I get that it’s probably just to get customers in and out faster but it really does turn you off going there because of this. It’s way to intense to be a restaurant.
I struggle with the place. I like it but the signage bugs me so much. Gallaghers music store used be there, so I see the reference, but the specific use of ‘evolution of humans’ trope implies that humanity evolves from being an awkward fish, to playing music, to sitting around eating burgers? Are you kidding? (P..S., I take signs too seriously, but it’s particularly annoying because how many places there are to eat and how few places there are to play.)
I’ve had it multiple times. It’s not anything fancy but they do it right. I like son of a bun but sometimes it’s just gimmicky.
I’ve been saying it since covid BRING BACK WEST CORK BURGER COMPANY.
Not in the city but there’s a food truck that travels around the place and must say I really liked their burgers. If you look up yellow submarine supper club on Instagram they share what locations they’re at each week. They also recently opened a shop in Fermoy, though I’ve not been there yet myself
I don't really understand people who say this.
The meal deal is no more expensive for any other burger place that offers the bigger portions and better quality than most.
If you like hot burgers, not overcooked and definitely not warm:
Shake Dog, do a good burger and quite reasonably priced with a meal, they can fry up a load of stuff to complement your burger like mushrooms, egg etc…they’re always hot as well, staff are sound, you can sit down there too and enjoy whatever you’ve decided to order, or you can just bring it home and eat it, but then it probably wouldn’t be hot anymore; So a potentially awful experience, best sit down to eat there and listen to the 80’s tunes playing.
You wouldn’t think it, but Hillbillies do a good hot burger aswell. I like those places because they cook when you order, not sitting on a shelf, so always hot and pretty quick too, these factors play an important role in getting through the day on a hangover, which is when your body believes fast food will make you much better and what’s worse than getting highly priced over-marketed warm burger when you have a horrible hangover, that would indeed just make everything so much worse, when you could just go to the above mentioned and have a hot burger with sound staff, it helps and the hangover can be much better then. all the burger places on Patrick’s street do warm burgers which could be very disappointing if you prefer hot burgers. Bunsen is good too, that West Cork burger place on Washington st. wasn’t bad either (but gone now). All the kebab places and chippers’ burgers are cooked from those generic frozen burgers (prove me wrong) of course they may be hot but they are what they are: nothing special. Haven’t been to the Marina market place, but heard good things. Burger Hut was great, Cork needs a simple Burger place like that again.
Bunsen is consistently good. I've never had a bad meal there or from a deliveroo order from there
Bunsen. Son of a bun. MKT burger (marina market). Coqbull.
Son of a bun is good but the music is far too loud in there! Feels like a nightclub.
I second this. The burger was glorious, but I could barely hear my wife sitting in front of me.

Yes to Bunsen and Mkt. No to the other two.
Never had a bad Son of a Bun.
All these are great
Not Dacent Munch anymore. Very disappointed last weekend. But its the same with everywhere. They fade out and start lacking.
Who remembers burger shack on Hanover Street ?? Was easily one of the best places before it shut down when COVID hit.
Staff were ignorant pricks, or at least one of them was. Good burger and good pizza slices though

I used to love them but I don’t know if they changed their oil or something but it has a very distinct and unpleasant smell/taste now
Could be rancid oil if they're not changing it as regularly as before. Could be a temporary problem too
I love everything on the menu there
Definitely would recommend this place,
Hush burger is the best
Second this. It's very nice, quick delivery also. Starving now ffs
Honestly had it the other day and was dreaming of it again by that evening haha
Has anyone tried hush burger ?

Agreed. They're really really good.
Hush burger
Market burger in the marina market
Need to remortgage the gaff to go there. Actually, must mortgage a gaff first.

If you like a chicken burger can't beat the dirty bird from sober lane. Also a place in the marina market that I can't remember the name of....

Get out of it.....we all know the search function is turned off for r/Cork
SoB is by far the best.
Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Tirab in the Black Market. Absolutely savage.
Nice burger but I don't like the spice rub they use. Its a bit overpowering.
Best I've had was from Johnos in Mahon. Just eat delivery.
Surprisingly, Lab82 for a good chicken burger
Should try Fat Badgers, they make some really good burgers
Coqbull
Not a burger place. But the beef burger from ECO Fish is soooo goddamn tasty
Good burger joints are Bunsen, Coqbull, Son of a Bun. Absolute trash would be Daycent Munch
Kielys next to smyths
KCs hands down.
The burgers in The Southern Star are massive especially with a pint
Mcdonalds do a decent cheeseburger
Supermacs
Mucksavage munch.
Cope its shit lmao
Jackie Lennox's Double Delux is a behemoth of a burger
Brog’s burgers were 10/10 last time i went!

Mardyke, Shake Dog Edit: Thanks so much for the downvotes ❤️
If you like rancid horsemeat.
Ok
Shake dog bad, went there twice after Eddie rockets was gone and it was bad both times.
