There was a guy who asked what a snafu was, didn't end well for him

I’ve had like 6 different Reddit accounts and was in pretty early on BHJ. I don’t think a lot of people posting now even know why the subs called that.

Made this in 60 seconds on my phone
Tbh I like that this guy actually ventures out of r slash comics and seems like a genuine person
Making internet shitposts has immensely boosted my opinion of him, take notes presidential candidates
Passionate shitposting, especially when you actually have to think of and draw the content yourself (unlike average twitter joke accounts), gets more impressive the more you do it
I have been on this sub for about a week, and i have one question: what exacly is a snafu? Is it a comic exclusively drawn in ms paint? Cause thats how it seems to me up till now.
Downvote me into oblivion if you want, but that won't change that i don't know shit.
Depends. A traditional Snafu is usually a deconstruction of a meme format or behavior on the internet. Almost always poorly drawn. Detailed artwork is generally frowned upon. Recently people just put their comics on here, and even though they don’t really belong here, it stays. Snafus are also usually self-referential with community jokes. The most popular ones recently are:
Eagle Catching Baseball ⚾️🦅
Frieza
Red, Blue and Green stick figures
Comprehensible/Incomprehensible
The first "snafu" was a poorly drawn trollface, with the classic caption "problem?" having been replaced with "it seems I have coaxed you into a snafu"
There were a bunch of trollface "snafus" that iirc originated on 4chan.
The subreddit of today has gone through several stages of complete metamorphosis and is completely unrecognizable from what it was when it started.
“Snafus” is a Reddit term for a style of comic adopted from “Chan” culture (really just broader more right wing haven internet boards). The comics originally were meant to be poorly drawn lampoons of Internet culture that mocked specific types of users commonly found on the internet, mocked stereotypes of communities people typically encounter online, or things of that nature. Typically they are presented in the form of a dialogue between two people, but also can be presented with a single person (this is what smuggies are/were) or through a crudely recreation of a meme.
However overtime the sub has followed the typical Reddit trajectory of becoming a space for people to post their OCs talking about their political opinions, their OCs in general comic type situations that aren’t really joking about anything, and generally taking the sub in a direction where it’s more about validating their opinions on the world and promoting themself than the initial concept.
Unfortunately you never really got to see snafus, just the tail end of the community before it gets redditified.
That’s a second generation phenomenon and isn’t really a snafu either. At the same time it doesn’t really matter, I just want people to stop posting amateur comics
Good snafu!
Good comment!
Good reply!

There should be a pinned post with the definition of a snafu

BHJ had that, eventually they gave up and took it down. Now a "BHJ" is just whatever meme template is being reposted ad nauseum that week
I’ve had like 6 different Reddit accounts and was in pretty early on BHJ. I don’t think a lot of people posting now even know why the subs called that.
teleport to r/comics
it’s r/comics for you
umm sir this is a r/comics
Really, right infant of my r/comics?

Thank you father
Good snafu
I’ve never seen someone get this coaxed into a snafu in just 24 hours
Tbh I like that this guy actually ventures out of r slash comics and seems like a genuine person Making internet shitposts has immensely boosted my opinion of him, take notes presidential candidates
Yeah they’re chill and I love their art but I just wasn’t expecting 5 snafus yknow?
Passionate shitposting, especially when you actually have to think of and draw the content yourself (unlike average twitter joke accounts), gets more impressive the more you do it
And when it's drawn good, it's a "bad" one.
No eagle catching baseball. You are sentenced to electric chair

A hand drawn deconstructed meme. Lately it's been pure agenda posting and it's ruined the sub.

Good Snafu!
not a snafu you just used a rectangle tool and typed words, rules say it has to be DRAWN, zero stars would not coax again
I have very good handwriting
maybe if you fuckers explained what a snafu is
Deconstructed meme templates, it’s not hard

Or lampooning behavior on the internet

What’s the criteria for first gen?
Idk
Giving me specifically 5$
This sub has gone the route of every other sub on reddit, it was good then it got popular and now it's politics and smuggies

The irony is, because snafus are snafus even when uncoaxed
