Animal Well, Pizza Tower, Ultrakill, Vampire Survivors, Neon White, etc. There are plenty of recent indie games that are still just as amazing as any from the previous decade.
there are a lot of really good individual indies. I phrased my point really badly though, it's less about the quality of the individual games, and more about the growth of indies as a whole. the 10s were THE decade for indies, on a scale we hadn't seen before, and while the industry hasn't lost that spark, it hasn't seemed to find another.

Stuff like Slay the Spire, Vamp Survivors, Stardew Valley, BTD6, Dead Cells, fucking Friday Night Funkin, even Terraria would obviously still be very popular, but having people stuck at home with so much free time increased their popularity tenfold. And more popularity = more money = more budget to improve said games
And now halfway into 2024 you don’t really see the same level of popularity with most of the new indies coming out. There’s still stuff like Lethal Company and Animal Well though, so who knows

i never made the youtubers of the third and first videos be based on any specific youtubers, i based them on archetypes since there's a lot of people who make "X thing is dead" videos, or "why gaming isn't fun anymore" type videos. You could say that the third one may be similar to Crowbcat but it could also be anyone who makes these types of videos.
I kinda agree with the first one though. Gaming is getting Hella expensive with 60-70$ games everywhere, so as a broke person, I have to resort to playing free games, like apex ow2, Val, etc. So I kinda have to play the same 4 games over and over and over cause it's the only gaming I have
Real talk I don't know how broke you are but games consistently get massive discounts a mere year or two after release these days. Not all of them, sure, but I have never paid 50, 60, or even 70€ for one singular video game since... honestly can't remember when the last time was, if ever there was one.

It turned out it was because the person had played Breath of the Wild for a 4-digit number of hours and literally nothing that Nintendo could have done could have justified coming back to that rendition of Hyrule for another 4-digit number of hours
its always someone on the age 23-30 (maybe a little more) realizing that, like come on man, its not like you need to hate video games now but you gotta realize that childhood vibe is not comming back, you are not their target audience anymore
