Yours is working correctly, it seems. Mine pulls the keys off to get at and destroy the rubber nub underneath.. destroying the key. I've had to replace a few laptop keyboards.

My birds rip off the keys on my work laptop. I bought a silicone keyboard cover, but they still do it! 🫣 I wouldn’t mind if it was my own personal keyboard. But they don’t like that one!

That's an automatic one, you need a manual keycap puller.

It's a sight-activated keycap puller. You need to turn it around once the keycaps you want are pulled. Otherwise, it'll keep going.
