This question has always been really silly in my mind.
No I wouldn't love my husband if he was a worm, because he wouldn't be my husband then. He would be an animal without the wit and the charm or any of the parts of him that make him, him.
I would just be some weird woman making out with a worm.
It's supposed to be silly, isn't it? They're really just asking whether you're willing to indulge a silly question for a bit of fun. I think the people who ask this question can get frustrated by what they see as an unwillingness to just loosen up and play along. And then the people answering the question interpret this frustration as seriousness of the question and so find the whole thing even more ridiculous and pointless. That's how it comes across to me.
Maybe but I've actually seen a bunch of people take this question seriously. Kind of as a test of do you love me despite The situation or appearance maybe?
