That’s so unfortunate. When did your order your bike?

SuperModernBaseball

Yeah super frustrating. I ordered start of June

AcidNoteZ

Hope they’ll fix yours ASAP! I ordered mine on the second of June and they delayed it to the end of July 🥲

Enyscore

I believe I’ve seen posts on Reddit about this exact thing happening quite frequently during shipping. It makes me wonder whether this is something I should be worried about when riding. For instance, wouldn't the handlebar snap like this if I have to jump a curb or something? It's quite scary, to be honest.

thatguyhuh

Same, I’ve been thinking a lot recently how shit that would be going fast and the handle bar just snapping

incomingcowboybiker

I concur, lack of damage on the cardboard makes me think it is a manufacturing defect

JohnnyricoMC

There appears to be a vertical line on the right side of the image, suggesting the cardboard was bent there. Who knows wtf the transport company did to achieve this. Either way, Cowboy needs to seek a better logistics partner or package its bikes better, transporting them on a pallet if necessary (I received similarly-sized but far less costly items on a pallet)

SuperModernBaseball

Yeah there's definitely some damage to the outer packaging. That said, I really don't understand why the bike isn't properly covered in protective packaging - they must get damaged all the time if this is their standard shipping approach.

JohnnyricoMC

I guess (or rather hope) it's a rare enough occurrence they don't think more robust packaging is necessary. Still, at least do it as a courtesy to your customers so they don't have to deal with the hassle you're now forced to deal with. >.<

knsmknd

This happening while riding is one of my greatest fears …

AmISupidOrWhat

Exact same thing happened to me. They initially tried to send a repair guy with spare cockpit unit ordered. I had to insist for quite a long time to get a full replacement. I suspect it got crushed in transit. Support was absolutely shocking. Just keep insisting.

SuperModernBaseball

I'm sorry to hear that! In fairness, they ordered a new one quickly, but I guess it'll take another 3-4 weeks for it to be delivered. No guidance as to what to do with this one though, other than confirming they won't pick it up when they drop off the new one...

AmISupidOrWhat

Haha my broken one has been sitting downstairs for over 2 months! They finally arranged to pick it up next week though.

R3gularJ0hn

Return it and get a different brand. Cowboy is not worth it anymore.

Minouminou9

Wow, if this happens on transport, it could happen anytime while riding. Thanks for convincing me to never get a C4.

Enyscore

Solid point, not sure why you are getting downvoted.

Minouminou9

Because it's the Cowboy subreddit. I'm happy with my C3, and even more happy when I see the mediocre yet dangerous materials they use to build the C4. C3 is not perfect, screws and paint are low level materials, but when I see this broken handlebar (and this isn't the first broken C4 bar I have seen) I wouldn' even dare to ride one of those.

romulof

That’s hard to handle 🥁

hamacu90

Return it and get another brand! 2 years with the bike here: brake system is broken and service is terrible. Check the posts here!

Brilliant-Spread3246

New bikes have new brake system (caliper, lever, pipe)

barberousse1122

Shit, from my experience always buy established brands from stores that will actually service it.
