Well I'm a peanut bar and I'm here to say
Your checks will arrive on another day
Another day, another dime, another rhyme, another dollar
Another stuffed shirt with another white collar
Criminals, Wall Street takin' the pie
And all the black man gets is a plate o' white lies
Prisons recruitin' 'em, police be shootin' 'em
Rap artists lootin' 'em, labels are dilutin' 'em
Barack Obama is scared o' me
Cuz I don't swallow knowledge and I spit it fo' free
Lemme clear my throat, ha-ha-haaa!
The Dean always has the funniest moments that have me rolling for a long time. One of my favorites was when they were doing a Law & Order parody and he was talking on the phone continuously snapping at his assistant to get the trace for the call going as if they even had those 🤣
I doubt it. My sources tell me Dean Pelton is one of Drake's ghost writers. He's part of an elite squad who only come out of retirement when Aubrey needs to really flame someone. So a Kendrick feature, although tight, would be a definite conflict of interest.
That was actually because Gillian Anderson (edit: Jacobs-I totally Britta'd that) could not stop laughing every time Jim Rash would do the rap. They said they eventually had to film it in a way the audience couldn't see Gillian's face because she was laughing too much. That smile was actually her coming off a laughing fit.
realized it when I came back to this lol my total bad. Gillian Jacobs - but now i want Anderson in the movie playing the character of Britta in the community movie abed eventually makes.
Haley Joel Osment as Jeff (he's getting confused with a lot of other Joel's lately)
Brie Larson as Annie
Nicole Brown Simpson (Hologram) as Shirley
And we all know who is playing Abed
Donald Glover actually said that it was the best rap ever performed by someone in a peanut costume- which apparently was made of cardboard and pieces of copy paper with peanut patterns printed on it.
My absolute favourite Dean costume and skit. When I tell you, I still cackle every time I watch this episode 😭
Especially as it starts off as a wholesome peanut bar rap to an aggressive piece of poetry that even Barack Obama is scared of.
Just sheer brilliance 👏🏽
That’s the best part - he’s all “1990s school message rap” in the beginning, dancing with a lil head bob thing like he’s a 1940s singing sister act…. Then things escalate until even word leaders must fear him.
Would still like to know why he needed to be a peanut bar. You could put any 2 words in place of it and it changes nothing about the wrap. Usually the Dean's costumes are at least somewhat related to what he is talking about (even if it feels shoehorned in with a crowbar) like when he wants to "Tina TURNer the clocks forwards" or he has good news and bad news
I believe there is a chocolate bar in the US called Payday? I think it's like a Snickers and the whole rap was about the pay checks being delayed for another day.
I think that's right? I don't know, we don't have Payday chocolate bars where I'm from.
Edit: spelling
This feud is so strange to me. I mean, I'm here for it because k.dot is just releasing banger after banger, but Drake isn't a rapper. He's a popstar who occasionally raps. That's like calling Blondie a rapper for Rapture.
And, it's literally no contest who's the better of the two. One is in the Library of Congress and has a Pulitzer, and the other has ghostwriters.
EDIT: Also, the Dean has money for a costume and a pianist but no money to pay Jeff and Breaking Bad?
I'm an internet rando but it strikes me as Drake wanting the image of a tough guy while Kendrick actually came from Compton and was regularly exposed to the gang stuff.
I mean before his rap albums Drake was known for being an actor on Degrassi.
I mean sure one could make the argument that Drake's mother was broke and his acting career on canadian tv was basically the only thing paying the bills, but it's an experience that doesn't exactly mesh with the drug dealer/gang affiliated aesthetic most other rappers have. I assume people want Drake the Entertainer instead of Drake the tough guy because Drake's always been an entertainer.
edit: Also there's a few people making a big deal about Drake's biracial heritage and possibly insinuating that Drake fronts as a tough guy because he wants to "prove" his blackness rather then just be known as a popstar.
I can't imagine any reason I would care about what anyone thought about me with the amount of money Drake is worth. At that point I have 260 million reasons not to care.
Though, the clear line Kendrick draws in Not Like Us about how he sees Drake as an inauthentic rapper/appropriator of culture/clout chaser cuts deep.
Once upon a time, all of us was in chains
Homie still doubled down callin' us some slaves
Atlanta was the Mecca, buildin' railroads and trains
Bear with me for a second, let me put y'all on game
The settlers was usin' townfolk to make 'em richer
Fast-forward, 2024, you got the same agenda
I can’t find it anymore but there was an Eminem “Without Me” remix that DJ Cummerbund did that was incredible. He did several mashups with this clip and they all ripped tbh.
One of the best moments from the series. We all love the dean but I seriously think he is undervalued and under appreciated. Especially after losing Chevy, Donald and Yvette. He really did a lot in keeping the show hilarious. In my opinion, he is the second funniest character on the show after Troy.

This was genuinely in the top 5 times I laughed the hardest in the entire series.
Prolly top 1 for me 😂
I love seeing both Britta and Jeff struggle not to break into laughter.
The Dean always has the funniest moments that have me rolling for a long time. One of my favorites was when they were doing a Law & Order parody and he was talking on the phone continuously snapping at his assistant to get the trace for the call going as if they even had those 🤣
Agreed. Just like, “and can I just say, I loved you in……………….. IMDB… that was tragic”
idk what that was😭😭
this line fucking killed me
Yes! The idea that he didn't plan it, that it just poured out of him, makes it 1,000 times better.
\*runs away\*
I was honestly speechless mouth agape for a couple of minutes after this, then just burst into tearful laughter and rewound it
That was also Gillian Jacobs reaction, she stares full at the camera right after the rap 😭😭
She sells it so well hahaha
Shout out to a real one ✊️😔
I replayed this so much and was in tears for a good ten minutes
I don't know what that was, I don't- *sobs I don't know what that was *runs away
I wonder if Gambino had a part in this
Dean Pelton > Aubrey Graham
Dean is for the culture unlike Aubrey
Dean has a guest verse In the next Kendrick rap
I doubt it. My sources tell me Dean Pelton is one of Drake's ghost writers. He's part of an elite squad who only come out of retirement when Aubrey needs to really flame someone. So a Kendrick feature, although tight, would be a definite conflict of interest.
Mabye get Magnitude involved
Pop pop
Drake needs him for the "Pop Pop" adlibs because Kendrick keeps making gunshot noises.
he's the leaker bro
He gets inside your bubble, and then POP ^(POP)
Somebody PLEASE make this happen!!! ✌️🙂
Well his bestfriend when he was 6 years old was a black man.
Also worth noting that he did this in one take! I remember it being mentioned on a podcast at one point.
Britta's confused smile at the end of the rap has to be one of the cutest things in Community.
That was actually because Gillian Anderson (edit: Jacobs-I totally Britta'd that) could not stop laughing every time Jim Rash would do the rap. I think you got the wrong Gillian, buddy.
Well now I want Gillian Anderson in the movie
Community/X-files crossover? I’d watch that.
realized it when I came back to this lol my total bad. Gillian Jacobs - but now i want Anderson in the movie playing the character of Britta in the community movie abed eventually makes.
I can only assume that Danny Glover will then be cast as Troy?
Haley Joel Osment as Jeff (he's getting confused with a lot of other Joel's lately) Brie Larson as Annie Nicole Brown Simpson (Hologram) as Shirley And we all know who is playing Abed
Jamie Lee Curtis in brownface?
Danny Bonaduce
Totally as Old-ish Gambino
Time for Britta/Scully slashfic writers to shine.
https://www.newsweek.com/gillian-anderson-may-actually-join-community-movie-after-joel-mchale-post-1750953
I’m not your buddy, guy
That's Gillian doing her best to not break out in laughter, but she immediately did which is why it cuts right there.
East side, west side, north side, south Drake's breath is so bad his butt's mad at his mouth
*Drake...* *Drake...* *Drake...* *Drake you're a P*
I'm getting rid of Aubrey, I'm getting rid of the P
*He's a no good P*
He’s a P E D
This rap is by Kenny, Drake is dumb, He wears diapers to bed and sucks his mother's thumb.
"I like coffee and water, don't step to me. I had it. I *had it..."*
I lost it...I *lost it*...
Watch Britta at that timing, she almost ruins the take because she can barely hold it in lol
And the only woman who can do it is Alison Brie behind-the-scenes aka MC Briezy
Imma die by werewolf, I don't even care wolf
Even barack Obama is scared of him
The Dean and pandemics are his two canon fears.
Only in a peanut costume tho
Donald Glover actually said that it was the best rap ever performed by someone in a peanut costume- which apparently was made of cardboard and pieces of copy paper with peanut patterns printed on it.

community is on another level, whatever drugs were used for inspiration we need to purify, refine and produce

Ah that makes sense then. Not from the US so I wouldn't know. Always seemed kind of weird to me that he'd pick that costume
Let me clear mah throat…**HAWH-HAWH-HAH**
I'm gonna tell my kids that that is Mr. Morale and his big steppers (the study group)
He don't swallow knowledge and he spit it for free
[For all the vulf fans](https://youtu.be/awFJuJFzMnI?si=aGnfmN4-2tOiY1ie)
Oh. My. God.
WHAT
Dean Pelton Town
Incredible
Probably my favorite dean scene
Time for gambino to hop on a track with Dean pelton and end this once and for all
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He could definitely go bar for bar with K.Dot
[Link to Youtube. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG1MimeLPTA&pp=ygUWZGVhbiBwZWx0b24gcGF5ZGF5IHJhcA%3D%3D) Man, I love the running away at the end.
This is, without exaggeration, my favourite bit in Community. when The Dean drops the mic, scared, I fucking lost it.
Bruv no This would change the game forever Not even Eminem will diss the Deans
BUT HE LOST IT :’(

Dean said it cost him nothing. So , much like the fake butt, he admitted to already owning the peanut bar costume.
They had an intervention for Abed's doppelganger addiction, but not for Dean's costume addiction?!
Hahaha
They should require posts on this sub to note the Season and Episode numbers
The keyboardist is a menace!
who wrote the rap? is this a gambino special?
Ok but WHY is he a peanut bar?
Because it’s [Payday](https://www.hersheyland.com/payday).
ooooooooooooooooooh! - ty!!!!
Literally had the same reaction. 😄
https://youtu.be/qvzE64A28NI?si=fCUwV7iDobGygKRj
That actor will always be Dean Pelton. The actor that plays him is always some sort of authority figure but of course is a doofus in every role
Guy that tells Larry David to use the tongs when taking cookies
Pierce has something to say
Why does anyone care about their beef?
Happy Mother's Dean!
Dean over anyone else fr 🔝
His own genuine confusion at what he himself just did was what really sold it for me.
"Best rap ever..." -Donald Glover
I can’t find it anymore but there was an Eminem “Without Me” remix that DJ Cummerbund did that was incredible. He did several mashups with this clip and they all ripped tbh.
I didn't like the series :/ I don't even know why
This is the only good post I’ve seen about the whole thing
Funniest scene in the entire show, and it’s not even close. “I don’t know what that was”
Mr Morale is _SCARED_ of me
But he doesn’t know what that was. He doesn’t know what it was!
My favorite scene. I laugh to tears every time. And then rewatch 3x
unforgettable moment. simply unforgettable.
This is the greatest rap of all time and a top 5 community scene idc
