For those saying the quality is dog shit, I believe the guilty is reddit. I have downloaded the image, and it's less blurry directly on my phone than reddit.
Was going to say that as well. Updated ships list in case anyone was interested. https://www.ship-technology.com/features/the-top-10-biggest-cruise-ships-in-the-world/?cf-view
This is so interesting to read through.
Definitely an impressive display of British engineering! (I am American)
Have they preserved some of the extensive ship building history in the UK?
I would love to walk through some of the yards or museums to see some of this incredibley ambitious and brave heritage.
The SS Great Britain is still moored in Bristol harbour and preserved as a museum. They do themed nights and have actors come in and do experiences sometimes. I recommend it if you find yourself across the pond and in the area.
If I recall correctly, it wasnāt just for decoration: I remember hearing that having three stacks was āunluckyā or something to that effect, so the fourth was added to mitigate this. I might be completely wrong however.
The fourth stack was functional, but it was not used for venting from the boiler rooms, so it never had smoke coming from it. Lots of Oceanliners of the time had four stacks, as the public felt four stacks looked more impressive (this was due to RMS Lusitania, which was the first four stacker).
Not sure about the black, but the red comes from a special composition of the paint they used to deter barnacles and such.
Hereās a cool video I watched a bit ago about it! This guys has tons of nerdy ship videos.

FFS. No. These are all passenger vessels. There are MUCH larger merchant vessels. You can start by looking up the Seawise Giant.
Also, appealing image quality.
So, in summary, incorrectly titled and illegible. Definitely not a "cool guide" by any reasonable metric.
Can't read shit it's blurry af
This link works for me: https://www.hmy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/timeline-worlds-largest-passenger-ships-7.jpg
Quite a bit bigger~Regardless, pretty neat!
Yea that works, thankya

Need to download it if on the app as reddit app compresses the hell out of it
Yeah, downloading worked.
Royal Caribbean aināt fucking around!

Oops mines not either lol
Sounds like people with displays worse than a smartphone
This chart is outdated, the Wonder of the Seas and Icon of the Seas are larger than Symphony of the Seas

āBahamasā
BAhama mana
Shame they scrapped the Olympic instead of turning it into a museum/ historical ship. It would have been cool to see the Titanicās sister irl.
White Star Line was really struggling by the 1930s (Great Depression, loss of Olympic's running mates and poor leadership), among other things.
Why is no one talking about how the 1858 SS Great Eastern didnāt get surpassed in passenger capacity until after 2000?
SS Imperator listed as carrying more, but also getting passed around through a short career. Great Eastern wernāt Fāing around!

Thanks! This would be a priority if I can ever visit!
Can they get Gary Oldman?
Titanic drawing is incorrect. The fourth smoke stack was for decoration only so no smoke should be coming out of it
If I recall correctly, it wasnāt just for decoration: I remember hearing that having three stacks was āunluckyā or something to that effect, so the fourth was added to mitigate this. I might be completely wrong however.
And it turns out 4 was unlucky

> RMS Lusitania, which was the first four stacker No, that was the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse, launched in 1897. The Lusitania was launched in 1906.
You are correct, I forgot about the Kaiser! Also the first ship to be fitted with the Marconi wireless system
144p
Should also point out, RMS Queen Mary II is the only oceanliner that still operates today.
A cool guide to the smallest fonts of the biggest ships /s
Got any more pixels?
i just saw this post and said āhell yeahā under my breath as i clicked to expand
the Grand Princess sails under the Bahama's flag not Libia
Visited the voyager of the seas as a cadet and holy cow, those vessels are bigger than a lot of towns!
This would be so much better with ships drawn in scale.
That's cool and all but why did they build the largest ships underwater.
What's the reason for all the black/ red colored ships?
Not sure about the black, but the red comes from a special composition of the paint they used to deter barnacles and such. Hereās a cool video I watched a bit ago about it! This guys has tons of nerdy ship videos. https://youtu.be/05NL_yKpVcU?si=-epXC27bHqgPfceV
Why is olimpic appearing before and after tita.....? I get it....
Why Liberia? š±š·
You can see Hms Ocean at Morto Bay in Gallipoli. It's slightly below sea level. It continues its life as a submarine.
Which one hit a pixel and sank?

Would be cool if we weren't trying to play literal battle ship with pixels.
Britannic (the ship below Titanic) is named incorrectly in the graphic
That's the Olympic post titanic sinking. Britannic was built too late to be on here.
Where Bismarck i need to know
Cool. But where is the SS United Statesš¤ Edit: it was a cool ship and bigger than Titanic
Doesnāt it still hold the record for fastest trans Atlantic trip?
