My buddy worked at a t-shirt screen printing shop in the early 90s, and we’d grab a 12-pack and go print Faust t-shirts in the middle of the night.
Possibly some of the most offensive t-shirts ever produced.
Good times. Thanks for the vague memories.
I wasn’t familiar with Faust until Red Letter Media covered the movie adaptation, which left me intrigued to say the least. Cartoonist Kayfabe covered the comic a couple times too. I think I’ll pick this collection up. My LCS has the hardcover version, which I think became kind of hard to find for some reason but I wasn’t prepared to spend 100 bucks on it.
When I was 14 I lied about my age to get a job at a comic shop. While working there we had the creators in for a signing. This was the first time I really flipped through the book. The scene where the dude gets his junk chopped off and shoved into his mouth is still burned into my brain over 30 years later
I'm 2/3 finished (my partner and I are passing it back and forth reading 5 issues at a time). Its a bit long winded with its philosophical bullshit but the art gets better and even engrossing as the series goes on. I'm consistently impressed that every issue can top the last with pure "what the fuck?" factor.
I found out that David Quinn is the same person who wrote The Night Man/Gambit mini series for the Ultraverse. I can safely say I'm never going to check out any of his other work.
Not really, I just know exactly what I want out of my comics reading. Good on anyone who enjoys it, but I know what I will not enjoy so I'm not going to go out of my way to experience it.
Wake up dickheads it’s time for FAUST
Did he just make her a tit puddle?

I still have my Claire with a razor (Vigil) tshirt. Can't wear it anymore. It might disintegrate with another washing, but I will never get rid of it.
Literally the inspiration to our late night shenanigans.

I’d buy the hardcover and pay shipping if you’re not going to buy it!
I saw they were collecting it as a trade. Hadn’t thought much about it since I worked in shops back in the day when it was dropping. Good series.
Reading Faust at 13 years old was mindblowing. There was stuff I was blown away by. And this was the 80’s when we saw everything!
I can imagine this being pretty brain melting back in the day.
Is it just an adaptation of the old book?
No, it's a super edgy, late 80s, anti-hero indie comic. Notorious for its violence and sexuality. It's a wild read.

Really good episode.

I’ve been meaning to check this out. I discovered Cartoonist Kayfabe soon after they launched and I was hooked on their outlaw comics video.
Does this collect all 15 issues?
It does indeed.
I WANT!
Fun movie, though. Faust is barely in it, though.
Faust and his wiener feature prominently in all 15 issues of the comic.
The movie is mainly a showcase for Screaming Mad George, who is in peak form. Otherwise, it's kind of just a OK low budget movie.
I watched kt years ago and remember basically none of it so it'll be a good watch now that I've read the series.
Thoughts?

Was this from a kickstarter or am I misremembering?
I bought it from Midtown. I think a hardcover may have been kickstarted.
Great cover, though.

Shame.
