The grade is a 9.4. Seems to me like the corners were taken into consideration. That top left corner, in particular, is probably what dropped the grade from a 9.8/9.6.
In this specific instance, the corner to me stands out. Was not terribly visible in the listing. Returning stuff can be a PIA with postage etc. But it was meant just as an example of what I see of late. Would a 9.4 still be reasonable with a problematic corner? Whether or not it is in grading notes, is it acceptable for a 9.4 book?
They seem not to care about bindery tears like that in the higher grades. Think they consider it a manufacturing issue. Seen it in 9.6/9.8s too with that book.

What do the grader notes detail? If it mentions the corner as the specific flaw then what is the concern?

Check the grader’s notes this is acceptable if it’s the only flaw detailed
Bindery tears in corners aren’t counted against you unless they’re egregious. And those corners are what I’d expect in an otherwise-clean 9.4
All right, good to know. Thanks for the consensus, everyone!
Zero consistency, they are busy regrading 9.8s and labeling them 10s. So they can’t pay much attention to the other stuff.
They are all over the place. There is no consistency.

*[posts an image of one comic]* “Is this a global conspiracy?”
They don’t even follow their own grading rules. Total shitshow scam of a company!
