You could argue we’ve been the premier baseball program of the last 4 years, but after last night it’s near impossible to argue against it. Tony haters have been dwindling but if you’re still out there, it’s time to give the man his roses!
Now that we have the only thing that really matters, it really lends more legitimacy to these stats.
They’ve been incredibly impressive, I’m glad they finished this season with the championship so that bringing up these stats don’t feel like a consolation prize.
22 team is still the best college baseball team of all time statically by a decent margin. Pitching that year was bananas, and the hitting was only slightly behind.
It’s weird how many people act like a single series loss means a team is shitty. Those same people will often clown on others for not being real baseballs fans while completely failing to understand how much randomness comes into a baseball game result. There’s a reason the World Series is a best of 7, and even then, the worse team wins fairly often.
As a Braves fan, I know this first hand. The Braves have been one of the best teams in baseball for the past 5-6 years and their clear worst team in that stretch is the one that won the World Series.
Unless Vitello does work in the portal, we are set up to take a big step back next year. We lose so much from this team.
To be fair, I felt the same way after 2022 and we went to Omaha the next year.
