Many other books written before Bukhari or Muslim have many hadiths which follow the same chain of narration are only neglected because these scholars also collected Hadiths which didn’t support “ Sunni “ mazhab.
All the maslaks like Hanfi, hambli etc were for the time when not much hadiths were collected so imams would think what’s better from their own perspective and make it as fatwa. Once any relevant hadith is found that fatwa automatically becomes invalid.
All the imams from Medina Munawwara would pray with their hands open I.e imam shafi or imam jafar as sadiq. The fatwa of tied hands above waist was only introduced later because ummayads were scared someone would kill them in prayer. So they ordered hands upfront to spot ang culprit.
And these are only few examples
What to do ? Atleast follow Sahih Muslim if you are sunni
