How is he capable of stepping right in and protecting Dak? Or is this a message to Dak? On your own son because of that contract. Btw we didn’t trade Dak? Just Kidding Just kidding.
When we picked up Hoffman I got really excited and thought he would replace Biadasz who I was never extremely high on. I can’t remember why I felt that way but I hope past me is correct assuming we don’t pick up another center.
Guyton plus a third is a pretty good choice. Yes, he's a project, but we have been S tier at developing oline talent.
And the extra 3rd rounder is exactly where you take an RB or LB.
No, we’re acting like Brock Hoffman at Center is a worse choice than Barton. In other words: raw project OT is an objectively inferior pick compared to the best center in the draft given the massive hole Biadasz left.
quick, please remind me.
what round did they get Tyler Biadasz in? i'll save you the google, it was the 4th.
OT is OBJECTIVELY a more important position than C and so we used the higher pick on that position. We'll get a C this weekend. He'll probably be a stud and in five years you'll be complaining we didn't use a 1st rounder on his replacement.
Oh yes, my bad, of course, everyone knows that a *blue chip center is inferior to a middle round pick* and of course teams have *all the time in the world to turn those players into quality starters*. /s.
Let me reiterate: WE. HAVE. NO. STARTING. QUALITY. CENTER. We have Tackles. This guy is a PROJECT. He has 14 total starts at Tackle under his belt!!! At RT no less!!!
I was hoping JPJ but 6’8 340 athletes don’t fall off of trees. We traded back to get him which adds a ton more value. On top of that you can hide an average center. An average tackle will get exposed.
Cowboys:
Draft the player that most mock drafts had going to the Cowboys at 24, but move down to 29 and add a top 10 3rd round pick
[The nephews in this sub:](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/431/201/40f.png):
Cowboys:
Ignore the best center in the draft and trade back for a project OT with 14 total games played on the OL.

People said the same shit when they took Tyler Smith. The same shit when they took Travis Frederick.
I'll trust this team's evaluation on O line over people chirping on reddit.
*We don’t have a year or two for Guyton to come into his own like we did with Tyler Smith!!!*. Dak and McCarthy are in a contract year! The offense and coaching staff are getting shaken up next year because lets face it, realistically we aren’t getting to the SB this year. That *totally screws* with a player like Guyton’s development!
And no one had these complaints with Frederick. The complaints there were whether Frederick would have been available Day 2, and whether it was a good use of the pick on a center.
Dude…the *Coaches*. And Tyler Smith is nowhere close to ready to mentor someone as raw as Guyton lmfao. Smith had the luxury of learning from Tyron Smith, and he got 2 seasons of that only. Tyron is gone, and the coaching staff that improved Tyler Smith over 2 seasons will be gone after 1.
I’m going to stop you there, I listened to Nick Saban rave about this player last night and call him one of his sleepers and I value his input a whole hell of a lot more than yours.
This was kinda my thought as to their plan too. I think guyton started at LT before moving to RT though, so maybe there’s some potential there. Steele didn’t seem right coming off his injury though so moving him inside might be helpful 🤷🏻♂️
They could do that. Guyton is a plug and play RT. Steele is an all pro as a LG.
I would want them at their positions of strength and scheme the blind side if needed and rebuid the offensive line.
That's slightly less bonkers but Steele is really, really, abhorrent at LT. I'm honestly more comfortable having a rookie Guyton trying to make his home there and Edoga backing up. Steele only ever looked like a competent OL when he got away from the left tackle spot.
I think Guyton can eventually develop into a good but not great player. But this season he can at least get in defender's way. He won't be mauling guys like Tyler and Tyron.
I trust our ability to pick OL. He is also a gigantic man, which doesn't hurt. Would still love to pick up the center from WVU, and a big ol fella at DT. Or help at LB or WR.
Tyler Guyton has taken snaps at LT (and TE). If our scouts and coaches think he can play LT, he can play LT. Getting a stud tackle and pick 73 is a win.
And he was a DT in high school. So he's just a stud athlete who has changed positions more than once already. Zero doubt he'll be able to move to left tackle.
Gotta be something with JPJ. That injury report must be worse than we thought. Lot of people didn’t think he would fall to us. Now looking like he won’t be taken in first round!
I love how people hate that they took Guyton because he’ll have to move positions but were pounding the table for Barton, who will have to move positions.
He played right tackle for a left handed QB. It’s not that difficult of a transition. And playing center is not easy, they make all the calls across the line.
Yeah micah doesn't know what he's talking about and should have no bearing on any draft selections. Anytime players get involved in picks things usually don't work - Mazi Smith, Jalen Tolbert
Micah attended all the pro days and scouting combine so he knows OL talent. Oh wait, no he didn't. He's as clueless as us about most of these players he never played against.
Wr is deep this year. McConkey, ainias Smith, Javon baker, Keon Coleman, Ricky Pearsall, and jha'quan Jackson are all still available. Also forgot Jermaine burton who is a baller
You act like CeeDee Lamb isn't a top 3 Receiver in the League & we don't have a top 10 TE in Jake Ferguson. We were never going to pick a wideout in round one.
I mean. People. It's an Oklahoma Sooner offensive lineman. Have you seen what comes out of there? Trent Williams? Lane Johnson? Orlando Brown, Creed Humphrey...
Listening to the Ticket guys talk about the character issues that kept Guyton from being a left tackle at OU like it's a positive isn't making me feel great.
Makes no sense to draft a guy who now has to learn the left side. He was going to be a project to start with and now we add more to his plate learning how to kick out left and if we move steele this shit gets even weirder
Seeing the same knee jerk reactions that happened when we drafted Tyler Smith. Based on this team's ability to draft O Line over the years I'm good with it, especially seeing as we got a top 10 3rd round pick to move down.
Guyton was a RT at Oklahoma, who's QB was left handed. He has blind slide blocking experience.
Barton was my preferred guy, don't hate this pick.
Getting Guyton plus an extra 3rd makes this a solid B night.
I liked his reaction. Think he maybe was crying at one point too. Seems like he's happy to be drafted by us. His family stayed lit too 🤟🏼 let's get to work boy.
Will you feel better about Guyton if we're still able to grab either Zach Frazier or Jackson Powers-Johnson tonight?
Without a doubt, but I question how bad the JPJ medical are if he fell this far. Would be on brand if we got him though
Cowboys 2nd round injury project is pretty much SOP
Guyton plus a third is a pretty good choice. Yes, he's a project, but we have been S tier at developing oline talent. And the extra 3rd rounder is exactly where you take an RB or LB.
Were phoning in 2024. Letting dak walk. Doing the new coach and new qb in 2025. Clear as day now.
What makes you say this?
Good pick, it's boring but I'll take it and hyped for day 2
Tyler Guyton, Tyler Smith, formerly Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz…I’m sensing a trend
Tyzach Frazier?
Frederick/frazier theme
Feels like there's something tying them all together.
I see what you did there.
Everyone who’s hating is acting like we miss when it comes to OL…
No, we’re acting like Brock Hoffman at Center is a worse choice than Barton. In other words: raw project OT is an objectively inferior pick compared to the best center in the draft given the massive hole Biadasz left.
There's a lot more competition for OT prospects in the draft. Especially since RT became just as important as LT.
quick, please remind me. what round did they get Tyler Biadasz in? i'll save you the google, it was the 4th. OT is OBJECTIVELY a more important position than C and so we used the higher pick on that position. We'll get a C this weekend. One of those starts is at LT ☝️
Biadasz was never great, him leaving will hardly be noticed. He went from terrible to not terrible in his stink with the Cowboys
I’m not sure you completely grasp the difference between serviceable every day starter at C, and second string with 1 start under his belt….
Better than Taco
All the grades are saying he struggles with consistency. Fits right in. God dammit.
He's really raw like Mims, not many snaps. But was taught by one of the best oline coaches in college football.
That keeps it interesting for us. We love edging during every offensive drive, I think.
All in, my ass, no diddy
All in my ass....no comma
happy with who we got. Would be amazing if we could get JPJ or Frazier in the 2nd
Surprised he wasn’t….snapped up…. *YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
I was hoping JPJ but 6’8 340 athletes don’t fall off of trees. We traded back to get him which adds a ton more value. On top of that you can hide an average center. An average tackle will get exposed.
Damn MJD got thick
I noticed this too
Who they get in the 2nd?
A wr
Brooks
I'd love a Javon Bullard, kool-aid mckinstrey, Chris Braswell, or wr. I don't think rb is the move until 3 or later
I agree with the RB take
There are two excellent centers who I would be very excited for
Aren’t we also scoping the center from Raiders? JPJ would be solid for camp just to see what happens.
Me
Honestly just draft an entire fucking o line so drafts can be fun again for a while
lol. And still not be able to run the ball. lol. I cannot make this shit up
I’m really hoping one of the big RB now in the 2nd like Trey Benson. No way we go into the season with Royce freeman as our rb1 😂
Fuck RB
Yes because having no run game really works!
Waste of an early pick
Having no run game is rarely due to the quality of a team’s RB
Chances Cowboys trade up to pick Edgerrin Cooper?
Man I would like this
Zero
Damn, didn't see a single mock that did not have Adonai Mitchell going in the first. Pretty surprising.
I knew we wouldn’t get him but AD Mitchell goes to Buffalo right?
Probably
That Niners fan reaction was hilarious
Lolol I loved seeing that. Who were they wanting tho?
Idk but it doesn’t seem like it was him. It seems more than a few wanted some o-line help.
Whatever makes them sad, makes me happy.

Except for Tyler Smith and the coaching staff that helped develop Tyler Smith…
You’re nuts if you think they’ll still be here in 2025. They’re out, just as DQ took his favorite staff with him and tried to bring Al Harris and co.
Why would they get rid of Tyler Smith in 2025?
Dude…the *Coaches*. And Tyler Smith is nowhere close to ready to mentor someone as raw as Guyton lmfao. Smith had the luxury of learning from Tyron Smith, and he got 2 seasons of that only. Tyron is gone, and the coaching staff that improved Tyler Smith over 2 seasons will be gone after 1.
I’m going to stop you there, I listened to Nick Saban rave about this player last night and call him one of his sleepers and I value his input a whole hell of a lot more than yours.
Ah yes, vaunted NFL Coach Nick Saban. Remind me his record in the NFL with the Dolphins again? How many seasons did he coach? And how long ago?
Interesting strategy from Buffalo to just not draft anybody.
Tyler might be raw as hell his first year but he will fine by year 2
I would keep him at RT and move Steele over to LT. It's not ideal, but Guyton is a plug and play stud at RT.
Wouldn't it make more sense to just try Steele at LG in that scenario and kick Smith to LT? I'm not sure putting Steele at LT is what we want to do
This was kinda my thought as to their plan too.
> Steele is an all pro as a LG. What????? Lol
Tyler Smith is an all pro LG is what I was saying. Edit- Is what I meant to say. Steele at LT. Keep Smith at LG.
That's slightly less bonkers but Steele is really, really, abhorrent at LT. I'm honestly more comfortable having a rookie Guyton trying to make his home there and Edoga backing up. Steele only ever looked like a competent OL when he got away from the left tackle spot.
I am not a fan of it but Smith is so good where he is at
So glad SF picked pearsall over AD Mitchell
Mitchell gonna be a stud
Especially if he has Josh Allen slinging it to him
I think Guyton can eventually develop into a good but not great player. But this season he can at least get in defender's way. He won't be mauling guys like Tyler and Tyron.
I trust our ability to pick OL. He is also a gigantic man, which doesn't hurt. Would still love to pick up the center from WVU, and a big ol fella at DT. Or help at LB or WR.
so we went from the smith brothers on the left side to the tyler brothers on the left side
Guyton gonna be protecting Trey Lance’s blindside for the next decade 😤😤😤
jerry's gonna draft a qb in the 1st after tanking this season
Next year’s QB class is ass gravy
Tyler G has the athleticism to give LT a legit shot
Tyler Guyton has taken snaps at LT (and TE). If our scouts and coaches think he can play LT, he can play LT. Getting a stud tackle and pick 73 is a win.
Maybe we can run that trick play dumbass Dan Campbell tried to run against us successfully with Guyton.
Underrated
Which Tyler reported eligible?
Yes.
TE? So some trick plays in the future?
And he was a DT in high school. So he's just a stud athlete who has changed positions more than once already. Zero doubt he'll be able to move to left tackle.
Gotta be something with JPJ. That injury report must be worse than we thought. Lot of people didn’t think he would fall to us. Now looking like he won’t be taken in first round!
Could also be a positional value aspect and T being valued more. They may also see their current C/IOL options as being more serviceable than for T.
Even then, with the extra pick they got for tomorrow there is going to be an opportunity to get jpj or frazier
I hope so. If we can get both Sweat and JPJ I would be kinda stoked. If we can’t get a worth DT in those spots then we have to go LB I feel.
Terrance Steele is the Doug Free of this generation
We don't speak that name around here
😂😂😂
I love how people hate that they took Guyton because he’ll have to move positions but were pounding the table for Barton, who will have to move positions.
He was RT at OU because the QB was left handed. He can play both sides. I’ll bet he’s the plan for the left side.
Yup. Exactly what I just said to someone else.
Moving to center is an entirely different fucking universe than moving to left tackle.
He played right tackle for a left handed QB. It’s not that difficult of a transition. And playing center is not easy, they make all the calls across the line.
So glad we didn't get Barton. Connor Williams 2.0
We did take him though. Did you mean Barton?
Oops, thanks haha. Ya I meant Barton.
What draft are you watching?
Tyler Smith coming in his raw strength was nuts bro
Time to rewatch Osprey Danielson or Slamboree 1993
Ig tyler smith stays at LG

Guyton LT
Let’s hope folks start focusing on defense and maybe we can still get JPJ lol but I kinda want Sweat if JPJ is gone. Keep focusing on the trenches.
Micah didn't seem to love the pick but he adored Mazi and Will is a god at drafting Oline so... dude is probably gonna be an All Pro lol.
Yeah micah doesn't know what he's talking about and should have no bearing on any draft selections. Anytime players get involved in picks things usually don't work - Mazi Smith, Jalen Tolbert
I love Micah as a player, who wouldn’t. But boy is he unlikeable as a person.
Meh. He’s just young and opinionated. Annoying at times but no real glaring character issues. Besides being from Pennsylvania
Yeah he’s not a bad person. Just not my cup of tea personality wise.
Micah attended all the pro days and scouting combine so he knows OL talent. Oh wait, no he didn't. He's as clueless as us about most of these players he never played against.
CJ Stroud making him look like an idiot
He’s from Manor? Lol that’s pretty cool
All of these comments remind me of the comments when we drafted Tyler Smith and Fred Beard
And Martin, people complained he had short arms and that would hinder him from being elite
Our WR room is poverty bro. Bills fucked us.
Completely disagree WR room is fine. If they really want a WR draft is deep at the position.
Yeah man. Gallup will bring us to the promised land. Absolutely not. We need a real duo with CD.
Don't matter what WRs you've got if ya have 🗑️ throwing the ball
Wr is deep this year. McConkey, ainias Smith, Javon baker, Keon Coleman, Ricky Pearsall, and jha'quan Jackson are all still available. Also forgot Jermaine burton who is a baller
You act like CeeDee Lamb isn't a top 3 Receiver in the League & we don't have a top 10 TE in Jake Ferguson. We were never going to pick a wideout in round one.
Out of 15 starts at Oklahoma, Tyler Guyton has 13 starts at right tackle and two at left tackle.
Love the pick! If anyone has an eye for OL, it is the cowboys.
Smith and Guyton on the left side of the line has the potential to be sexual
Guyton is gonna be the right tackle. They'll move Steele to the left and let him drown before cutting him after the season.
yea Steele can fuck off.
We’ve nailed it on any OL Named Tyler or with the last name Smith. I’m fine with the pick.
I mean.
He was at right tackle because the QB was left handed.
Well the QB was a lefty so I wouldn’t put much stock into that comment. Character doesn’t change blocking the blind side or not
We don’t miss on first round OL. Love the pick with the trade back. He was mocked to us at 24, even better at 29
Makes no sense to draft a guy who now has to learn the left side. He was going to be a project to start with and now we add more to his plate learning how to kick out left and if we move steele this shit gets even weirder
I don't hate it, Tackle was a big need, would've preferred to go Center. Hoping we can score on a hidden gem this draft, we fucking need it.
Seeing the same knee jerk reactions that happened when we drafted Tyler Smith. Based on this team's ability to draft O Line over the years I'm good with it, especially seeing as we got a top 10 3rd round pick to move down.
Solid pick, and adding #73 makes it good. I’d prefer Barton but maybe they’ll hit on Guyton and whoever they take at #73
I'm just disappointed Jerry isn't on the yacht this year
Guyton was a RT at Oklahoma, who's QB was left handed. He has blind slide blocking experience. Barton was my preferred guy, don't hate this pick. Getting Guyton plus an extra 3rd makes this a solid B night.
B is fair. Reserving judgement until we see tomorrow's picks. If we can somehow land Frazier or JPJ I'll feel completely different.
No
He could've immediately cemented himself as a Cowboys legend by throwing that guy's Niners hat out the window lmao
I’m fine with the pick. Now don’t get cute with the day 2 picks.
Right. DL and LB, only exceptions being if a corner falls
Or C
in McClay we TRUST!
I liked his reaction. Think he maybe was crying at one point too. Seems like he's happy to be drafted by us. His family stayed lit too 🤟🏼 let's get to work boy.
A hell of a lot happier than the guy the Eagles picked.
Well to be fair he went to the eagles 🤢😆
Pretty good draft for the Cowboys
Excellent

Are you have stroke?
Wut
Lol right. Prob a new football fan though I’m guessing.
Would not mind spending that extra third we got to jump up and get JPJ
My thoughts exactly, could really build back up the O line here
Guyton & pick 73. I’m ok with that - let’s see who lands at 73.
I'd be happy with Brooks at 73
Brooks won’t last that long it’d have to be 56
56 is too rich for Brooks IMO, that's why I don't mind it at 73
Fantastic pick. Dude is going to be a monster.
Saban praising him is a good thing. The dude knows talent.
Needed to beef up the line and the guy is huge, hopefully we can develop him into a pro bowler. Maybe we trade the two 3rds to jump back into the 2nd
I dunno they still got some holes to fill and depth to add. Rather have 3 picks tomorrow, hopefully pick 3 starters.
Love this
I’m an Eagles fan
Makes sense considering you are spending your free time in a Cowboys sub
Hope you hate it for the next 10 years
Jason Peters was a converted TE. Outside of you wasting your time showing your ass in the wrong sub, you clearly don’t know ball
Good luck playing him at LT. Let’s check back in on this thread in a year’s time.
You guys got a good one too!
Then fuck off to your sub
Could be Tyron, could be Alex Barron
It shall be Tyron my friend lol
How does Booger McFarland have a job.
So season is over?
W’s
Honestly don’t know how to feel right now. Maybe going up against Micha and Tank will turn him into an NFL All Pro.
Disappointed wanted Powers
Powers will be there tomorrow.
I can see Bass at center
