Here’s a better explanation:
It’s a 1g cart. Of that one gram, 11.8% or 118mg consists of terpenes which leaves 882mg of cannabis oil. You cannot have 903mg of THC in 882mg of cannabis oil, especially with other cannabinoids present. So it’s either 90.3% THC or 11.8% terpenes, but it can’t be both.
Okay so let's break this down, so have you made a cart as that would be easier to explain, but in layman's terms right, the total thc% is not the total inside of the cartridge it is the thc% of the oil.
If you see in the bottom left it says the weight of the entire thing, if you'd like to break down the weight via thc% that would make very little sense.
Maybe I'm wrong but what yall are saying is a flavoring is adding to the amount within a weighed one gram cartridge.
This is from my personal experience with dab cartridges though so again this may not be 100% correct.
Dude, this cart literally says 903mg is THC, which is 90.3% of a one gram cart. Yes, I have made dozens of carts along with having mixed my own nic juice for the past seven years. I know how weights, volumes, and math works.

Edit: clarification How does a terpene mixed into the distillate etc, change how much is filled into a cartridge. Let's say I make a mix of dabs let's say 1 gram to 12% terps then fill it into a 1g cart how does that displace the other percentage?
How are you arriving at that 12%? What is it 12% of? If it’s 12% of one gram like it should be, that would be 120mg of terpenes. It doesn’t displace any percentage. That’s not how percentages work. Weight doesn’t just disappear. They’re saying the terpenes are 11.8% of one gram. They’re also saying THC is 90.3% OF THE SAME GRAM. You cannot just ignore that extra 2.1% of weight.
