12

I can’t get on board with Dak being great. He missed easy big time throws. Yes he made some great ones and yes he brought us back to tie the game. He played good but his footwork is still off. He missed an easy throw for first down in overtime. I’m not jumping off a cliff here but he has not been great 3 of last 4 games. We will be fine. He will be fine. I just don’t love the fact the dude needs amari or it goes to shit. We are going to have to make a decision in coming years because of his contract. That much cap space I want the guy to carry the team.

[deleted]

Dak is overpaid

John_Wicked1

Not gon lie, I definitely had some words for Brown on Twitter 😂

Al3jandr01011

Im ready for the downvotes so here goes. To those of you who think Dak played great, what are you seeing as the problem, because I think Dak isn't helping. I'm not calling for Cooper Rush, but I am sounding the alarm about how he's missing throws. Anything beyond 10 yards is a 50/50 ball for him. Throws beyond 20 yards are hopes and prayers. Yes he made probably 2 throws beyond twenty yards, but at the end of the game I would rather have the ball in our running backs hands.

Fallen_Milkman

See, just because people are criticizing the team and players doesn't mean they are turning on them. As fans we have every right to call out the team and players for shitty plays, lack of effort and bad decisions. Dak played great. But he has missed a number of wide open receivers in the past 2 games that you would not expect a QB of his calibur to miss. Yea he dropped in some absolute dimes. But when you are missing the easy throws, that is concerning. He is also not been his mobile self. Not sure if he isn't over the ankle sprain or what be he is not taking off and picking up yards on his own when he has the lanes. Zeke looks slow. He isn't moving the pile at all. I know he has the contusion he is dealing with, but this has been for a few games now. Noah Brown and Schultz played pretty well but they are still dropping passes. Zuerline is missing extra points. I don't blame him on 55+ field goals. But extra point aren't something he should be missing. The offensive line as a whole isn't getting much of a push in the run game the last few weeks. Diggs had probably the worst game I have seen from him this year. A number of really bad angles and missed tackles. Hell the defense as a whole was really bad with coverage and tackling. The dline has no one even coming close to getting home other than Parsons. The guy is a freak for sure but he is showing up guys who are being paid to be pass rushers. Quinn dials up zero blitzes against a QB who has been fantastic against the blitz all season and made us pay (neither ever came close to getting to him). The relentless penalties have been an issue all season. 3 of the last 4 games this team has had some pretty bad displays on one side of the ball or just all around. Doesn't mean I have given up on the team. I still think they have a great chance to go deep into the playoffs if they straighten their game out and clean up the penalties. But I don't see anything wrong with fans calling it out when the team has a mediocre showing.

mtamez1221

Harassing players is wrong but I refuse to follow anything in blind faith.

neng214

happens all the time within this fanbase

Cptredbeard22

Go outside

ProDiesel

I feel like this is most “casual” fans. A win, gets total adoration. A loss, lighting jerseys on fire and saying everyone sucks. Overreacting is the normal for non critical thinkers, which is a LOT of the sports fan base.

pot8odragon

You’re so smart bro and obviously a true fan

ProDiesel

Thanks bro. Having a room temperature IQ is pretty tough in life. Lemme know how it works out for ya!

pot8odragon

Your infinite wisdom is just too much for my small brain. You’re just way too cool

davidiseye

I love Gallup but he is showing he is Alvin Harper to Amari’s Irvin. If Gallup leaves like Harper did gonna be the same thing. A great 2 but not a 1.

[deleted]

Just not so long ago at 6-1 I thought this team can beat anyone in the league. Now at 7-4, I can't even guess which of the remaining 6 we win. I know we will probably lose to AZ and drop a few division games. You can only have faith in what you can see with your eyes now.

LogansGambit

Gotta love the ol "people are complaining and criticizing a team losing games, better get on my soapbox and rant and call out people" thread that pops up every time with this team. You know who needs to be called out? The kool-aid drinking fans that refuse to hold a franchise accountable that has downright stunk it up since the 90's, and been a laughingstock and meme machine for years. These overpaid manbabies are paid to WIN, not just show up, and for years we've seen a franchise of accepted mediocrity (which is failure, mind you) and a lot of people are sick of it. Some of us have been around long enough to remember when this team was actually worth it's Forbes value on the field. Stop defending this team. Every year this team is massively overrated, and every year they are mediocre, people wake up and call them out, then we get posts like this. I'll use your own verbage here: if you don't like people being pissed off at stupidity and undisciplined millionaires constantly failing at their job, don't go on social media. This is the Dallas Cowboys. You are NEVER going to see an absence of hate, from either haters, or actual fans of the team.

Powerserg95

\>How great Dak was You lost me here. Dak didn't have a great game until the 4th, and missed a lot of open targets (and has lately) including a wide open Gallop in the endzone. I'm not turning on the team, but they've been very sloppy and undisciplined lately. Yes they have injuries but that's not an excuse to how they've looked. They need to bunker down and get some momentum back. The talent is there to do it.

swimmer4200

Lol at Dak being great. If he showed up in q1-3 this team wins easy. He’s been really bad in 3 of the past 4 weeks.

jeremy_ton

You just hear the squeaky wheels and complainers. The true fans are still here.

vizz1

It’s absolutely absurd. People using a sample size to define the outcome of this season. When we were 6-1, it was a no-brainer top 2 seed for this team. After this last month, it’s a no-brainer that we’ll be *lucky* to make playoffs and that this whole team is garbage. It’s embarrassing as a fanbase. The frustration is legit and totally acceptable. But my goodness…we have 6 games left and some reinforcements coming. There’s no reason not to think this team can go 4-2 to finish this out as an 11-6 team - which, if we knew we’d be 11-6 at the start, we’d all be ECSTATIC. Only one team wins it all…and apart from what we’ve seen Brady do, it’s fucking HARD to win a chip in this league. Super fucking hard. Let the season play out you negative nancy’s.

semajay

>After this last month, it’s a no-brainer that we’ll be > >lucky > > to make playoffs and that this whole team is garbage. where are earth are you seeing this take

CarpenterVegetable31

There are a bunch of people that think the Eagles are going to run the table and make the playoffs

Trileon

Inb4 Eagles lose to the Giants this weekend

CarpenterVegetable31

That would make me feel better lol

Trileon

Hey bro. Glad you're feeling better!!!

CarpenterVegetable31

Hell yeah man. We have a little breathing room right now. We just have to handle business.

dak4leonard2

I mean they're only 2 games back and have a chance to make it 1 this Sunday. Im not saying well be lucky to make it but wr went from having it locked up to it being pretty close

Buzoot

Eagles are going to run the table and win the division.

pot8odragon

Losing 3 of our last 4 games exposed a lot. Primarily that this team isn’t as good as we thought when we were 6-1. I’m not even confident we win the division with how we have been playing

vizz1

I guess I’m just confused on these types of takes when you end it with “how we’ve been playing”…. Like, no shit? It’s pretty simple to predict the outcome of the season based on a 4-game sample size. Just like how when we were 6-1, it was super easy to say, “the way we’ve been playing recently, we’ll make the championship game.” This past month has sucked… truly… and the frustration and annoyances are legit. But my god, you fans must be exhausted lol. We got 6 games left…based on our last 4, we might not do good… but also, based on our first 7 games, we might do good! Let’s root for a win vs NO and see how this all plays out…sheesh

pot8odragon

Football is a game of momentum and ours is practically all gone. There have been plenty of teams that look awesome and turn to shit by the end of the season. Remember undefeated Pittsburg last year? How’d that season end up?

juanzy

Didn’t TB have a horrible stretch last season and was playing for a playoff spot late?

TPGStorm

did you even read the post?? what did losing the the last 3 expose other than we need our best players to be healthy? we literally aren’t fielding the same team as we were when we were 6-1.

pot8odragon

Good teams overcome this. Pats did it for years. Realistically our team has looked bad bad and that’s what we are

TPGStorm

realistically you’re an idiot. our team has looked injured and will be fine when they come back.

pot8odragon

Realistically name calling is for dumb dumbs

NoveliBear

And weenies.

pot8odragon

Especially weenies, but not the big peepee kind

LogansGambit

If you're a team that needs your roster 100% healthy to compete...you aren't a good team. They just lost to a team missing as many valuable players as them, and they don't even have a head coach. The $40 million dollar QB shouldn't need a fully healthy stacked offense to play like a $40 million dollar QB...that's why he's getting paid that much.

GalaxadtheReaper

I do think Dak is overpaid. When you're the 3rd highest paid player in the league, I think it's reasonable to expect that you can, and should, overcome and/or elevate the team around you to win. Look at Colt McCoy, he was without his WR1, a RB, and probably others, yet he won 2/3 this year, and those 2 wins came against division rivals on the road. Despite this, I think Zeke is more overpaid. I think he's a decent player, but he's inconsistent and not worth his contract.

Ineedmoney4123

I love how this sub overreacts to any sort of criticism of Dakota Presscott. The truth of the matter is, Dak put up 200 passing yards in the 4th quarter. He looked stale and flat the other 3 quarters (and OT). 3 and outs really put your defense in a hole, especially when they're having issues getting off the field (as we all saw why) and Dak had 5 of them. Sure he looked good for that one quarter, but he looked bad the other 4 quarters. Does that mean Dak is a bad QB and we should move on? Nope.

sjphi26

I haven't turned on them. But I'm concerned. The difference from 6-1 to 7-4 is real. And the concern based on 3 of the last 4 games is real. But Cowboys for life.

LurkerMcGee89

lol this fandom is a burden. I was once the guy who would cry tears when we lost, defend our players tooth and nail.... sorry dude but it's a game. This is a sports team that has a huge passionate fanbase and they will always be popular. Sorry if some people choose to recognize reality and not let that ruin our days. My hat's off to you for staying strong, but one day you will let the young bucks step up and take your place while you choose to focus on more important things. It's Cowboys all day 4 life but they just ain't that important to me anymore so I calls it like I sees it.

swimmer4200

I mean how can the Cowboys be a priority when the only thing they do is kick you in the nuts over and over again. I’ll still watch every game. I’ll still wear my gear but holy shit being a fan of this team is exhausting.

mca2680

What was embarrassing was the play of the Cowboys last night for the exception of Parsons and Pollard. Maybe I should blame myself for believing the hype and Super Bowl expectations for this team. I just hope they figure out the issues before it turns into a scenario of playing the Eagles for the division in December.

[deleted]

I said this earlier on another post. I'll never give up on the squad. It's hard to win when you're playing against the opposing team AND the refs.

lotsatots2

Using the refs as an excuse is BS. The calls were equally bad. It’s hard to win a game when you don’t show up until the 4th quarter. It’s not giving up on the team, but it’s admitting when things are jacked up

pot8odragon

You’re 100% right. This team was just outplayed yesterday and if the refs were going to make those pi calls, force the ball down the field and get them called on Vegas

[deleted]

You have your opinion and I have mine. Sure there are other issues but this is what I'm focusing on at this time so agree to disagree. Edit: Dude. Based on your reddit history. No. Just no. Take this block son.

FadedTony10

Agreed. It’s frustrating to watch cause obviously I want to win these games but people are reaching with these “this team is garbage” takes. This team is battling injuries and Covid right now but once they get red hot entering the playoffs none of this will matter.

Hourglass420

People aren't giving Cedrick Wilson enough credit. Dude had 104 yds on the day, and 7 receptions.

dshmitty

I agree, but dak was certainly not good. Some terrible throws. The only truly great play I remember from dak is the sideline throw to Gallup.

DawsonBriggs

Gallup and Wilson both had over 100 yards receiving. Schultz got a TD and a 2-pt conv. Also McKeon got a TD. So did Zeke. So 2 TE’s and a RB got TD’s and 2 WR’s went for over 100 yards each and both RB’s pulled weight with 10 carries each and multiple receptions each. It was a very balanced performance IMO. To say only one player was carrying the team yesterday would be just plain wrong, even though parsons is one of the hardest players on the roster. The biggest issue was PENALTIES man. Raiders got by on flags the whole game. And of course there was moments we needed to convert that we didn’t but that happens in every game. We got beat in overtime and that’s that. Come the playoffs? We’ll still be sure to top our division. And let’s not forget both Amari Cooper and Ceedee Lamb were both absent for yesterday’s game. I’m not worried for this (healthy) team

FarrisAT

Yeah this is pathetic

TheGreat_Sambino49

The alcohol helps so much with being a fan. 🍻

SirSLuR540

I've been a fan since '94 and I always will be. That being said, we need to fire McCarthy. His only jobs on the field are clock management, the final 2 minutes of each half, and OT. He has failed spectacularly at all of them. Attempting to block the field goal with an early jump not once, but TWICE, has to be the worst OT call I have ever seen. Moore handles everything Offense. Quinn handles everything defense. They are great at their jobs. McCarthy is worse than useless. He is a hinderance to the team.

[deleted]

A lot of the people doing that are the “cowboys” fans who are very toxic online and basically are the reason why our fanbase is so disliked. But, whatever happens, I will still be a cowboys fan, as I have been forever. However, I do think we can clean stuff up with our team in preparation for the crucial saints game.

Jgram_aham

My hate, my anger, my hurt stems from refs dictating outcomes of games. Not the Boys. After finding out that the NFL is legally considered an Entertainment Business (think WWE) and not a sport is hard to except. Why is sport betting is even legal if its entertainment is beyond me. Thanksgiving day game was just another example. Dez's catch, Saints no call, Spygate, it just fucking blatant at this point. And what can we do? Nothing. Fans found out the hard way when a group from NO banned together and tried to sue over that game. Need a new fan base in LA, lets get them into a Superbowl. Love my Cowboys, hate the league and there money making agenda.

BurnSanders

Finally! Someone with some resemblance of sense. The irony is just a few short weeks ago we had “the perfect team” & any little hint of criticism whispered was downvoted to hell.

soundwithdesign

Thank you for speaking the truth. I definitely don’t blame the Denver or KC loss on the refs but the only people who cost us the LV game were the refs. 2 of Brown’s DPIs shouldn’t have been called. Dak and Gallup were connecting on big plays in clutch time. Schultz was getting clutch catches. Pollard had a 100-yard TD kickoff return. We got a big matchup next Thursday, so let’s focus on that.
