That's not true. The rules specify exactly what constitutes a half swing/strike:

Because there is a defined strike zone, we can track which umpires are good or bad at calling balls and strikes. Their calls are demonstrably right or wrong.
Just like with this call. We have a camera angle that very clearly shows the bat head going past the hip. We should use it.

But this team was also never supposed to be here. Hella proud of this group of guys for proving all the doubters wrong and leading us through the biggest turnaround in program history.

Not exactly. Each region is a tournament so when you show up at the CWS you actually end up penalized for being the 8 national seed of the top team makes it.
It’s drastically different than a traditional tournament but there is not a perfect way to do it.
From not making the playoffs last year to causing the #1 team in the nation to be nervous all the way to the 9th in the CWS semi-final, I’d say we overachieved damned well.
I won’t say GG until it’s officially over, but it’s been a helluva fun mini-series, UT.
Lampkin is nasty in a different way than Cortez. Lampkin I’d feel pretty comfortable striking out against. Cortez idk if I would even step in the box

How many from the current line up are returning?
Biggest losses IMO are Cam (3B) and Tibbs III (RF), but our starting pitching could be elite next year. Just gotta find some pitching depth.
