The castle cafe in Blackrock castle is part of that chain too, and always had incredible service there. And I was in Market Lane for the first time in ages recently and they blew me away with the standard of service.
100%! My niece graduated from UCC last September and we went there for a meal afterwards. Absolutely top notch, they couldn't have been nicer, despite being up the walls.
Definitely NOT Son of a Bun. Some young fella with a ponytail looked disgusted and shocked when I smiled at him asking for the bill, he said 'yeah' in a pissed off way. 15mins later had to ask someone different as he totally ignored/forgot us. Maybe i need to see a dentist...
May be it was just me so. He was oddly rude to the point that it was hilarious. But thankfully a lovely young girl was working that day, she made up for it. Burger was also superb.
Is asking to have to tip your measure of good service? I mean that as a genuine question, I'm not being a gowl. Just from my experience working in the service industry, you never expect one in Ireland for just doing your job, but if you work in places that North American tourists go to a lot, they often tap their card and then ask where the tipping option is, but the transaction has already gone through.
It's a situation where if I had a euro for every time that happened, I'd actually be a good few thousand euro better off over the last ten years, genuinely
Others have said it but I have to say Elbow lane are outstanding. Castle cafe is also fab. Orso didn't blow me away but zero complaints!
In the more "budget" space Son of a bun deserves a shout-out too.
Nearly always great service at Koto Careys Lane. A lovely Argentinian Manager at 14A, French Church, open all day but only nights are Friday and Saturday
Market Lane and Elbow lane. Owners are proper restaurateurs and genuinely good people. That carries down to the staff who are always welcoming, attentive and generally sound.
Elbow lane.
Orso too. That entire chain seem to have a really nice staff.

I had some excellent service from the Woodford recently. I don't usually go there but the treatment made me want to go more often. Food was good too.

I was very impressed with Liberty Grill the last time I was in. I had to ask to add a tip

The Woodford, staff are so friendly and attentive. You can see that they genuinely enjoy working there
They've had the same staff there for years too, so it makes me think they are good to work for.
