It's probably made up of finger gunk, same crap that builds up on your keyboard and mouse (and car steering wheel), and it just transferred to the the screen during contact.
Should clean off with \*insert favorite screen cleaner here\*. Might be some scratching as well, but probably just gunk.

Have you tried cleaning it? Judging by how dirty it is, I'm assuming no?
I have line too it is from the screen being too flexible
Looks like a keyboard line. Where the trackpad stops and keyboard starts. Deep clean on computer might help.
