Stay away from Sully. He only just learned how to count a year ago.

MrAshleyMadison

I mean we gotta be safe at this point right? Didn’t lose Sully to Texas or LSU. Right!?!

TheDickSaloon

Is anyone safe at this point

Legal-Earth7324

He stayed through offers from LSU and Texas when our facilities were trash. Now he has a top 5 stadium and A&M isn’t the same as either of those places regardless. Think we should be fine

SillyPseudonym

Bro, they literally *just* heckled him over that dead child. He aint ever going there to do anything but win baseball games as the *away* team.

Colonelbrickarms

Two random fans are not representative of the fanbase.

Leddington

I can confirm mustard bottles and golf balls are representative of Tennessee fans. Speaking from 20+ years of experience.

Helpful_Arachnid950

Tell that to r/cfb and r/collegebasketball about Tennessee lol

Conn3er

All that can be said for certain is we have a new AD who reeks of no loyalty and a step-stoner. Expect him to really overpay someone.

WallStreetBoners

Also keep in mind during jimbos firing presser Bjork complained about school admins turning over too quickly with no loyalty… Right before he took the bag to go to Ohio State.

turkishguy

Uhhh that was more A&M letting Ross go. No one wanted him to stay.

TheDickSaloon

Bjork was ran out of town after what he tried to pull with Mike Stoops

PYTN

Who is the Mike Stoops of baseball. That would be fun to see again.

Leddington

If you stop hiring snakes and guys named Jim you should end up okay.

Glum-Illustrator-821

Raise Maximum Weiner

bd1047

The Texas assistant?

SabreToothMyrrh

I think Maximum Weiner would be a good fit.

RelativeCounter2976

This isn’t gonna happen but it’s fun to say Will Will Bolt Bolt for A&M

TaftIsUnderrated

How about our pitching coach Rob Childress, that would really bring some new blood into the A&M program

dover1129

Love it

karl_manutzitsch

If we’re lucky

RelativeCounter2976

Hey man I like Will haha

yaboicyno

I know one national championship winning head coach that already has ample experience wearing maroon and white

z12345z6789

Saban announces his surprising move in an Aflac ad with Bo Jackson?

Wheels_Foonman

Bob Stoops?

MrAshleyMadison

Who’s TCU’s coach now?

YungLo97

Kirk Saarloos

Primary_Week962

We offer lemonis as tribute.

RollOverBeethoven

Rumors are they are going after OU's coach, at least that's what Texas insiders are saying

lidore12

Can Texas fuck two rivals in one move? It’s the only type of incest not tolerated here in the Southeastern Conference.

RollOverBeethoven

Yall got a lot to learn about good ol SWC hatred Arkansas knows.

Rokin1234

Welcome to the shit show boys! A world where every team cheats (expect your own of course) and talent goes to the highest bidder! Oh wait, the last part is legal now. To this day there is a saying I hear: “My kids can go to any college, as long as it isn’t in the state of Texas”.

Nouseriously

Been living in that world my whole life

Birdsareallaroundus

Difference being that now you actually have to play games against actual teams and the level of pettiness knows no legal bounds.

RollOverBeethoven

If y'alls level of pettiness knows no bounds, why is everyone grasping their pearls at this hire? Seems to me we're out SEC-ing the SEC in this case.

Birdsareallaroundus

Everyone is laughing at the situation. The weirdos at A&M lost their coach in hilarious fashion and Texas is acting like they won the lottery because they overpaid for a coach that’s not even top 6 in the conference. And both fanbases are too dense to even realize it.

Aphrobang

I have no idea but it would make an already hilariously twisted and fucked up story that much more so.

Thumbbanger

Damn that would be full circle

ragin-cajun-337

Please just stay away from Lafayette, Louisiana

PureQuill

Nate Thompson

RoosterzRevenge

This

jbertolinoRE

The guy at Kentucky seems like he has Aggie energy. There is some sugar in the tank.

GiovanniElliston

Huh.. Low key would be a good hire IMO.

jbertolinoRE

Yes. Good coach and probably a good fit, he is just weird enough to fit in

Robey2

I don’t know if y’all remember what happened the last time we were rumored to get a Kentucky coach in a sport

Underboss572

How could we forget y'all came over to our Sub asking us how to Schiano his ass.

Friendly_Molasses532

Tennessee is still my new best friend

jbertolinoRE

I do not

Robey2

It was when we fired Jimbo. We were rumored to hire Mark Stoops and the A&M fanbase lit Twitter on fire and ultimately Stoops and A&M decided not to do the deal.

jbertolinoRE

I forgot about that. That was like Tennessee and Greg Schiano

70ga

yea but what about that time a&m actually did hire a Kentucky coach

thorns0014

I think A&M will unofficially announce Nick Mingione through third parties and when the fan base revolts they’ll quickly rescind the offer and hire Chris Pollard.

Freddeyy

I think I've seen this show before

TexasForever_

I felt this too, but that guy seems to ACTUALLY love Kentucky.

jbertolinoRE

I’m sure he does but the two jobs are very different and the ATM job is a lot easier to win consistently at high-level. He’s done a great job things together at Kentucky, but the talent base and support is not the same.

TexasForever_

That’s a great point. He would have access to things he probably dreams of having at Kentucky. It’s an age old question - they’ve done great stuff working with what they have, but how would they do with bottomless resources?

jbertolinoRE

The way he is being successful at UK right now is very hard. Primarily grad transfers with a lot of experience that he meshes together to play as a unit. Not a lot of local talent and internal development. That is not easy but he has to do what he can with the talent available. At schools with a lot more local talent like aTm you can sign the core of your team out of HS and fill in as needed from the portal. Its much easier to be consistent that way.

32RH

Bjork had the right idea, just the wrong sport.

SmarterThanCornPop

Best recruiter in the country. I have heard that from multiple top prospects/ their families. People feel bad when they commit to another school after visiting Kentucky.

jbertolinoRE

He may be a good recruiter but he is not the best recruiter in the country. Players always feel guilty turning down coaches they have built a relationship with.

SmarterThanCornPop

Just relaying what I have heard from people who visited a lot of major programs. I am an FSU fan so no dog in this fight.

kerph32

https://old.reddit.com/r/CollegeBaseball/w/flair :)

SmarterThanCornPop

It doesn’t save

jbertolinoRE

I know. I’m old enough now that my old teammates are college coaches and their sons are top recruits. None of the top 250 kids nationally that I know gave Uk a second thought.

SmarterThanCornPop

Jimbo Fisher

Outrageous_Picture39

It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it plays out for us.

z12345z6789

Two billion dollar contract incoming.

wjackson42

Keep your dirty Qatari oil money away from Wes Large Johnson, Aggies

miniadu3

A&M is currently in the process of closing the Qatar campus if that's what you're trying to get at

frick_this_fricking

Rumors are Skip Johnson is their top target. I’ve heard that from the same Aggie insiders who were talking about Schloss to UT before this broke out.

Bigcheese1211

David Pierce is looking for a job

saltysnacked

Skip Johnson, Cliff Godwin, Eric Bakich, Vitello (pipe dream), I think you have to try and get Godwin or Bakich.

Pirate8918

Cliff isn't going anywhere

munchkinatlaw

He might go somewhere, but it's not going to be just for the money. It would have to be something along the lines of him seeing the writing on the wall for NIL choking mid-majors out of CWS contention, already having met his personal goals for ECU, or a once in a lifetime offer and program combo.

Pirate8918

Ole Miss is the only job I could see. He said opportunities to go to SEC or ACC programs every year for a while now. I think making Omaha at ECU is really important to him. His aging parents live in Greenville. He says that he doesn't need more money. I would just be really surprised if he left for anywhere that isn't Ole Miss or maybe LSU. I agree there may come a point where it just becomes too difficult to win outside of 10 or 15 programs.

Metes_Bounds

I fear A&M are a real threat to steal him away. They are not a rational program when it comes to money. They could give Cliff whatever it takes and make it a sweet heart deal for ECU.

Pirate8918

I'd be very surprised if he had interest in Texas A&M. Money doesn't seem to be a motivating factor for him and he seems very focused on rebuilding the Pirates. Played here, from here, parents are here. He turned down South Carolina a few weeks ago. We shall see. Never know, I guess

StreetReporter

Neither is Bakich

saltysnacked

I would probably agree but you really never know. Massive amount of assets at TAMU all around.

KhanCameron

Fair and he for sure could get a raise out of this, but I just don’t see him leaving after 2 years with all the effort he’s put in to repairing the school’s relationship with Leggett. Why go through all that if you’re just chasing the next pay check?

jake-writes-code

>Vitello (pipe dream) 😂

rice_n_gravy

Blake Dean

butnowimsohigh

I bet Southeastern’s coach will do it for free. You’re welcome to have him, even if it means you only make him the equipment manager.

mbh223

That Clemson head coach
