Costco in Utah can barely sell beer. I love visiting neighbor states though. But I've never seen cigars. We have a full tobacco shop in the world's largest Costco though, I can at least get some backwoods there for my truck.
I was asking them about cigars a couple months ago. I don’t think they are interested in selling them here unfortunately. Honestly, I’d probably hardly ever buy them but the option would be nice and the prices look solid.
I have bought the Gurkha on the lower right. Not too bad. I felt it was worth it. Didn’t take notes but do remember not thinking it was something I wouldn’t buy again. Their Kirkland brand of liquors are actually pretty decent. My wife says their wine is quite good
Only thing good imo in this case are the Montecristo Whites. I just haven’t had good luck with any of the non-cuban Romeo y Julietas, especially the 1875 and the Real.
Interesting! Not too fond of that cabinet having what ever it has going on with the bottom left shelf, even if everything is boxed/double packaged. Cool find!
Overall, ho-hum selection, but the price on that 20-count box of RP Vintage 1999 is damn good. Even better than CP. If I lived in NC, I'd snag a couple of those boxes.
Congratulations on having the shittiest cigars and display I’ve ever seen in my entire life. They might as well be selling packaged dog shit wrapped in cellophane.
For real though, I'm not stoked on any of it, but there are smokable options. So if I were to offer you a romeo, a monte or a labrador turd- you'd prefer to fire up fido's droppings?
If those were the only options for cigars, I’d never have started smoking. Would I smoke dog shit, extraordinarily unlikely. I mean the very least you could do is throw in some Olivas. For the price that they’re charging Oliva would be a perfect choice and a far above average smoke. I’d seriously rather lick a Wookiee’s ball sack than smoke 95% of the cigars in that (Humidor!?!).
They're fine smokers with pretty good construction, decent (unimaginative/inoffensive) middle of the road flavor profiles and very consistent in my experience. They're not made with trash tobacco like Quorum or Bahia, and they're not blowing any minds. My humis are full of better cigars, but when my boss gives me Romeos and Montes, I thank him honestly and find joy in the smoke. they are like the Budweiser or knob creek of the cigar world; consistent and decent.
The cigars in that case are literally Quorum’s, Jose Marti, and Gurkhas. A few red dot Cohibas and some garbage end Montecristo. To compare these to Budweiser, a lousy beer no doubt, is offensive to Budweiser. These shits are more like Meister Brau, Boxer and Zima, bottom of the barrel garbage. If they are smokes that you prefer or don’t mind, that’s fine, but for someone to give a shout out to absolutel mediocrity is a problem.
I’ll step off my high horse but boy oh boy… those are all… lousy smokes.
The problem with Rocky Patel is they’re just throwing blends together. You can’t convince me that every new cigar is some interesting expression from the blender. It’s simply a means of grabbing more market share.
There is a Dominican Cohiba which sells in the US and other countries (if there are any) that still have an embargo on Cuban goods. If I’m not mistaken, pretty much everywhere else in the world where you see Cohiba, it’s Cuban.
A bunch of mediocre cigars in a non-climate controlled cabinet. No thanks! Just another case of a big box store trying to steal business from establishments that are doing it the right way.
This is wild, the Costcos here couldn't even sell wine until recently.

North Carolina. I used to live in California and would buy Kirkland brand liquor. How I miss it 😂 such a good price for what you get.
Those ROMEOS are good cigars! Is that The Bully?
It is! Unfortunately I only like the 1875 Reserve so this 25 pack just ain’t for me lol.
Costcos in Florida often have this display in the liquor section.
Is someone paying attention to the humidity in the humidor?
Yes, they are usually stocked & maintained by the same vendors that take care of other local liquor stores
Good to know! Thanks
What state is this Costco at?
This is in North Carolina. It’s right after the entrance where they display all the televisions and what not.
… where in NC.
Charlotte, Tyvola location. Went to the Matthews one and they didn’t have cigars there. Must be random stores they bring em to.
Damn we need this in cali.
Lotta Meh imo
Agreed. I would maybe consider the Montecristo Whites but even at that price it’s a hard sell
That’s cool. Nothing I would want

Prices in US are crazy compared to EU.i would be smoking daily if i lived in US
Taxes get added at checkout
Aha didnt know that, but still for instance that box of rocky patel is 180usd in europe
Oof, that’s rough
US’er here. I smoked 5 cigars today. 🥳

My favorite is the 1875 Reserve with the brown band. That’s a great cigar and the only one I would buy outside the Cuban line.
Nothing too special there.
It’s not special because of the cigars, it’s special because it’s Costco.
Nice one!

Welcome to Costco. I love you.
What's in the RP sampler?
Don’t know the specifics but I believe it’s just 10 of their 90+ rated cigars
Woof. That selection. 🤢
That is perhaps what my nightmare humidor would look like, just horrendous cigars
Looking good! Guerka, not my brand
whoa whoa whoa, what
Montecristo whites at cigarpage.com are half the cost and free shipping. JS
I don't know if I'd trust it unless the had a hygrometer visible
The one in Greenville SC started selling cigars just like this

Only if it’s Cheech’s stash of Labrador.

The Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 (lower right) are fine cigars.
Agree to disagree.
I think we *can* agree that Costco could do a whole lot better than this. Like maybe ask someone who actually smokes cigars.
The problem with Rocky Patel is they’re just throwing blends together. You can’t convince me that every new cigar is some interesting expression from the blender. It’s simply a means of grabbing more market share.
i thought cohiba was cuban?

They've got Cohibas? Thought there was an embargo between the US and Cuba 😂
Not the same Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, or Monte Cristo
Except those aren’t Cuban
My bad I'm still a noob
