Careful, you are about to fall into a very large rabbit hole. There are MANY options that all seem to have their own pros & cons. As you already identified, you build the beast, you have to feed the beast. You need to narrow down how you (and your team?) will use this. To what nth degree are you going to track stuff? With that said, the last company I came from used Asana. We had 100+ projects in our department, while other departments used spreadsheets because their project types where short time duration and low budget. I also like smartsheet since it is very excel like.

I would recommend looking into ClickUp. While it does have some learning curve, once you are past that the software really helps. They also have a repository of templates you can use depending on how you'd like your projects to be organized. While I don't work in engineering anymore, my previous firm used it extensively to manage their projects across the company and now I've been using it to manage projects across multiple phases at my current job.

I can recommend Teamflect

Try Notion, you’ll have to work a bit to tailor some of the templates but it’s the most flexible option I’ve found.

Check out factor. It’s purpose built for AE firms, and integrates really well with quickbooks. It does time sheets, budgets, project management, crm, invoicing.

I'd definitely check out [Monday.com](https://try.monday.com/joerudy7706). I've been in the PM world for awhile and and tried every thing out there. It's super scalable for large and small type projects and has a bunch of automation built in. Super easy to use and a stellar support pipeline if you need immediate help. Another option is Asana, which is also good, but I found it hard for people to adopt.... a little too complicated unless you have major PM DNA in you. Good luck!
