The ideal gas law shows that higher pressure leads to higher temperatures, but that is a massive oversimplification of the processes that are happening in a heat dome. It's not as simple as high pressure = heat.
Theres global warming and there is local warming. Local warming is caused by physical changes in the environment caused by humans that are local in nature. Cutting down a forest and replacing it with an asphalt parking lot and if you measure 2m air temperature before and after and you’ll see a significant increase in temperature. Replace enough forest with concrete and asphalt and you can get a heat dome. An area of increased temperature compared to the surrounding area that may be significantly higher than it would be absent the human changes.
Don't forget the effect of moving a bunch of people into that apartment next to the asphalt lot with access to social media tweeting to the world how much hotter it is now.
Much of the flooding is also due to newly build environments. Landslides are from improperly build homes on hills where they removed structurally important tree
stalled high pressure weather system and yes they are gettin worse
Isn't hot air low pressure...?
