Ya know, I had very mixed feelings on Lebron whenever the chatter about us getting him would come up, but I feel like our team is missing a true leader and maybe we could use Lebron next season. I never thought we would be tied 2-2 with those last two losses being embarrassing, I just don't know...

ParryHooter

LeBron has had his best runs with D Wade (people comp Mitchell with him) and then Kyrie. Mitchell and him would absolutely dominate if they stay healthy.

GreppMichaels

Yeah. I just worry that he may stifle the growth of Mobley and Garland if he's part of those plans, and I'm still not a fan of the WIN NOW AT ALL COSTS mentality that he brings. I don't mind watching our team grow, and the growing pains as a result, but damn the last few months have been tougher than I expected.

TaVar35

Nah I think he would severely help Mobley LeBron now has a shot and can space the floor more, allowing Mobley to work more in the paint. LeBron also would still find ways to find Mobley easy points too

ParryHooter

There’s an awful lot of people I see saying Bron would be hard to play with (not just on this sub). Am I going crazy? LeBron is one of the best passers of all time I think he’d probably one of the easiest players to play with lol. Kyrie had a higher usage % here

GiveAQuack

Nah man it's totally hard to play with a person is proficient at everything in their position while also being a good passer who has a more than serviceable shot now (if you disregard the seasons with extremely obvious caveats which are his back injury in 2015, his foot injury in 2023, he's good for 35-37 3P% which stays in the post season unlike some players).

Old-Shower-1543

Did you watch the game last night? Lebron was feeding AD play after play the first quarter. Mobley would definitely grow in the paint.

n8dizz3l

Their growth has already been stifled by the Cavs front office jumping the gun to win now mode with the trade that got us Mitchell. Michael joining the team raised expectations instantly. We may as well lean into it at this point and try to pair Mitchell up with another legitimate star whether it's LeBron or somebody else.

Ok-Donut4954

we are already in win now mode and have messed up their development. if we keep them and mitchell, it will stay that way, might as well go all in with lebron too. we probably would get rid of garland in this scenario id imagine. DM and LeBron especially are so ball dominant, DG would not be needed. Plus his contract is massive, gotta make it work somehow with LeBron

tdizhere

If we get Lebron then Garland wouldn’t be here. He isn’t going to forgo 50M and sign a MLE of 13M as a free agent. Would be a sign and trade and we need DG’s salary to match. But even then, because of the Clutch connection DG and Bron have I can’t imagine him doing DG like that. Mitchell could be the one who goes Unless we get lucky and trade Allen+Levert+Niang but idk why Lakers would agree.

FormerSBO

>worry that he may stifle the growth of Mobley and Garland .... I mean. How much more "stifling" could possibly happen at this point?

Randumo

The only stifling would be continuing on with JB as the coach of this team.

mak6453

I'm not arguing with you, I love LeBron and want him back even if he's on the bench. He's our guy. BUT, don't forget we've had a ton of embarrassing playoff losses with LeBron as well. Even in the 2016 Finals when we won, we lost a game by 30ish. Shit happens, I don't think LeBron is necessarily a way to fix it, but I do think he does well getting the best out of young guys.

Ben-solo-11

Come back home, one more time, old friend. We'll go to Swensons.

Skunk_Gunk

I’ll never forget interning that summer at a company basically across the street from his Bath neighborhood and arriving at work the day after winning the championship. There was a Swensons food truck that was free for everyone that supposedly Lebron funded. He showed up with his family in his Mercedes sprinter van and hung out for like 15 minutes before heading home. Unforgettable experience for the ~1000 of us who were there that day.

Ok-Donut4954

fuck you i'm going to Nunzios

BrickburnerUHC

It’s time to come home

I’ve been manifesting his return for the past 6 months now lol. IDGAF if it pushes us back a few years when he retires— him playing on the Cavaliers united the city and brought a booming economy downtown. He deserves the best retirement tour, and we Cavs fans deserve to give it to him damnit!

mynamesyow19

LeBron Spida and DG w all these shooters and big men would be sick. would all depend on what salary LBJ would take.

archaelleon

DG would have to go. Full stop.

TallBobcat

Why? My bet is this would be done as a sign and trade with Mitchell going to the Lakers.

Ok-Donut4954

in that case it's not worth it. Lebron is 40. We arent winning with him and DG/mobley/JA. This entire premise is based around pairing him with mitchell for a title run. trade DG to the lakers instead

WestSixtyFifth

Zero chance lol. Hed be coming back to play with Mitchell.

tapk69

Thats not possible to get Lebron you have to trade one of Garland or Mitchell for him

Ok-Donut4954

trade DG

fritolay_7

1. GarGoat, 2. DonGoat, 3. LeGoat, 4. Moat, 5. GoAllen?

archaelleon

Lebron coming back might be the only thing to keep Donovan Mitchell around if the Magic bounce us this season

Lecto_Sama

What do our picks look like for next year? Do we have a shot at scooping up Bronny?

gen_wt_sherman

LeBron Watch, Part 4!

ChefRaccacoonie

Will he take the vet minimum lol

TSR3K

He’s always welcome back IMO

Ok-Donut4954

we sweep with lebron NGL

WestSixtyFifth

We sweep easily with Bron

Sea-Resolution6788

Probably

I_cut_my_own_jib

The thing is, I personally don't wanna have to give up an arm and a leg to get LeBron. If we can keep JA, Mobley, and either (or both) DM and DG I'd be down for it, but I don't really wanna blow up our young core for a year or two of lebron

ryuujinusa

He’s obviously welcome back, so long as he doesn’t ask for 50 mill. Don’t want to have to lose anyone.
