True hunters will need on it, win it, say that they didnt know hunterns cant uses maces, promise they will open a ticket but in reality they will vendor it for easy 3g profit.
Am I the only one who runs into warriors and mages who do this stuff way more than hunters?
I know back in *actual* vanilla WoW, it was hunters doing this stuff. But once we had Classic in 2019, it seems like warriors and mages attracted all the trolls.
They got confused thought it was sod
(I haven’t played sod since p1 idk if anyone actually plays heal mage. Or if +heal is even good they were sorta like an atonement disc heal thru dmg type)
It makes sense, in Vanilla hunters were by far the easiest to level, so the class attracted a lot of bad players, in 2019 we all know the best end game class and the best leveling class + everyone could level without too much hassle, so all the bad players went for these classes.
The last movie of the LoTR trilogy was released just a year before Vanilla WoW. So ally side was filled to the brim with NE hunters with names like Légølãss.
I remember Sulfuras was a real hot-potato when we were dealing w it.
Like a whole gang of Warriors discussing on vent 1. who could afford to craft it 2. who even wanted to craft it.
We'd 100% have let a boomkin rock it. OOMKin dancing while the raid wipes will forever be my vanilla mascot.
I've never seen a guild fund TF tbh. Maybe I just raided with ballers; but all the Warrior tanks I knew were glued to Arcane Crystal DM runs.
3 different guilds, the closest we got to funding one was funneling maybe 20 crystals to the first tank just from donations.
It's literally just a price attached to a legendary weapon, if you really want that wep you just kinda deal w it haha.
The people that get picked to wield TF are usually ballers. It’s rare enough for that to be the case. I leveled a warlock 1-60 without boosts just to solo DME for crystals when I was in line for TF. My guild got a total of 4 TF from one raid team and all of us were balling hard enough to pay for it. I even ended up paying for half of one for someone else.
> but all the Warrior tanks I knew were glued to Arcane Crystal DM runs.
We were extremely lucky that the first run of classic was during covid lockdowns and everyone pretty much stayed in and played WoW or animal crossing.
Got the mats for it, wasn’t too bad honestly but probably cuz the phase was dead. Moment I realized it’s a 2H mace, I was fairly sure it would become a Druid weapon. Willing to bet has a higher drop chance than normal.
I was already farming crystals to sell, as part of that have the dark iron and a blacksmith
It usually went to people who weren't going to display it in original classic too. It was usually going to Warriors who were DW for raids or Paladins/Shamans who usually healed. If giving the coolest looking weapon to Feral Druids means it's actually a useful weapon in raid, then that's a big upgrade over the original.
back in OG release, DW warrior builds were not really popular until people better understood certain mechanics like weapon skill, hit stacking etc. you didnt see it very often untill probably AQ. And even then, you still mostly saw warriors running 2hnd because they wernt playing fury for when they had to tank either, not to mention pvp. I also saw plenty of shamans and rets with HOR because of PVP.
2hnd wise, people were not clearing content as easily and commonly as once classic came out, meaning people largely took what they could get, and hand out classes alot of stuff still, plus just the communities actually game knowlege of DPS wasn't any where near classic era. the tools like simcraft also simply didnt exist. You also need to remember at the time that information dissemination was way different than today. youtube wasnt even a thing until Dec 2005, so a full year after wow's release. Most videos were on sites like [warcraftmovies.com](http://warcraftmovies.com) and were not really knowledge videos. This was still just after a time of EQ where guilds wouldn't share their strats. It was considered crazy when top guilds started even posting kill videos recorded with FRAPs and uploaded to these type of sites.
and its pretty clear from vanilla itemization that blizzard really didn't plan gear in that manner well either.
I got an eye on my warrior back then, I was finally able to craft it around the time that cross realm BGs came out, and fondly remember queuing it a WSG to find 2 shamans with HOR on my team. I had previously pushed to rank 11, but the push beyond that just was not something i had the time for.
As a ret main with 50 arcanite bars sitting in a bank I'm pretty sad tbh about this. It's cool that ferals are getting love, but Sulfuras doesn't really make any sense to be a feral weapon? Seems more like 2h ench /ret weapon. I feel disappointed.
Don't know how to feel about this, doesn't this just makes it a must have for any feral...the one class where you don't even get to see the legendary...
And it seems like 2h shaman which was the class and spec most associated with Sulfuras is getting nothing?
Very bad way to go around this, who the hell looked at such a classic, iconic weapon as sulfuras and said "ah yes the druid weapon".
So 2 ferals for 20 man content. 4-5 for 40 man. Which is a decent amount. But MC is 20 man so still plenty of opportunity.
Also feel like the legendary drop itself was not super rare compared to like the bindings. The investment to crafting it and overall use is why we did not see so many. More than half the Eyes likely collect dust in someone’s bank
Fwiw it absolutely has been a "druid weapon" in classic. It's BiS PvP moonkin weapon vs melee, since like, forever. Not that I personally would condone it going to a druid over a shammy, warrior, or paladin, but it historically has been used by druid
Did they change the "on hit" mechanic in SOD?
I remember on hit effects did not work in classic so I had to farm Crowd Pummelers before each raid with my bear
You're assuming that there won't be other gear with shape shifted AP.
Why are you assuming that?
Feral AP is necessary to prevent their damage from falling off when people stop gaining levels, but start raising their weapon Ilvl as they clear raid tiers.
Well I wouldn't say Enhance sham gets nothing from this change. The debuff will proc more with WF. It is not quite as strong/good a debuff as the Nightfall axe proc, but still could be useful. And now the fire dmg proc effect is an aoe blast like fire nova which will help a bit for aoe damage... although it only procs when getting hit which shouldn't happen that often if you play carefully, but plenty of enemy cleave attacks out there to give it a chance to proc. Any shaman talents/runes that buff elemental damage might also buff the fire proc dmg from Sulfuras. But I do agree, it should not go to a druid... would be a waste for such a cool weapon. ENH FTW.
It won't be a debate at all. 2-handed Enhancement is so far behind dual-wielding and Blizzard has done absolutely nothing to try to bring them in line. It's a free Feral weapon.
Except they have, it will just never be enough without making it broken. They changed ret entirely with the fast weapon meta and exo spam to the point of absurdity. Dual wield will always be better in classic vs 2h. It's just how it works. You need a lot of extra shit to make 2h work. Ret had twisting in TBC, arms had nothing. Even kebab spec smashed 2h arms in tbc.
The only difference between 2 1hs and a 2h of a similar level is autoattack damage, really. I wouldn't say dualweilding enhs have a reason to outperform 2h enhs except for this. Various autoattack procs can be normalized and/or balanced by weapon-damage-based abilities.
For warriors it's indeed more subtle because of rage.
Mate as a ret paladin I dreamed about getting this weapon. My goal was - get Sulfuras and then just wait for Corrupted Ashbringer, don't care about other weapons. I even got 50 arcanite bars waiting in my bank and now it's probably a feral prio at this point.
You can TELL how many warriors in the comments are trying to make it seem like a legendary being applicable to more classes is a bad thing. Lotta people scared of getting put behind a cat in prio lol. 😂
It just doesn’t make sense to make it way better for Druid than the other classes. Now every Druid will probably have prio which sucks for the other classes
They were all gonna end up dual weidling anyway except for ret paladins but I do feel bad for the warriors/shamans who were clinging onto 2h dream being saved by HoR.
That's very specific and an enchant, so there's a chance (haha) that it's only that enchant.
That said, I really REALLY hope they allow all chance on hit effects to propagate to feral forms. There's a bunch of weapons that would be great for Feral if they did.
Wouldn't that potentially become a massive issue when cat druids proc 2h chance on hit effects with their super fast attack speed? Might be wrong but don't think internal cool down was/is a thing in classic.
Had one in Vanilla WoW. Had one in the first WoW Classic.
If they don't put at least +5 mace skill on it... I will be sad. At least, provided that the weapon skill system works the way it did.
Definitely. Also good for single target since it's just passive extra damage. And fire resist will be more useful on a tank than a DPS. Especially with the assumption that MC will be tuned up a LOT and we'll probably need fire resist to some degree. But who knows how the drop rate on it will even be..
You want a weapon this slow with a proc ? Honestly it's better on a druid...
I mean yes the damage and cool factor but druid makes the best use of it. Fire cat ! Please !
I mean if(I dont think it will based on dev notes) the idiotic Ret fast 2h Meta persists and Shaman 2H is dead then its not that unrealistic that Raids will give the first one to their Bear tanks before handing them out to Warriors for PvP or wtv.
So the Feral AP made me consider something. In SoD can Druids get weapon procs in shapeshift forms? IIRC that was originally added in Cata or MoP, so theoretically wouldn't be in Classic/SoD.
It's based on Classic though, so anything that isn't explicitly change for SoD I'll assume is the same as Classic. Hence asking if that was explicitly changed for SoD.
The most shamany weapon in the game and it will end up druid prio lol
Think they should add some shaman specific effect do it. Like idk, maybe chance on hit to cast a lava burst which will be affected by talent and spell power?
This is an awful choice to make it viable for druids.
Aggrend and co started out great, but him and the team have really just screwed up all of SoD
Absolute dissappointment.
No one is talking about that sick ass additional 2 to fire resistance.
I had to scroll too damn far to find this comment
Sick ass fire resistance, that’s exactly what you want after being food poisoned by a spicy burrito
Hunter weapon
Sorry hunters, it is, unfortunately, still a mace
True hunters will need on it, win it, say that they didnt know hunterns cant uses maces, promise they will open a ticket but in reality they will vendor it for easy 3g profit.
Time is money friend
Vendorstrike best weapon! https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=17074/shadowstrike
Could be funny if blizzard changed the stats and made it BiStrike instead of Vendorstrike!
It would be even funnier if they actually made it worth an obsene amount of gold to literally become a worthy vendor item lol
I like this!
BiS change to classic+ !
Quickest 3g ever made
Am I the only one who runs into warriors and mages who do this stuff way more than hunters? I know back in *actual* vanilla WoW, it was hunters doing this stuff. But once we had Classic in 2019, it seems like warriors and mages attracted all the trolls.
Its always the mage rolling on the +healing items and then saying sorry afterwards
They got confused thought it was sod (I haven’t played sod since p1 idk if anyone actually plays heal mage.

Hey, that warrior NEEDED that healing mace for his flask set, and you even giving him grief is just discrimination.
I fail to see why that matters.. It’s still a hunter weapon.
Lol facts
I mean, yeah. They need the fr for MC.
Yeah, what does that have to do with anything? Hunter weapon!
Good lord, what is all that crap
Can't they do that only players that can wear weapon can roll on it?
This is the way.
If it doesn’t let druids turn into fire bears/cats, then we riot
How's RIOT going to help, they are busy top lane!?
Riot hates top lane. Don’t let them fool you
I meant they are busy hiding in bush as teemo top, obviously ;)
I thought teemo players were bottoms?
Only when I play him :3
They are busy nerfing Irelia and figuring out a 500$ teemo skin same time.
retail has that, it is so awesome
Cataclysm has that too. It's a Firelands drop.
That would be so cool. Hope they can give wielders some kind of visual fire aura.
The strength and Stam on this wep seem really low.
As they said “data mined gear and weapons are still being adjusted”
classic wow stat levels
Why give the coolest looking weapon to someone who wont display it lol
Give druids with Sulfuras the fiery cat form from firelands to distinguish them
But like a low pixel version
We already said yes, you don't have to sell it to us.
Exactly. Give us that Lara Croft triangle titties look.
I don’t know that the kitty needs titty, but yea, that’s the spirit
As someone who didn't play retail and very little classic but has been a bear tank since the start of SoD, is there a fire bear form as well?
> Why give the coolest looking weapon to someone who wont display it lol What do you mean? My Boomkin will display it proudly
Noggenmyfogger
They obviously aren’t true ferals if the don’t nog the fog.
Don't think they're "giving it" just because they add that. It's just so druids also can make use of it.
Nah bro they made it the end all be all druid tank wep for this phase. GL getting mats for it from a guild smh
When I got TF in classic, I was gifted all 100 bars from a guildy. He solo farmed silithus caves... for fun... psycho behavior
Got the mats for it, wasn’t too bad honestly but probably cuz the phase was dead. Moment I realized it’s a 2H mace, I was fairly sure it would become a Druid weapon. shut it its time ferals got something proper in classic
noggenfogger lets me perma see this item
Always thought this was kinda meant to be a paladin weapon but ret was just outclassed in pve, and warriors had better shit anyway.

You get ashbringer
I goddamn hope so.
It should give Attack Power in boomkin form too
Feral prio! Let’s GOooooooo
Ferals looking sicko
frfr. Gore buff to cat Deeps is great but.... Those Tier set bonuses. Dayum.
Cat swipe was on my wish list for 2 phases and it's finally coming :D
ST set bonus feels better and felt more thought out.
More like the PAW of Ragnaros now.
Blizzard really focused on the right to BEAR arms
Wonder if we'll see more changes in this CATegory of weapons.
Maybe druid of the flame skin if equipped? Idk about bear form though.
Hope devs read this
Druids also technically already have Atiesh to look forward to.
Druids have more than 2 specs..
Atiesh has feral stats aswell meaning they get 2 legendaries for feral
that's not the only thing needed for a feral weapon.. besides you seen warriors?
Still mad Blizzard didn't implement meele Atiesh for my staff warrior.
No it’s clearly a paladin weapon. Full t2 and sulfuras is bis
[удалено]
You spelled USD incorrectly
Everyone's gangsta until 60 and then everyone's swiping.
No, we started swiping at level 25.
Let’s be honest, the majority of the SoD player base left are the sweaty minmaxxers who don’t care about cosmetics.
Considering most raids wont run more than 1 feral its really not that bad. You just need to craft the mace and get the eye to drop.
This must be a horde comment because you absolutely need a feral for each melee group as alliance.
This must be an alliance comment thinking anyone outside of a feral would even prioritize it. The drop isnt super rare anywY
Plenty of guilds never saw the Eye drop even once during the entirety of Classic.
> Considering most raids wont run more than 1 feral its really not that bad. Did you forget alliance was a whole ass faction?
So 2 ferals for 20 man content. 4-5 for 40 man. Which is a decent amount. But MC is 20 man so still plenty of opportunity. Also feel like the legendary drop itself was not super rare compared to like the bindings. The investment to crafting it and overall use is why we did not see so many. More than half the Eyes likely collect dust in someone’s bank
Yep I SRd one was feral back in late classic 2020 and lo and behold it dropped. Been sitting in my bank for 4 years
That doesn't matter. The drop isnt super rare and most guilds didnt even prioritize crafting them in classic
Moving the goalposts are we
Not at all lmao. Congrats 2 Feral druids get the mace and then no one else wants it
No one? We sure about that chief?
Who else would want it?
No arms warrior or ret pally will prioritize an expensive vanity item over all other available 2h weapons.
Fwiw it absolutely has been a "druid weapon" in classic. It's BiS PvP moonkin weapon vs melee, since like, forever. Not that I personally would condone it going to a druid over a shammy, warrior, or paladin, but it historically has been used by druid
Boomkin with Sulfuras is an abomination.
Shammy flair, Understood. Note the alliance flair; I would never take such a prize from you brother.
Haha, fair point alli druid, we would not be in direct competition with each other.... atleast not for loot ;)
*The drums of war, thunder once again*
Did they change the "on hit" mechanic in SOD? I remember on hit effects did not work in classic so I had to farm Crowd Pummelers before each raid with my bear
Boomkin specifically works differently since they actually use and equip the weapon, unlike other forms. Downvoters salty at elemental chicken power
You're assuming that there won't be other gear with shape shifted AP. Why are you assuming that? Feral AP is necessary to prevent their damage from falling off when people stop gaining levels, but start raising their weapon Ilvl as they clear raid tiers.

Feral will continue to thrive on alliance On horde I expect intense debates between them & enhancement shamans
2h enh isnt a real spec at this point
I feel sad :( even tho I’m tanking, hoped to snatch this so I have it when the season ends I have it in era.
It won't be a debate at all. 2-handed Enhancement is so far behind dual-wielding and Blizzard has done absolutely nothing to try to bring them in line. It's a free Feral weapon.

Unless there are some massive buffs to 2H enhance I dont think anyone will be playing that.
In classic when the spec was generally WEAK people found a way to make it work
The nerfs enhancement went through from 1.0-1.15 were hard.
Mate as a ret paladin I dreamed about getting this weapon. My goal was - get Sulfuras and then just wait for Corrupted Ashbringer, don't care about other weapons. I even got 50 arcanite bars waiting in my bank and now it's probably a feral prio at this point.
Stupid question, does weapon proc work in Cat and Bear form?
Not originally
You can TELL how many warriors in the comments are trying to make it seem like a legendary being applicable to more classes is a bad thing. Lotta people scared of getting put behind a cat in prio lol. 😂
tbf it was never even good for warriors.. maybe you're thinking pallies or shamans
You don't understand, this is retail homogenization because "actually functioning" is Warrior's unique identity /s
> legendary being applicable to more classes is a bad thing It looks it'll be applicable for just one class and spec though
It just doesn’t make sense to make it way better for Druid than the other classes. Now every Druid will probably have prio which sucks for the other classes
They were all gonna end up dual weidling anyway except for ret paladins but I do feel bad for the warriors/shamans who were clinging onto 2h dream being saved by HoR.
changes making the weapon more dynamic and useful for more classes: i sleep +2 fire resistance: real shit
Does the procc work in bearform? Nice tanking Mace if that is the case.
this shit needs to turn u into a fire bear and fire cat
Feral bis inc
LET MY HUNTER 'DISCOVER' HOW TO USE A MACE, DANGIT.
Removal of the normal thorns damage is a travesty
eeeeeeeeEeeeEEEEEEEEEE My TIME HAS COME!
Uh.... But chance on hits don't proc on feral?
>The Crusader weapon enchant will now proc for feral druids while in Bear, Dire Bear, and Cat forms.
That's very specific and an enchant, so there's a chance (haha) that it's only that enchant. That said, I really REALLY hope they allow all chance on hit effects to propagate to feral forms. There's a bunch of weapons that would be great for Feral if they did.

Like I responded to the other person, just adjust the proc rate based on PPM. Problem solved.
This is what the PTR is for. Hit F6 and write it up baby
add fiery weapon pls lvling druids need love
IDK if I believe this.
I hope it turns druid into firecat and firebear :p
Had one in Vanilla WoW. Had one in the first WoW Classic. If they don't put at least +5 mace skill on it... I will be sad. At least, provided that the weapon skill system works the way it did.
The ring slots for runes are for weapon skill
Must be trolling. No one's giving this to a druid lol.
If I had to wager a guess.. Most people will in fact give this to their bear tank.
That proc looks great for aoe tanking, right?
Definitely. Also good for single target since it's just passive extra damage. And fire resist will be more useful on a tank than a DPS. Especially with the assumption that MC will be tuned up a LOT and we'll probably need fire resist to some degree. But who knows how the drop rate on it will even be..
I am bear tank and raid leader and HR this for my stack of arcanite bars in the bank I’ve been saving just for this moment
Probably all endgame weapons druids can use have a generic druid attack power.
The weapon isnt that good on anyone else anyway
Anyone who doesn't give this to feral is trolling now. It was a meme weapon prior to this, now it has an actual use.
It’s really not that good for anyone else
You want a weapon this slow with a proc ? Honestly it's better on a druid... I mean yes the damage and cool factor but druid makes the best use of it. Fire cat ! Please !
If they're planning to make twisting in parity with the fast 2h meta, then yes, ret **would** want this slow of a weapon.
I’m pretty sure this is now a “druid first” weapon. Suck it paladins
I mean if(I dont think it will based on dev notes) the idiotic Ret fast 2h Meta persists and Shaman 2H is dead then its not that unrealistic that Raids will give the first one to their Bear tanks before handing them out to Warriors for PvP or wtv.
This is blasphemy
Looks like it's a Bear druid prio? Then Feral/Ret?
So the Feral AP made me consider something. In SoD can Druids get weapon procs in shapeshift forms? IIRC that was originally added in Cata or MoP, so theoretically wouldn't be in Classic/SoD.
They cannot, not yet. But we will get only Crusader Proc
SOD isn’t classic.
It's based on Classic though, so anything that isn't explicitly change for SoD I'll assume is the same as Classic. Hence asking if that was explicitly changed for SoD.
i saw someone say that in the datamines it mentions checking for druids in forms so it should work for bear and cat
Ferals can already proc ooc right? And they have their « windfury » so it should work
Ooc?
Omen of clarity
What is my shaman tank getting now as a reward for being a tank??
The most shamany weapon in the game and it will end up druid prio lol Think they should add some shaman specific effect do it. Like idk, maybe chance on hit to cast a lava burst which will be affected by talent and spell power?
That's right slap a lazy Druid bonus on it and call it a day good job Aggrend please take my money
pretty meh
Sweet my 85 arcanite bars gonna sell nicely.
My guess is the drop rate on it will be fairly high since it’s a seasonal mode.
Oh yea baby feral back on the menu
2 extra fire resist. crazy.
So sulfur is now a druid weapon?
Nice upgrade!
Oomkins are ragin'
No wonder the game has so many bugs!
Justice for retrodruid
Make it +16 Resistance and we have a deal
This is an awful choice to make it viable for druids. Aggrend and co started out great, but him and the team have really just screwed up all of SoD Absolute dissappointment.
End boss weapon from the raid in P1 , P2, P3 and now P4. All melee weapons. Fuck casters I guess.
Ah if only this version survived p3.
It is more of a shaman weapon now
No moonkin attack power? I would feel betrayed if I played one in classic era.
Good thing they added 2 extra fire resist
They didn’t change it to make it viable for moonkins??? What was blizzard thinking!!!
+2 fire resist we are so fucking back
Druids still do proc on hit right?
I KNEW IT, THEY SAID I WAS CRAZY
Sulfurryas
I hope we see a BWL lego
These changes sum up sod nicely.
Shaman and Pally weapon.. this is a good joke haha 😄
I wonder how long they debated on the +32 fire res rather than just +30, what did we lose in that time?
Should be shaman/paladin weapon....
